  1. Well we seemed to do just that for Kelvin Benjamin. I'm not saying you're wrong, I can definitely pickup what you're laying down but who's to say he wouldn't have done better here? And who's to say Sammy doesn't rebound? There is a chance that happens. And we will probably overpay an average WR in free agency, you'll see.
  2. Last time you quoted me you were a total dick unprovoked. Don't quote me. I hold grudges. Well, he grew up a Bills fan and he produced while here. His production after Buffalo matters not.
  3. Fair enough. I have done zero research on this QB crop so I cannot comment, I'm just open to another, doesn't have to be a high pick. The numbers I suggested are the floor of what I find acceptable.
  4. I think he will be ok and as far as drafting another goes, that needs to be done now. I'd take one as high as RD2. You don't mess around with QB and if you're McDermott, you're a fool if you go into next year with just Allen and Barkley. So long as Allen throws a 2:1 TD:INT ratio I'd leave him alone. Doesn't need to be jaw dropping numbers. 3,200 yards 21 TDs and 10 picks or something in that vicinity and I'd leave him alone. That to me is plausible improvement.
  5. He just needs to show the juice is worth the squeeze. Eli Manning was notorious for his struggles as was Drew Brees and it went on for quite some time. QBs continue to get better and better over time. To me it's all about an upward trajectory.
  6. Not quite. We need to see an upward trajectory that's all. QBs take a painfully long time to develop but it'll payoff if you're patient. Could realistically see growth over a 10 year period with Allen.
  7. Could be. Could also be worried about an injury. A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.
  8. Sammy's best years were in Buffalo. Isn't that ironic? We're supposed to be the place where WRs go to die. Two 1,000 yard seasons back to back and then a down year. My point is, if we kept it inhouse there'd be no bidding war and the free market couldn't drive up his value. No doubt he'd be making less than 16m here.
  9. For one year. His 5th year option would be substantially lower.
  10. Maybe he didn't want to get into it? I would have acted no different than Bell. It's not out of spite, smart guy.
  11. In @ScottLaw defense though, had we kept Sammy he wouldn't have got this much money. I truly believe that. Pick up his 5th year option, franchise him if you have to and work out a deal.
  12. They didn't just overpay slightly, they overpayed massively. That's their business though. He's still a good receiver though.
  13. This is what separates bad GMs from good GMs. Can Beane find a diamond in the rough?
  14. I want Ryan Kalil in free agency. In the draft I like Marquise Brown and LJ Scott. I'd keep Matt Barkley around but I'd draft another QB in the mid rounds somewhere. Someone that we can develop and perhaps be a lifesaver to McD if Allen craps out.
  15. I hope I eat crow on Daboll, Beane and McD. I'd love for them to make me look stupid and I'm beginning to think that's going to happen. Win the next 4 please. Shut me up.
  16. I couldn't do a better job so I'm not going to embarrass myself. I'd hire McDermott back and tell Terry to give him one more year.
  17. Prescott is better than Eli was at this point his career. Took him awhile to figure it out. Prescott's ceiling is similar to Andy Dalton's.
  18. Dareus gave up though. All the talent in the world but he quit on us. He is the Kelvin Benjamin of DTs. My MD jersey went in the trash. No joke.
  19. I'd like to see them take another stab at QB. It's the smart move. Not in the 1st round though of course, but I'm open to a 2nd round pick. Keep Barkley onboard as well.
  20. Most fans liked him when we drafted him, I did not. But Zay has steadily improved and now I am completely sold.
  21. I have tremendous hope for Zay Jones. I think if he continues on his current path he'll be a guy we can count on. He's steadily shown that he is a great route runner, a very good route runner. Can't emphasize that enough.
  22. Money is not a problem. I'd pay an elite run stuffer what Star got all day long. OP is absolutely correct and this is an astute observation. Can't say it any better.
  23. Their offense is better. We're comparing our defenses, not quarterbacks or offenses. C'mon man.
  24. Barkley reminds me of Fitzy. Good catch Brandon Beane. Good catch indeed. Definitely a guy I'd keep around, I'd probably give him a few more starts. No need to compromise Allen. It's not time yet.
  25. All four games are winnable. I'll never root for high draft picks. McBeane says they're not tanking. Prove it.
