Three Most Likely Outcomes For The Next 4 Game Stretch
ghostwriter replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
7-3 unless Belichick completely out coaches McDermott which is very possible.. -
People gripe about Knox, how bad he sucks, how he can’t catch.. Harp on him all you want but he is young, he’s on his rookie deal/cheap contract, he makes explosive plays and when he catches the ball he runs with heart. A lot can change in two years, in the meantime we have an impressive piece of clay to mold.

Ertz is a great player but how much would Goedert cost? Wonder if they’d take a 2021 5th and maybe a conditional pick in 2022? Very cheap contract, solid albeit unspectacular player but could be a solid role player here.. I’d feel really good about Knox and Goedert.

Run blocking takes everyone on the field... from the OL down to to the TEs and even the WRs... takes everyone.. I’d argue that guards are a huge part of the run game... they pull a lot, create creases etc.. Think Dawkins, Morse and Williams will be more adequate if given more help.

1. Allen 2. Herbert I think Herbert has a much higher ceiling than Burrow.. Burrow will be a very good QB but I just love the ceiling that Herbert has.. Very Josh-like although not as gifted physically but more polished than Josh was coming out.. Kid is going to be a great QB! I always go for QBs with the higher ceilings, swing for the fences always.. Any coach worth their salt should be able to groom the higher ceiling QB to their full potential.. Burrow would be my immediate choice after Herbert..

Bills sign LB Ahmad Gooden to PS

I think Bob Kabob is wayyyy more explosive. -
No... Dawkins, Morse and Williams have been good so far. They’ve done a real good job giving Josh Allen a pocket to step into. I think RT is a far more important position than RG.. You can pancake weaker guards between your tackles and center, it can mask a mediocre guard’s talent to some degree...

Should go outside.. Think you bring in a true MLB, re-sign Milano to a 1 year prove it deal and onward we go.. I don’t think Edmunds has the brains nor toughness or nastiness to play inside and I don’t trust him to get our defense lined up in the right spots.. Not physical enough to be an enforcer in this defense.. Could have value as an outside LB.. has done a pretty good job using his speed to blitz off the edge.. Could be an asset as a coverage guy especially against some of the better TEs around the league.. He has value, he’s just playing out of position and behind a porous DL.. Not saying he’ll be great as an outside guy either, his responsibilities need to be dumbed down and the game simplified for him..

Quinton Spain released; signs with Bengals PS
ghostwriter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He had all of last year too.. Spain and Teller are both better yet he’s stuck with Ford. Why? Dawkins-Spain-Morse-Teller-Williams is much better than what we have now.. That’s actually a very good OL. Should have let Mongo and Spain fight for LG and kept Teller at RG.. Fact that we got rid of Teller, a diamond in the rough, one of the guys we drafted for subpar below average guards is concerning.. then Spain is released too only to be replaced by someone he’s better than... I’d be pissed too. Say what you want man.. -

I think Spain is and has been a better guard than Cody Ford has been... Ford was only out there because he was a high pick.. McBeane was ashamed to admit that they blew a high pick on a below average guard, a player they traded up for nonetheless... then they traded Wyatt Teller for a bag of footballs and he’s been an elite guard for the Browns.. -
I don’t think Edmunds is smart enough to be the QB of our defense nor do I believe he has the instincts neither.. I think Edmunds is having issues getting everybody lined up in the right spots.. I think he needs to go outside.. I think he could blitz off the edge well and his speed is a nightmare for tackles and I also think he’d be a great coverage guy, he’s simply playing out of position.. I think you sign Milano to a 1 year deal, he goes to WLB.. Edmunds goes to SLB and we draft or sign a real MLB in the offseason.. People say Edmunds is young... I get that... but it shouldn’t take 3 years for somebody to figure out how to play the linebacker position.. Josh Allen came out ultra raw and look at his strides and that’s at QB, the hardest position in football.. MLB should take 1-2 years tops! Heck, I’ve seen rookie linebackers come in and do a better job than he’s done.. He doesn’t like to hit, doesn’t like to get physical and he’s not very smart..

Alright buddy, not going to argue with you.. take care now. -
Zimmer needs to replace Oliver in starting lineup
ghostwriter replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I only caught one play where he got blown up so I can’t comment further.. I thought he was pretty solid compared to the rest of the DL.. -
Should be 5-2 next Sunday.. should crush the Jets.. New England OTOH is also another team we should beat... Bills should be 6-2 over the next few weeks unless Belichick completely out coaches McDermott which is possible..

Zimmer got blown up on one play, but other than that I was impressed. -
We are 4-2... We have the Jets and then the Patriots... should be 6-2 before we go up against the Seahawks.. if we lose against New England I’ll be worried but for now our record is looking pretty good going into an easy stretch.. If you want to point out certain players I’m fine with that.. Edmunds has sucked, so has Oliver amongst a few others... but this team collectively is 4-2... no way around that fact.. The Chiefs are a team that I never expected us to beat.. I expected it to be like 42-16 in an absolute crush.. but we hung in there, could have been a lot worse.. Tennessee and Kansas City have great teams, no need to lose hope yet..

Well, as I said.. I wasn’t against a second back and we did add one in Zack Moss.. What’s the difference between CEH and Devin Singletary? To me it’s OL and play calling.. I think our guards straight up stink.. Dawkins, Morse and Williams are solid but I view them more as pass protectors and not as run blockers.. With the right OL I think we’d see Singletary’s and Moss’ production go up. Moss was well looked at as a power back coming out and he’s struggled too.. think OL is the problem, not our backfield..

Gameday Thread PreGame Bills vs. Chiefs

They probably figure that teams won’t run on em much because Mahomes will put up points like a machine.. -

Scouting The Kansas City Chiefs
ghostwriter replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m not going to say that there’s no way we win this one but it’s going to be an uphill battle.. Allen can play to a level comparable to Mahomes but the Chiefs by far have the better defense and are also a much more balanced team. Chiefs have a better D and the better run game. Bills are all Allen, Mahomes has far more help and doesn’t need to do it all himself. Probably give a respectable edge to Kansas City’s coaching staff as well. Bills probably lose by quite a bit but are also very safe with a 2 game divisional lead.. -
I mean, I guess our defense could put up a fight, it is the NFL — stranger things have happened.. But I expect the Chiefs to drop 42pts on us.. And the only problem is the Chiefs defense is a heckuva lot better than ours — meaning, not only will Allen have to out duel the reigning Super Bowl champ and best QB in the game but he’ll have to do so while playing against a much harder defense than the one Mahomes will have to face... Don’t see it happening.
-
Well.. How many teams around the league boast of having a Frank Reich caliber backup QB on their roster? And if you did have a Ryan Fitzpatrick quality of backup on your team, wouldn’t you rather have the worst possible option instead? Think about it.. if Allen goes down, we’re picking top 3.. Could get a Bosa caliber player there, Garrett or a Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson.. better than finishing 8-8... If Josh goes down I want Nathan Peterman to come back to Buffalo.. give me the worst possible QB imaginable if Josh goes down.. load up on ridiculous talent to load our roster up with for when Josh comes back..

Is Josh changing how college QBs are scouted?
ghostwriter replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Texas Tech was viewed as a school that ran a college system that wouldn’t translate well to the pros.. People thought Mahomes was a product of that system.. Mahomes like Allen coming out was rough around the edges but ultra talented.. poor mechanics but elite arm strength and supremely talented.. Lamar fits in here as well in the sense that he was off the charts as far as talent is concerned but many wondered if he had the brains to be a good passer.. Point being, nobody thought these guys were pro ready by any means, all had question marks and concerns.. It goes to show you that when drafting a QB, potential is something you covet above all else because if your coaching staff is worth their beans, the QB with the higher potential threshold will be the better QB in the long run over lesser talented pro ready QBs.. (Mayfield, Darnold, Rosen) vs (Allen, Mahomes, Jackson) I count two MVPs on the project QB list and none on the pro ready list. Always draft for potential.. swing for the fences every time.. if your staff can’t develop a QB, that coaching staff will be out the door in three years time anyways.. -
