So you’re saying that Worley won’t be any good then? I tend to keep quiet when I don’t know what I’m talking bout.. I will trust Beane and McD over my opinion any day... but I am growing frustrated with the concept of signing every former ex-Panther to a deal when they hit free agency.. I can understand if that player is truly good but at this point we’re turning into the Carolina Bills.. familiarity is a great thing — but if you limit yourself to only players you’re familiar with then I think you’re limiting yourself in a pretty big way.. especially if the players you’re signing are from cellar dwelling teams.. I too disapprove of the rah rah circle jerks... I would rather that we are honest with our feelings.. Some posters like to talk us up after a win, only to have a meltdown after every loss.. I think those people are my least favorite... I tend to lurk more than I post... 99% of the time I spend here is reading.... YMMV

I think he’s going to be just fine.. Doubt he’ll be a 20 sack a year kind of guy but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him post double digit sacks multiple times over the course of his career.. I actually think he’ll be good.

You absolutely pay for a good QB, not just for an elite one.. Every snap goes through the QBs hands, they have the most say in the outcome of a game.. I think after that you must cherry pick whom else you are paying.. LT, C, WR, DE, MLB, CB & S.. Never pay a RB, never pay a DT.. RBs get hurt and their success is largely reliant on the OL.. DTs get lazy once you pay them.. You simply have to draft well and you must stockpile depth and talent and make trades so you can fill in the roster with cheap talent.. Trade down in the draft, groom backup QBs you can deal for high picks.. Good but not great players that are looking to get paid, you deal them for multiple picks so you can keep the cap down.. Playing the compensatory pick game, etc... Look no further than the Bucs... bottom feeders last year to overtaking the Saints for the NFC South..

Really liked what I saw outta Moss

Yes. Travis Henry hit so hard that you could hear it from the top row in the stadium.. -
Rewatched the Jets game, not good for Edmunds.
ghostwriter replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, yeah.. Until they get traded or cut, then of course that player sucks! I try not to dig my heels in when I’m wrong.. nobody likes humiliation but of course pride can get in the way.. Personally I think Edmunds needs to go outside! I’ve seen him blitz very well off the edge with his speed and he has very nice bend too.. very hard for tackles to even lay a finger on him.. Would be a great coverage guy to put on some of these freaky TE guys around the league... Not a bad guy to backup that MLB spot in the process.. He’s very young and I understand that, but sometimes that lack of experience works against you.. A “project” player can take years to come along and some of them never do.. -

Yeah, dude.. I agree.. but there are those type of people out there who fight me on this.. I wonder, how can they not see what I’m seeing? I think that Edmunds has also had a hard time getting the defense lined up in the right spots.. Just seems like a really dumb football player.. lacks physicality and toughness as well.. I want my MLB to send off vibes like he is going to murder people... well not literally (Ray Lewis)... but you know what I mean.. I’ve seen him completely bounce off of little 5’8 205lbs RBs before.. Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran over him like a freaking mack truck.. little 205lbs RBs and he’s like a gnat on a windshield.. -
It’s clear at this time that Brady is more than a system QB.. And it’s obvious that Belichick can’t magically turn Newton or Stidham into a good QB.. Think Belichick needs a chance to draft his own replacement QB before we can determine who is responsible for New England’s success.. Did Belichick develop Brady into what he is and he simply needs a more talented QB to groom? I don’t know. Regardless, I highly doubt that their next QB is even remotely as good as Brady was..

That’s true but I think that getting off to a hot start vs a cold start is very important.. We’re 5-2 largely because of a weaker schedule.. had the Bills played the Seahawks, Chiefs and 49ers to start the year then many fans would be saying the season is over.. Patriots OTOH have to be flawless to make the playoffs..

Matt Milano is more important to keep than edmunds
ghostwriter replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Milano won’t get a big deal.. he’s been injured and our defense has been struggling.. we’ll likely see a 1 year prove it deal.. Handing a big contract out to him would be crazy., -
Yeah... I don’t think overpaying for players is such a great idea when we have so many holes either.. Probably better off just waiting till the draft.. Allen is good, real good but not Championship level good yet, hopefully he’s at that level next year.. Probably a year away, this team needs some seasoning.. Holes everywhere..

I think you let Bass audition for the rest of the year.. he’s had a few slip ups within the 30-39 yard range but he’s also crushed some pretty difficult kicks that were 50 yards or longer.. We won’t find a better kicker in free agency, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.. the talent is there..

Patriots 2-4 without Brady... Bucs 5-2 with Brady.. 🤔
-
What else could he do really? I understand the call, I understand the hit.

Daboll and the state of the Bills

It’s all my fault.. I changed my avatar to a Josh Allen picture and we’ve been on a slide ever since.. -
Why the defense got it's mojo back
ghostwriter replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Because the Jets aren’t that good.. Talk to me when our defense dominates a good team. -
I'd like to see Moss featured tomorrow...
ghostwriter replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure on Moss, not a huge sampling size. I thought he was a good prospect coming out but Singletary is a grinder.. With a better OL I think Singletary could be pretty darn good.. Not saying Moss won’t be good but I definitely think Singletary is the superior back and even if Moss becomes good, I don’t think it’d change that.. -
Should Romo be an NFL coach?

Okay, let me see if I can put together a coherent sentence... coffee is still percolating.. For whatever reason I don’t think Alabama QBs translate well to the NFL.. He played for a school that had superior talent all around him... pretty much a 4 star or 5 star recruit at every position around him while going up against schools that had maybe half as many commitments than Alabama.. Shoot, Alabama’s backups could probably beat most D1 teams.. Now here he is in Miami, playing for a team that is less talented than most NFL teams — can he elevate his game? He goes from the hunters to the hunted.. Weak roster all around him, is he really that good or did he benefit from playing for Nick Saban and that Alabama team?

Three Most Likely Outcomes For The Next 4 Game Stretch
ghostwriter replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
7-3 unless Belichick completely out coaches McDermott which is very possible.. -
People gripe about Knox, how bad he sucks, how he can’t catch.. Harp on him all you want but he is young, he’s on his rookie deal/cheap contract, he makes explosive plays and when he catches the ball he runs with heart. A lot can change in two years, in the meantime we have an impressive piece of clay to mold.
-
Ertz is a great player but how much would Goedert cost? Wonder if they’d take a 2021 5th and maybe a conditional pick in 2022? Very cheap contract, solid albeit unspectacular player but could be a solid role player here.. I’d feel really good about Knox and Goedert.
-
Run blocking takes everyone on the field... from the OL down to to the TEs and even the WRs... takes everyone.. I’d argue that guards are a huge part of the run game... they pull a lot, create creases etc.. Think Dawkins, Morse and Williams will be more adequate if given more help.

1. Allen 2. Herbert I think Herbert has a much higher ceiling than Burrow.. Burrow will be a very good QB but I just love the ceiling that Herbert has.. Very Josh-like although not as gifted physically but more polished than Josh was coming out.. Kid is going to be a great QB! I always go for QBs with the higher ceilings, swing for the fences always.. Any coach worth their salt should be able to groom the higher ceiling QB to their full potential.. Burrow would be my immediate choice after Herbert..
