Bills FO likely to get poached for GM candidates
ghostwriter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only may some other team may poach one, but we may find that Daboll brings Schoen or Gaines with him wherever he goes.. -
The Ike Boettger appreciation thread
ghostwriter replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand the Ike love and I appreciate this thread. Ryan Bates is also criminally underrated as well.. -
To be Blount the Bills Run Game has Beane in a Slump !
ghostwriter replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thing that confuses me the most about our OL is.. Dawkins, Morse, Williams and Boettger, Feliciano, Bates and Ford to a lesser degree are all serviceable linemen.. We have quite the logjam.. Pass protection is good but run blocking is inadequate.. I’m curious as to what McD does this offseason to resolve this issue.. -
Week 14: Steelers at Bills on SNF
ghostwriter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They’ve beat a few good teams (Ravensx2, Titans, Browns) but yes... by n large they’ve had a really easy schedule.. lost to the Redskins .. very beatable despite what the record says.. I expect the Bills to off them.. -
Confirmed: Moss benched after fumble

I think you put him right back in against the Steelers.. -
End of the Carson Wentz Era

Colts would make sense for Wentz.. I’m not sure how all the linguistics will play out but I could see that.. Would be the best fit for him.. -
Playbooks staying and leaving with Daboll
ghostwriter replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Daboll would covet the Chargers gig more than any other.. Herbert in my mind has top 5 QB in the NFL potential.. I think if Mike McCarthy is a one and done in Dallas, that may be a good spot for Daboll as well.. But the Lions, Bengals, Falcons, Jets and Texans? Yikes.. Better off waiting for a good organization to come calling.. -
I’d rather see Anthony Lynn brought in as OC/running game coordinator and potentially keep Dorsey as our QB coach/passing game coordinator.. Chad Hall WR coach should be retained if possible as should Bobby Johnson OL coach.. Think collectively between Lynn, Dorsey and Allen we’d be cooking on offense..
-
If Anthony Lynn gets fired in LA, I’d love to potentially bring him back as our OC if our staff gets gutted.. He may not be a HC but he has always established a darn good running game and he did real good with Herbert. Wouldn’t have to worry about other teams poaching him as he is not HC material. A running game behind Allen is a scary thought..

Is if Daboll gets a head coaching gig somewhere else and McDermott doesn’t fill the cupboards after Daboll leaves.. It’s looking more n more like Daboll will be gone this offseason.. And Sean McDermott being the defensive minded coach that he is will be charged with the task of finding a new OC and offensive staff.. This will likely determine if coach McD will be here for 5 more years or if he’ll be gone in two.. Will McD embellish the job of being a HC, or will he prove to simply be a glorified DC? Obviously you’d like to see him grow into the role of HC the way Bill Belichick did in New England and master both sides of the ball.. But will McDermott have the knowledge and insight to replace our offensive staff next year in the event that our coaching staff gets gutted? Will he be able to keep the system the same for Josh? Will he hire the next Brian Daboll? Or will he hire the next Rick Dennison? This could very well determine the length of Sean McDermott’s stay in Buffalo..

We have our franchise quarterback
ghostwriter replied to BuffBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need a true pass rusher and a big fat NT in addition to Star.. I think you do that and our defense gets a lot more stout against the run. Our OL also needs some help. -
How about Aaron Jones at RB next year?
ghostwriter replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As somebody pointed out.. The better your QB is, the lesser you need to pay a RB.. The lesser your QB is, the more you should pay a RB.. At this point I think Buffalo needs to go OL.. As far as Bell is concerned, he was a 3rd round pick.. The Steelers beat the tires on him for 4-5 years and then wisely let him walk.. Bell made $15M/yr.. That’s about the going rate for a top 5 OG or a top 5 RT — two positions we could use to upgrade.. Ideally you build that OL to the point where an UDFA can get you 5 yards a pop. -
It’s official. The New York Jets legendarily suck!
ghostwriter replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trevor Lawrence reminds me a lot of Justin Herbert.. I think that’s what kind of player you’re getting there.. I don’t think he’s the once in a generation talent that people are making him out to be but he should be really good.. He’s probably your best bet at finding a good coach.. Regardless, who wants to coach in the AFCE? Arguably one of the toughest divisions in the NFL.. -

Well.. I think you’re better off adding an offensive minded coach.. I think if Lawrence does come out, that could potentially attract a great coach to marry to Lawrence.. If I were a Jets fan I’d probably be pushing for Jim Harbough.. It’s a tough sell though.. the AFC East is a pretty tough division these days.. Very very very tough division.. but once again, the prospect of drafting Trevor Lawrence may attract a quality HC.. -

I think Becton will be a good LT.. And I liked Mims coming out.. I think the Jets will likely take Lawrence.. See if you can get a 2nd plus some other picks for Darnold.. Probably add another WR and some OL help in RD2.. Regardless, this is going to be an uphill battle for the Jets.. Both Miami and Buffalo look like they’ll be continuous playoff contenders for the next 5-6 years and New England is a team that will always be tough to beat with Belichick there.. Doesn’t look good for the Jets.. -
Shoot.. I’m a musician and I like guys like Kurt Cobain, Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, Elliott Smith, John Lennon and Hank Williams Sr etc. Most of these guys were drunks and heavy into drugs! If I had a platform like Josh Allen I’d be telling kids to stay in school and not do drugs.. Many of my favorite musicians died way too early.. Very sad thing to see kids doing hard drugs at 10 or 12 years old.. wasn’t like that when I was a kid.. 😓

Thing that Josh needs to realize is... He is one person and millions of people all across the country are going to want a piece of him! I LOVE Rueben Brown forever and forever more after he brought John Fina and Jim Kelly over with him to sign an autograph for me n my brother.. Guess what? Jimbo only signed an autograph for my brother, not me! His wife was pressuring Jim to leave and it looked like he didn’t want to be there.. I’m not going to lie, it stung a little bit but I realized that Jim Kelly was only one dude and there was 100 kids around him. I was just overjoyed to be in the presence of Jim Kelly! I was like 5 feet away from him! I still love Jim Kelly to this day and I’m not even slightly upset over it! Exemplary dude and I love him so much, he’s a great human being. With that said Rueben Brown is still my all time favorite Bill! 😃 But what do you do when people want more than you can give? You can’t please everybody. Sometimes you have to say no. Even to a child, even to your friend from high school or a family member especially when you get that second contract! Saying no sometimes is absolutely fine.

Josh Allen on Pat Mcafee show at 1225.
ghostwriter replied to 17islongenough's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s only going to get better, that’s the scary thing. Josh is a manimal. Imagine him year 4 or year 5. I’m embarrassed that I had him #2 behind Baker Mayfield coming out. 😱 Kid is very smart. Doesn’t exalt himself but is quietly confident in his team and his abilities. Absolutely love how he said that winning the division is his goal and after that anything can happen in the playoffs. So true. Beat the tar out of the Patriots, Jets and Dolphins for the next 15 years PLEASE Josh!!! 😆👍 -
How about Aaron Jones at RB next year?
ghostwriter replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Star will be back.. Plug him in next to Oliver and our starters at interior DL will be stablished. Zimmer and Phillips fight for a spot behind Oliver and Buffalo hopefully adds another 1 tech behind Star.. So yes, Butler, Jefferson and Matakevich should be easily replaced.. I’d also like to see us move on from Addison and Murphy as well. I believe Epenesa will be a quality Edge.. I don’t know what the draft board looks like, but it would be amazing if we could add a quality DE with that 1st pick.. It’d be great to see us increase Epenesa’s snaps going into the playoffs.. I was concerned about Hughes over the first half of the season but he’s really picked it up.. Might as well n try n get one more good year out of him and then let him walk.. Best case scenario is there’s a blue chip DE prospect when we pick at 32.. Would have a pretty solid rotation going on with him, Epenesa, Hughes and Johnson. -
AJ Klein: Tremaine Edmunds "a True Mike"
ghostwriter replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well.. Once again, I don’t think we should give anyone titles.. Between playing Will, Mike and Sam we’ll likely see percentages. If it’s 3rd and short, why not have Klein at Mike and blitz him up the gut? If it’s 3rd and long, why not plug Edmunds in at Mike? Whomever is playing Mike should be determined based off of the situation. Mix it up and vice versa. -
How about Aaron Jones at RB next year?

Nope. You don’t pay RBs. Singletary and Moss will be just fine, build that OL. And when Singletary and Moss’ contracts are up, draft another RB in the 3rd round. Rinse and repeat.- 135 replies

AJ Klein: Tremaine Edmunds "a True Mike"
ghostwriter replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Edmunds has mega potential at Will and Sam. In passing situations he is a very good Mike. I disagree that he can’t blitz. I’ve seen him get good pressure and even push offensive linemen backwards when he rushes. Is he Luke Kuechly? Hell naw. He’ll never be a top 5 elite MLB. He’ll never be a Ray Lewis. He does have great versatility though which is extremely valuable. He can play Mike, Will and Sam at a pretty decent level. He should be moved all over. He is not an elite MLB, but he’s a good LB. I hope his contract reflects that. If he’s willing to take $9M-$10Myr I’d love to have him back when it comes time.
