I’m right there with you. If the $$$ is right, I would love to see him back.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
ghostwriter replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who knows? Maybe you find yourself in a Matt Cassel situation? It’s possible. He has a decent arm, not great but okay, good enough. He had pretty solid production at Georgia. If you remember, some had him as a RD2 pick and he slipped for various reasons. Personally I think Josh is elite, I’m a big fan of his, but if you can develop players like Fromm and Trubisky behind him we’re just going to end up with more draft picks. Their combined salary is like $3M. Who cares? -

I’m not so sure about that. You could be right, obviously it doesn’t take a mathematician to calculate the odds of Fromm being a starting NFL QB or not, but that doesn’t mean you don’t load the pipeline and develop players behind Josh. Who knows? You might get lucky. -
Allen will likely be extended this offseason

He’s only going to get better, make him happy. -
Trubisky is superior, better everything. I think he took less money to play here because he wants to audition for a starting job somewhere if Allen goes down. Here he will have a solid OL and great weapons, he likely wouldn’t of had that had he went to a marginal team. I think he was mishandled early on in his career and I think he views Buffalo as a stable option for him. He’s an accurate passer and he has a better arm than Barkley, younger and more experienced, similar price tag. Also, I would not give up on Fromm quite yet, I think he sticks around. Still a solid prospect to groom. We’re stacked at QB.

Trubisky keeps this team competitive if Allen goes down for 3-4 weeks. Very accurate, gets the ball out quickly, takes care of the ball.. Pretty much a perfect fit for the Erhardt-Perkins offense. Premium backup, I’d argue that he’s a better player than Cam. Trubisky has never had weapons like this.. I mean, Diggs, Sanders and Beasley.. their strengths as receivers play well into what Trubisky does well as a QB. This could turn into future draft picks... if not you have a great backup for years to come. Our season is over if Barkley ever saw the field for an extended time, Trubisky can manage games and keep us in it.

Unless we get Ertz. -

I don’t think so, not necessarily. He could be a great developmental prospect. What would you do if you could sign a talent like Trubisky for $2.5M? Trubisky could potentially yield future draft picks if this plays out a certain way. -
I hope so. Hopefully it means a deal is getting close.

If we don’t get Ertz, I think it’s pretty obvious that we’ll be drafting a TE this year. I do think Knox will improve, I do like his potential and I do think Sweeney may actually turn out to be decent. But no Lee Smith, no Tyler Kroft, we clearly have an obvious void there. Would love Ertz. -
I’m not going to pretend like this wouldn’t help them. Mims, Davis and JuJu is a solid 1-2-3 punch but in the end it doesn’t matter, they won’t catch the Bills.
-
You know, I’d rather have Trubisky than Newton. I actually think Trubisky would fit New England’s offense extremely well.
-
This scheme just seems so perfect for a player like Trubisky.
-
Draft DL, trade for Ertz. You end up overpaying for marginal talents at DE, just draft one. Drafting a good TE is harder to predict. One may go top 10 and then in 3-4 years they’re simply a marginal talent. Think Ertz is a proven commodity, an elite one at that, which would cost less than an average DE.
-
Me thinks this as well, timing is strange.

Brown missed a lot of time though.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]

Ertz would be incredible. I think he could easily produce for another 3 maybe 4 years. His stock is low, won’t cost much and could potentially contribute at an elite level. He would be a major piece to this offense. Hunter would probably destroy our cap situation, I want Carlos “Boogie” Basham Jr, EDGE, Wake Forest. -
The way I see it.. Even if Sanders isn’t what he once was, he will still be an excellent #4 WR. Let’s say Davis is lights out, Sanders can get you 45-60 catches. That’s a BIG upgrade over Isaiah McKenzie.

I got a bad feeling about this.

Ertz Discussing Contract with Buffalo?

Right, but I wouldn’t give up more than a 4th for him, which this year we have none. Unless they’d make a player for player trade? -

Ertz would be incredible. Wouldn’t want to give up too much for him though, a bit on the older side. Maybe a 5th? -
John Ross as WR replacement for JohnBrown
ghostwriter replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dalton never had much of an arm, neither does Burrow and although I love Burrow and I think he will be a great QB, he doesn’t necessarily have an elite arm, he’s more of a surgeon. Ross could be deadly if paired with Allen. I do think he would be an upgrade over McKenzie, especially with Daboll using Ross in design plays to get the ball to him. Wouldn’t pay a whole lot but yes I do think he would do a lot better here with Allen & Daboll. -

Sure, they may give you little tid bits to create media attention and fan interest but they’ll never really tip their hand in any way. Haven’t been to buffalobills.com in over a decade.
