  1. I absolutely understand what you’re getting at. I do think it’s important. We need a better OL and we need a more violent and aggressive front seven. In my mind, you go pass rush at #30. At #61 I think you can do a myriad of different things here. Could go DT, could go LB, could go corner even. Need more OL help for sure, but shall we cut Morse or let Feliciano and Williams walk when our defensive front seven is in tatters? I think not. At this point we are begging for Ford to turn into a big nasty guard. Could add depth on the OL RDs 3-7.
  2. Give me JJ Watt Darryl Williams Jon Feliciano Mitchell Trubisky Think Watt could explode for a monster year and his tag isn’t as steep and our investment is noncommittal. Darryl Williams and Jon Feliciano should be retained. Both are solid players and bring stability to the OL. No brainer, bring them back. Mitchell Trubisky would be a great two year rental. Can be rehabilitated, can become a starter in this league. Daboll and Dorsey can help this kid out, would be a very good option behind Allen. Deal him for picks in the future.
  3. @GunnerBill @NewEra It’s all good. All I ask is that you guys show me some love after Boogie rises up boards after the Combine or after the Bills draft him! 😆
  4. It’s all good my friend. I get grief for saying it. I’m not going to change my mind 100 times between now and draft day. Boogie is my guy and I’m sticking to it. I expect him to perform big at the Combine. Will rise. Obviously I absolutely love Owusu and Collins as well and a strong case can be made for Najee Harris also if you look at it from a certain POV. That’s about where I’m at right now. Hoping for a stud OL somewhere in the second.. Maybe Creed Humphrey, maybe Liam Eichenberg, we’ll see.
  5. Honestly. I love what Barkley did to help Allen, to me that is immeasurable. Would he give us a better chance to win over Tyrod, Fitzpatrick or Trubisky? Absolutely not. My ideal backup would be Trubisky. I think Daboll and Dorsey could fix this kid and maybe we’d be looking at compensation in a few years. Put him on a winning team, with winning coaches, lots of help, I think he could become a starting quality QB here eventually. Trade for picks in a few years.
  6. He was great at the Senior Bowl, will rise. I think he’ll perform well at the Combine as well. Look at his tape, tell me he’s not explosive. Can play inside or out. Put him at LE and Epenesa on the right, much better than Phillips.
  7. In 5th grade I was forced to play against 7th and 8th graders because of my size, was very good. They had to shut a game down early one time because I got so many sacks that they were scared their QB was going to get hurt. I played DT and wore #78. I got a bad, like really bad concussion because the coach was a moron and had us running a dangerous drill in which his son, the RB went around head butting everyone as hard as he could while we were standing in a circle. There was no way I could ever go pro. I knew this early on. Pretty smart for a 10-11 year old kid. Even at that young age I saw some really bad injuries, knew I wasn’t good enough to do anything with it, moved on. No point in wrecking your body over some dumb BS. The CTE stuff wasn’t out yet, but when you get your bell rung as bad as I did, you just knew there was going to be consequences going forward if I continued to play football. Years later my High school coach wanted me to join the team, never did. Was just a big kid who really loved lifting weights. He actually played pro for the Rams and Eagles. Very nice guy. VERY big dude.
  8. How many teams even run the 3-4 these days anyways? Regardless he had 4 interceptions last year. Makes more sense for him to drop 5-10lbs than gain 10-15. I don’t think he has the bend to be a pure DE, but he has pretty decent quickness and awareness to do well in zone. He has great power, so I think if you do blitz him and he has a few steps to accelerate he could easily bulldoze linemen and get by them with sheer power. Obviously I’m not shy when it comes to Boogie, he is my best case scenario as I think he will be the best EDGE in the draft but Zaven Collins is my second guy right behind him.. Think Collins will be a very good OLB in the NFL, much better than Milano. Both players are projected to go within that same range.. Late 1st, early to mid 2nd. Boogie is more of a pure pass rusher and I put emphasis on that position but if Boogie is gone, I want Zaven Collins.
  9. I like him too. He has Shaq Barrett like potential and he’s better than most people think in coverage. Some view him as a tweener in this defense with no real position but I think they’re wrong. Probably my second favorite option for us with that first pick.
  10. Could be, but at this point his contract is palatable. Think you add a couple guys in the draft and let them compete. Can typically find good IL prospects in the bottom of second and top of the third. Good tackle prospects are hard to come by unless you take one in the first or top of the second. Think you re-sign Daryl Williams and add an interior lineman in the second. Should be loaded with talent, although thinner at tackle than we’d like. Hopefully we can add a project to groom behind Dawkins and Williams.
  11. 30. Carlos Basham Jr. EDGE Wake Forest 61. Creed Humphrey OC Oklahoma • Carlos Basham would be a Day 1 starter. You plug him in at LE, Epenesa goes to the right side. Hopefully we restructure Jerry Hughes and perhaps sign a guy like JJ Watt to come in and compete for a year or two while also mentoring the young guys. • Creed Humphrey is a very good interior line prospect. I’m a firm believer in building through the trenches. Could very well be a Pro Bowl guard or center, great run blocker and pass protector. Good talent and depth between Ford, Morse, Feliciano and Humphrey. Becomes a high end starter by the end of the year at either guard or center. A+ talent.
  12. I’m on the Boogie Basham bandwagon because I think he is a 10-12 sack per year kind of guy, but if he is gone, I’m not against drafting a CB in the first round. I’d much rather have Collins or Owusu but they might be gone as well. If we can draft another corner that is as good as Tre or within that ballpark, I think that could dramatically improve our defense. Taking away teams #1 and #2 receivers is a huge plus for this defense. At that point you can double the Travis Kelce’s and Rob Gronkowski’s of the world, but once again, I am firmly on the Boogie Basham bandwagon, he is my favorite prospect in the draft.
  13. NFL will have no problem rebounding.. If this is the minimum, I expect the number they settle on to be much higher than this.
  14. I don’t see much issue with the compensation. Wentz is an okay QB, good enough to win a lot of games with the right coaching and supporting cast. Contract is a bit iffy but I doubt the Colts could get a better QB in the draft. This move probably makes them an 11 win team.
  15. He’s worth keeping for another year but I agree that this line could use a few upgrades.
  16. He’s our 5th receiver, 4th receiver at best if John Brown is gone. Rather draft a player on a cheap rookie deal for 4 years with more upside. Maybe he gets $3M maybe.
  17. DE is one of the hardest positions to play in the NFL, whereas RBs can transition right away. Too early.
  18. It’s still early for me, still trying to get a feel for the draft but I like: Carlos Basham, DE, Wake Forest Zaven Collins, OLB, Tulsa Jeremiah Owusu, LB, Norte Dame Hoping we can grab an interior lineman or tackle depth in RD2. TE RD3-4.
  19. Agree to disagree is fine by me. I’m sure we’ll likely agree in some other thread on some other random topic, no love lost. I just think you’re salty over the Chiefs game. Chris Jones is what he is, probably the best DT in the NFL not named Aaron Donald.
  20. I wanted the Bills to draft both these guys. They played for the Gators with Tim Tebow IIRC.
  21. Even a slightly below average retread gets $5M. Any FA making less than that is likely a bottom of the barrel, backup lineman who will likely be a camp body at best. Feliciano can play guard and he can also play center, that versatility is extremely valuable. Outside of being handled by Chris Jones, which I will absolutely admit, he got handled, but outside of that he looked like a quality lineman. Not an All Pro, but a respectable lineman to put in front of Josh. Not elite, but solid. I see no need to make a hole there, won’t find a better free agent for the money and we only have so many draft picks, which we would be wise to spend a 2nd or 3rd on a few linemen as is anyways.
