  1. Defense is by far the most important aspect as far as how far we go. Allen and co can drop 40 on you no problem, but if this defense can put Brady and Mahomes on their rear ends, we have ourselves a complete football team. I do like Boogie and Rousseau, we certainly added a few quality pass rushers and I do think we will add another corner somewhere during camp cuts/preseason cuts/salary cuts. How much progress this defense will make remains to be seen, but it is absolutely vital if we intend on winning a Super Bowl.
  2. Oh, I agree but there is zero chance we don’t add a veteran corner.
  3. I understand this sentiment, but we did get Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson pretty late in the draft too. Also, there is a chance a solid corner shakes free after other teams start trimming their rosters, we’ll see. We likely add a veteran corner sometime in the next few months IMO.
  4. He reminds me a little of Chris Jones, except he’s smaller. Your Carlos Dunlap comparison though is shocking.. Nearly identical numbers. If he’s anything like Dunlop or Jones I’m good with the pick. 👍
  5. I think both Boogie and Rousseau will be very good players (especially Boogie) but boy o boy, for a team needing a pass rush did they ever hit on those two first picks. Barring salary cap hell or a major breakdown, I think both these guys will get second contracts with the Bills eventually. Spencer Brown and Tommy Doyle will both be good players, probably not elite ones, but quality NFL linemen who will keep Josh upright. Don’t see any Pro Bowl or HOF caliber talents there, but really solid and smart picks nonetheless.
  6. This only makes the Bills approach to the draft look that much smarter. Four adequate, serviceable tackles.
  7. I see us adding a veteran corner sometime before the regular season. Richard Sherman is plan b, they’re hoping a quality corner becomes available during training camp or via roster cut trim downs. Tight end is obviously another position that could use to be upgraded. Here’s the thing, Dawson Knox is a guy who can be more than adequate if things click for him, so I don’t think we exactly need a guy like Zach Ertz, although I think he would be highly sought after by the Bills if the opportunity presented itself. Regardless, I think another veteran will be added here as well, even if it’s just an average joe to pair up with Dawson. Bills could also use another 1T. Harrison Phillips is a guy whom they may think can provide some decent depth behind Star, but ultimately, that’s a wildcard. Could happen, may not, but if an obvious upgrade were to present itself here, the Bills will likely add depth and competition for training camp/preseason. So basically I see the Bills eyeing trimmings from the rest of the NFL to provide depth at these positions. They don’t necessarily have to be starters, just competent players to add depth to the mix.
  8. Your language is strong at the end, but the message behind your post I largely agree with. One ring with Rodgers as your QB? One ring with Favre as your QB? C’mon man. The way they build their team is really underwhelming. One would argue that if Rodgers played for New England he would probably have 4-5 rings, maybe not as many as Brady but still, this guy is great. Green Bay has gotten very lucky with QBs over the years, if it weren’t for that they would look a lot like the drought year teams in Buffalo.
  9. I believe another corner will be added. Could easily create space by dumping Addison and Butler provided if we don’t somehow end up with Ertz.
  10. I think a good option will be available as teams start to trim their roster. I also feel the same about TE. We’re not done at those two positions.
  11. I think they keep Obada over Addison. Also, I’m pretty sure we can free up some coin if we cut Addison. Boogie and Rousseau need those reps anyhow. Keep Hughes around as the veteran guy in the locker room. Hopefully by the end of the year Hughes is just a rotational guy and not a starter and he can provide a boost in key moments. Phillips vs Butler vs Zimmer should be a heck of a dog fight. Butler is likely the most talented, but if there is very little drop off between Harry and Zimmer, releasing Butler can free up money for maybe a guy like Zach Ertz or if a good corner shakes free during TC/preseason cuts. So I guess, in closing, there’s two guys who can free up a substantial amount of money if released and that’s Butler and Addison. You could add Jerry Hughes to that list but he is highly respected within the organization and he could not only be a great mentor to Rousseau and Boogie but a really darn good rotational guy by the end of the year. If at all possible I hope Daryl Johnson and Justin Zimmer go straight to the PS. These two guys are great depth if someone goes down. Like both of them as developmental guys. As far as the rest of the roster, especially at TE and CB, I don’t think we’re done here. I expect at least 1 or 2 more additions here.
  12. Blame or no blame, the fate of McD is the same as Beane’s. Mahomes was an extremely attractive QB in that draft, he had just about everything you’d ever want in a QB. Once again, McD passed on a sure fire 1st ballot HOF at QB for a meager 1st round pick. I will admit however that I’m glad we ended up with Josh Allen and not Mahomes. Very risky situation though. We had no QB and a great one was available. We got the best QB in the 2018 Draft, but he was the third one taken, that’s pretty darn lucky dude. That could have ended disastrously bad. If we picked one QB in that draft not named Josh Allen, that whole situation would have been one of the most crushing blunders in Bills history, even worst than passing on Orakpo for Maybin or taking Mike Williams over Bryant McKinnie or trading Daryl Lamonica to the Raiders combined. Huge bullet dodged.
  13. Yes. Although Beane was not the GM at the time, had he whiffed on Josh Allen and say took the “Right Josh”, his career as a GM would be chopped liver. McD really lucked out in that regard. It’s not common that you pass on a top 2-3 QB only to draft a different top 2-3 QB a year later. Passing on Mahomes could have destroyed McD/Beane’s career for sure.
  14. B Although we got three really good starters, we passed on Mahomes. I understand we have Josh Allen who is a top 2-3 QB, but it was a risky move. Not to toot my own horn, but I wanted Mahomes that year. It worked out in the end though, but had we not landed Josh, this could have been a career ender for McD/Beane.
  15. I think he has a quick first step, good leverage and turns speed into power. High effort guy, nasty kind of guy who can play every spot on the DL. Problem I had is I liked him so much I thought he would have been worthy of our first pick. Very solid production at Wake Forest, I liked that a lot, a lot more than someone like that Oweh kid from PSU who had zero sacks.
  16. If anything, I think this would effect him long term.. Epilepsy + CTE? Yikes..
  17. I like how you say drafting is an inexact science. It’s cool to have opinions, but boy o boy some of these draft gurus are so full of themselves it’s so annoying. I don’t mean to exalt myself because really, I’ve missed on some picks as well, I mean horribly at times but there’s 2 players I felt really strongly about over the years: Josh Allen and Carlos Basham. At times I felt like certain posters here wanted to tar and feather me for liking these guys. I don’t know, the draft should be fun.
  18. Maybe a good one shakes free during training camp/preseason cuts?
