Good post.

Well, you could be right about Williams, although I thought that our line did really good last year when our starting lineup was: Dawkins/Bates/Morse/Williams/Brown Dawkins is a known commodity at this point and Brown is a guy who I thought flashed very solid potential at times, so I don’t think you send either of them to the bench. The main issue I have, which you have kindly illuminated is the Williams at RG situation. The main issue at this point is money. If Dawkins or Brown went down, you could do much worse than bumping Williams back out to RT. I will also say that this Linderbaum kid would not be a bad choice by any stretch of the imagination. Drafting him in my mind would be highly understandable and this is coming from a guy who thinks that Morse is criminally underrated by most Bills fans. Also, in the event that we did draft Linderbaum, if he’s even there, that would greatly solidify our interior OL and would make the idea of losing Darry Williams much more justifiable and understandable. Not to mention that our 3 starting IOL at this point would all have tremendous potential on sweeps, pull plays and getting to second level, which coincidentally is the same reason why I see a hope and a future for Spencer Brown. All in all, I’m more than good with Linderbaum, but I’m also good with half a dozen or so picks there as well.

I think the Bills have 3 solid tackles in Dawkins, Brown and Williams and Doyle is a solid backup kind of player. If we go OL RD1, give me Linderbaum preferably and by a wide margin and give me the Zion Johnson kid if Linderbaum is gone.

I am eager to see the weigh ins and the Combine drills. Unlike McKenzie, I think he has the frame to take big hits. He is more so built like Cole Beasley but he has the speed and athleticism of Isaiah McKenzie. People have gone on and on about how this offense needs speed, this is your guy. I like him in a trade down scenario or if he is there for us in RD2. It may even make sense for Buffalo to go BPA in RD1 and then to trade up in RD2 to nab him. I think one of the greatest questions that we may ask ourselves going into the draft is: Would we rather have 2-3 impact players or would we rather add a lot of depth? I am firmly against trading up in RD1, I find it to be way too costly, but I adore the idea of Buffalo moving up in RDs 2, 3, 4 as I think there is more value to be had in doing so in these rounds. Back to Wan’Dale, I have a bottom of the first round grade on him. I’m hoping that Buffalo can trade some of our dead weight so we can move up in RDs 2, 3, 4. Guys like Feliciano and Ford and maybe even Edmunds could net us picks that could potentially land us some potential difference makers in the draft. I think amassing multiple picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds year after year is the best way to build a team, but I cannot ignore the impact of a potential difference maker in RD1.

If that were so, I doubt that they would replace him with his son!

Do yourself a favor, look him up.

Yay, we finally agree on something!

Understandable. Our staff can develop corners, that’s a fact and that’s beyond a truthful statement. The problem I’m having though is that Tre is coming off an ACL and we have little to nothing behind him. Although the production of Levi and Dane is highly commendable, they still cannot go toe-to-toe against elite receivers like Hill and Kelce, no matter how well coached they are. God given ability still factors in. What most folks do not realize is that having two shutdown corners will only benefit our run defense. If you can put two corners on an island, Buffalo can put a safety in the box against power run teams and will also allow us to blitz more. I think the thing most people leave out in terms of drafting a corner high is the flexibility that this would open up in terms of play calling on defense. Kaiir Elam or Andrew Booth RD1 would seriously ramp up this defense on many levels as I mentioned above. It’s not the most palatable pick for most fans, so your reluctance there is highly understandable but I think it would help us overcome some of the high octane offenses that we’ll face in the playoffs. What would the Mac Jones, Tua Tagovoila and Zach Wilson’s of the world do against us? Our defensive line would easily ransack these weapon deprived/languishing QBs. It’s also worth pointing out that the Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers would have a harder time as well. Ultimately I want either Elam or Booth, if they’re not there I think Buffalo should go for a WR. Drake London, Wan’Dale Robinson or Jameson Williams are fine choices and I suppose a strong argument could be made for Linderbaum or Davis as well.

Calling all draft provocateurs, connoisseurs and contrarians alike! • • • Who are this drafts risers, sleepers and sinkers? (When I mean sleepers, I don’t necessarily mean 6th, 7th and UDFAs. I also mean players who will go earlier than their “projected” draft rankings.) DISCLAIMER: If you are brave, pick a player who you think will drop come draft day! _____________________________ I’ve got three players whom I feel will either get drafted higher than expected or will completely outperform all expectations once they reach the NFL. 1.) Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky • Wan’Dale Robinson is an elite slot receiver in the mold of Tyreek Hill with a splash of Cole Beasley and Isaiah McKenzie in him. He is projected to go anywhere from the top of the 3rd round all the way up to the bottom of the second round. I could very well see his stock rise very steeply after the combine. Wan’Dale would give Josh another elite weapon to pair with Diggs & Davis. CBS: #57 PFF: #85 BR: #67 2. Zachary Carter, DT, Florida • At 6’4 285lbs he has a big frame to work with, he’s explosive and quick and could easily pack on another 10-20lbs. He’s projected as a 4th-5th round pick, but I think he has the talent of a high end 2nd round pick. He’s racked up 17 sacks in the last 3 years for Florida along with 25 TFL. Is he the big fat NT we are looking for? No, but he is a talented player to rotate in alongside Oliver on that DL. CBS: #U/R PFF: #158 BR: #128 3. Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee • Standing at 6’0 195lbs, Taylor has prototypical size for the CB position. He’s a mid round prospect, somewhere in the realms of maybe the 4th-5th round but I think Taylor would be a great selection with our 3rd round pick. He’s a talented player physically and would really give our coaching staff a player who has a very solid physical skill set to work with. I could easily see this guy locking down that CB spot opposite of Tre come week 1. He’s boasted of 4 INTs over the last 3 years, including 2 last year. I am a firm believer in going CB RD1, but even so, it would not be a bad idea to select this guy later in the draft even with if we do! CBS: #80 PFF: #U/R BR: #U/R

I mean, if you can’t get production out of two 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick at DE, I don’t know what to tell you. Fans are predicting that we take yet another EDGE. Seems to me like Buffalo has had a hard time developing their front seven talent, outside of Milano and Oliver perhaps. Whose fault is it? McD? Frazier? Washington? How is this “Cesaire” guy getting a new gig?

I don’t know man, to me that looks like a potentially deadly fall. Good luck to his wife, looks like she married a psychopath. I’m holding out hope that this is just some kind of editing mind trick. I guess you can take the QB out of Motor City, but you can’t take the Motor City out of the QB.

There he is folks! Your “2018 Walter Payton Man of the Year” nominee. Please tell me that this is edited? This can’t be real right?

I agree strongly with this. He’s probably in my top 5 as far as this entire list is concerned. I see it as this: 1. Kaiir Elam 2. Andrew Booth 3. Tyler Linderbaum 4. Drake London 5. Jordan Davis I strongly think that CB should be our #1 priority. I saw a gentleman in this thread say that Kaiir Elam isn’t willing to tackle, but I happen to disagree. He has an intimidating blend of size and speed, he’s a great athlete and I think he has an impressive skill set for our staff to work with. His dad and uncle both played in the NFL too, so he has a convincing pedigree and more importantly, quality coaching since his youth as a football player. I am annoyed to admit that we need to draft another corner in the 1st round however. In my heart of hearts I would rather go after a guy like Drake London or Tyler Linderbaum. Jordan Davis is also a convincing prospect, but do we have to burn yet another 1st on a defensive lineman?

Ok, so I’m a big fan of going CB in RD1 but for the sake of being a contrarian I decided to do a draft with the mindset that Buffalo addresses CB in FA. I made a few trades, I went down and up a few spots RDs 2-4. 25. Tyler Linderbaum OC Iowa BUF • Buffalo adds a star IOL with their first pick. Many folks have Linderbaum going in the teens, but he was somehow available at 25. Ultimately he would be a great replacement for Mitch Morse if he decides to retire and although I like Morse and I would keep him in Buffalo for as long as he is willing to stay, Linderbaum gives us depth at center and also he is a fantastic pulling guard while also being strong at the point of attack. 60. Wan'Dale Robinson WR Kentucky trade icon BUF • Wan’Dale Robinson will be a star slot WR at the next level. He is a mix between Cole Beasley and Tyreek Hill. This would greatly round out our WR room and would provide us with something that we don’t really have. 89. Zachary Carter DT Florida BUF • Buffalo adds a starting quality DT. Although he is listed at 6’4 285, I think that he can easily add another 15-20lbs. He is more of a disrupter than he is a run stuffer, but he definitely has the chance to be a very good starter potentially. 97. Channing Tindall LB Georgia trade icon • Buffalo adds an aggressive LB in the mold of London Fletcher. I think he is of great value here and at the very least we can clear some cap room by trading Edmunds or releasing Klein or Matakevich. He definitely has starter potential and gives us some hope for the LB position long term. BUF 168. Jake Camarda P Georgia • Why not take the best punter in the draft? It’s clear that Matt can’t “Haack” it. BUF 184. Marcus Jones CB Houston • Obviously CB is a weak unit for this Bills team, but this draft was done under the impression that Buffalo adds a corner or two in FA. BUF 202. Jaylen Watson CB Washington State • Same as above. Depth signings and STs players at this point. Another Levi Wallace type of player would be awesome.

Meant as OC. -
What type of Offense will Ken Dorsey bring?

Same one as Daboll’s. Him and Allen will be co-equals. -

Contingent upon whether Dorsey does well or not, I would take Reich in a heartbeat when he gets fired next year. -
I want Mike Gesicki. 🙂

Yes.

Why Booth over Elam? Elam to me seems to be along the lines of Jalen Ramsey and Booth seems to be along the lines of TreDavious. Both are special.

I haven’t delved too deeply into RB class this year so much, but boy, does it seem to be underwhelming on the top end. I think I’d rather we sign Sony Michel on the sly.
