I think Tyrod has 2 good years left in him as a serviceable game managing QB. He will never be a pocket passer but he is 28 years old, he can turn broken plays into huge gains with his feet, he doesn't turn the ball over. Once he hits 30-31, I think he will likely be done with because the big 30 is a death knell for NFL players, especially RBs and running QBs. I'd like to squeeze another 2 years out of Tyrod and groom a stud behind him.
When push comes to shove, they'll get their way but same could be said about any owner. Terry gave Rex Ryan a lot of power and then he gave McD even more power. In fact, every coach that Terry has hired has progressively got more and more power and giving McD total control is paying off well I think we can all agree upon.
They're going to do the same thing to Tyrod, you better believe it. Only difference is, Tyrod can call his own number and pick up some yards on the ground.
I think Kyle Williams plays like he's possessed along with the rest of our front 7. I also think our game plan is going to be to shutdown Jacksonville's run game. McDermott and Frazier are going to focus in on this all week. They're going to force Bortles to beat Gaines, White, Hyde and Poyer.
My gut is telling me both teams stop the run. I think Fournette and McCoy both get shutdown, it turns into a chess match between Bortles and Tyrod. Just my gut feeling.
Mason Rudolph in the 2nd round, move up to 33-34 and take him there or potentially trade one of our 1sts for an early 2nd and multiple draft picks. He is projected as a 2nd-3rd round pick, probably won't go in the 1st but it's possible he moves up after the Senior Bowl and Combine.
Sure it does, team chemistry is important. Tyrod may not be an ideal starter but he is easily the top backups QB on the market, 12 is what he'll get minimum. Once again, include incentives so he can earn more, if he doesn't reach those incentives we don't pay him.
A bird in the hand is better than a bird in the bush. Taylor loves Buffalo and the players love him. I think he would love a heavily incentive based deal. Nobody would care if we paid him 18 if he was our starter and we make the playoffs again.
That's why you give him a deal worth UP to 18 million but in reality only 8 of it is guaranteed. If we make the playoffs again, if he starts 75% of our games, if he passes a certain amount of TDs, etc. I'd essentially give Tyrod a prove it deal.
He is a top 3 lock, buy low, sell high. Going back to school could lose him a lot of money and OTOH I don't think he is ready for the NFL, he needs to sit for a year but he has a higher ceiling than Rosen.
Yeah, okay. How many yards on the ground did our defense give up? We couldn't stop a nose bleed and don't forget, Tyrod did not have Woods, Watkins, Glenn, Gilislee, Benjamin and Matthews missed a bunch of time, Tyrod had nothing.
I'd take Rudolph in the first but his stock is all over the place, I've seen anywhere from the 1st all the way to the 4th. I mean, I love the guy but if he can be had in the 2nd, even better.
