Who is your favorite free agent signing so far?
ghostwriter replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They may be good players, but not difference makers. Definitely think they'll improve the team, but in order to get they elite guys, you have to draft those kind of players. There are exceptions of course, but most of the time in free agency you greatly overpay for what you get. -

I'm pretty underwhelmed by everything, but that's free agency for you in a nutshell. The really good players almost never make it to free agency in their prime, sure it happens, but it's definitely not the standard. -
Bills GM: Not certain we move up to take QB

Very few teams have the fire power we have. -
Who else really wants a first round MLB?
ghostwriter replied to Bing Bong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Rashaan Evans more than I like any other LB in the draft, he has Patrick Willis potential. He is projected as a mid to late 1st round pick, I like him at 22. Josey Jewell is another guy I like, he is projected as a 3rd to 4th round pick, he would be awesome with that 65th pick we got from the Browns. I think it's very possible we walk away with Josh Allen or Baker Mayfield at 12 AND Rashaan Evans or Roquan Smith. -
Beats the hell out of some of these 100 million dollar contracts these other DTs are getting. I think he is going to be a good player for us. Hopefully the incentive laden deal lights a fire under his ass and to be honest, the salary cap is going to continue to rise, he won't really be getting paid that much in comparison to some of the upper echelon elite guys in a few years. It's a fair contract, if he doesn't quite live up to it, we can always restructure the deal slightly.

Allen has high bust potential, but he has so much God given talent at the same time. He would have all the time in the world behind McCarron, I like that pick, but passing on Rashaan Evans at 22 would be big mistake, he would be our Luke Kuechly.

Bills looking to add a free agent CB
ghostwriter replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course we're looking for a corner, name me one team that isn't, could never have enough corners. -
He was gushing over playing with Kyle Williams, I think playing with Kyle is going to elevate his game. I expect big things out of Star, I'm glad we got him.

Tyrod named starting QB of Browns
ghostwriter replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wish Taylor and the Browns nothing but the best, really pulling for them to have a great draft and season. -
I like McCarron's upside, but at the end of the day I don't think he is the answer. I don't think Beane and McD feel that way either. You don't ignore every big name free agent QB on the market and sign the last guy that's left if you are serious about finding a long term starter and you sure as heck don't pay 5 million a year to be a 'starter'. It's pretty obvious we are going to draft a QB high and it's very likely that the rookie will start sometime during the 2018 season. Best case scenario is that McCarron is a gem and we have two good QBs on the roster.

Your reaction to Free Agency and Draft in GIFs

I wouldn't rule out Rashaan Evans, I actually like more than Roquan Smith and Tremaine Edmunds. Josey Jewell from Iowa would be a big upgrade in the 3rd to 4th round also, he is my sleeper pick, he gets no respect, way better than draftniks give him credit for.

Here is what is going to happen in the draft
ghostwriter replied to maryland-bills-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will come down to the way the board falls IMO. I think Allen at #1 to Cleveland is best case scenario. Hopefully the Giants take Barkley and at that point it's a virtual lock that Rosen or Darnold is there at #4. Could probably package #12, #53 and a 2019 2nd for #4 and maybe a midround pick or a 3rd next year. We could select Rosen and still have #22, #56, #65, #96, #121, # #166, #187. -
Here is what is going to happen in the draft
ghostwriter replied to maryland-bills-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a deal is already in place for #3. You don't wait until the last minute to sign AJ McCarron in free agency if you do not have a plan for the draft. Moving up to #12 kind of cements my pov. I really like Mason Rudolph, but as much as I like him, I'd be shocked if we don't have our sights set on Darnold or Rosen. I may even see Cleveland taking Allen at #1 and Buffalo trades up for #4 with Cleveland for Rosen or Darnold. -
Wait a second...What About Shaq Lawson????
ghostwriter replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jerry Hughes is 30 in 5 months, let that sink in. NFL stands for Not For Long. Mario Williams hit a brick wall at 30-31. I think by the end of the year it will be Murphy and Lawson starting opposite to each other, at least that's what I think McD wants and hopes will happen. I don't believe for a second we're moving on from Shaq. -
I think he'll be marginally better than Chris Kelsay was. He is 6'6, he was slow before the ACL and I wonder if he can get back to 100%. I think if he were coming out in this year's draft he'd be a 2nd round pick. Jerry Hughes is also not getting any younger, by the end of the year it could be Murphy and Lawson starting together.

McCarron vs. Rosen...who starts?
ghostwriter replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm thinking it's Rudolph at 21. Roquan Smith at 12. QB of offense, QB of defense. -
McCarron vs. Rosen...who starts?
ghostwriter replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We only have so many picks, we need a couple CBs, LBs, RT, C, WR. If we trade everything for Rosen, he is going to get killed. I'm skeptical to say the least. -
McCarron vs. Rosen...who starts?
ghostwriter replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know, I am not so sure we trade up that far. Not just because of McCarron (who I love), but we haven't really been over aggressive in free agency, which is what I'd expect from a team that is going to give up half of their draft picks. -
I was just thinking that. Tyrod could mask OL deficiencies more than McCarron can. Good news is, McCarron will probably take the brunt of the abuse, not the rookie. I suspect McCarron was brought in to buy time and give us security going into the draft, may also be a great trade piece in the future, but for some reason, a small part of me is really excited about this signing, I almost feel like McCarron may be a diamond in the rough. I have hope he can be the guy, which is unusual for me, usually I am on the cautious side of things.
-
Is he better than Tyrod though? That's the question.
-
Even if he gets 10 million, who cares? Teddy Bridgewater can make up to 15 million. How can you not like this deal?

Sal says UFA QB's was not the Bills plan

I think Foles is very much in play or I'm waiting to see a blockbuster trade for #2 overall. -
Someone Start New Buffalo Bills Message Board
ghostwriter replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the reputation requirement is a good idea. I'm a newbie here, but truth is some of these threads are made by children. I post on other forms, mainly music forums and there are nowhere near as many stupid people as there are here. It takes skill to play an instrument, the stupid people get weeded out, thus on music message boards you generally deal with smarter people because there's a litmus test. But here? Any retard with the age or IQ of a shoe size can start threads.
