  1. That's a possibility, but I wonder if we are projecting our needs onto other teams. We are talking about 4 QBs in the top 10, has that ever happened before?
  2. It's ironic because Allen has more God given ability than any QB in the draft. I'd kill to have him on the Bills.
  3. Question for you guys, if Mayfield did indeed drop to #6, why would we need to trade up that high for him? The only threat to take Mayfield at that point is Miami. #6 Indy - Luck #7 Tampa Bay - Winston #8 Chicago - Trubisky #9 San Fran - Jimmy G #10 Oakland - Carr #11 Miami - Tannehill, but may take one, maybe not. So if one of the top 4 got past the top 5 picks, there is virtually no threat until #11. If we could just jump up 2-3 spots, we would have a really good chance at one of the top 4.
  4. IMO, Allen, Rosen and Darnold all go top 5. I think Mayfield drops down past the Colts to the 7-10 range and Buffalo jumps Miami for him. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
  5. I'd absolutely trade up for Allen, but only at the right price. Definitely wouldn't trade all the way to 2 for him, but if one of the top 4 fell past 6, who would really be a threat to take a QB at that point? Miami? I'd see if Tampa Bay would take Jerry Hughes and #12 for #7. Hopefully Allen or Mayfield is still available.
  6. I'm not a Bama fan per se, but I do admire some of the prospects they've put out over the years. Forget where mocks have these guys rated, forget what the talking heads think. Every year there are guys that were rated as late 1st round picks that in hindsight we look back and ask ourselves, why wasn't this guy drafted earlier? Does it really matter if you take a guy 10-15 picks earlier than he was projected? I think Rashaan Evans is going to be a top 3 LB in the NFL. He is more explosive and violent than Smith and Edmunds. This guy would make a weak area on our team a strength. Evans is going to be an elite LB at the next level. As far as Rudolph goes, do you really want to take that chance as far as waiting until the 2nd goes? He is a really solid prospect, I could see him going at the very top of the 2nd round, why not just draft him 10 spots higher than where he'll go? He has the potential to be a very solid starter, who cares where mock drafts have him going? QBs always get overdrafted, once again.
  7. Rashaan Evans is the best LB in the draft, I don't care where mock drafts have him rated. Mason Rudolph may be a 2nd round prospect as well, but look how much the Jets gave up for #3. That pick is worth 2,200 and the Jets gave up 2,900. They overdrafted the living hell out of whichever QB they draft, so who cares if we draft an early 2nd round prospect at 22? QBs always get overdrafted.
  8. Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger immediately come to mind as far as great QBs that were guided along by strong rosters during the developmental phases of their careers early on. Nick Foles and Case Keenum benefitted from strong rosters around them last year and did awesome as well.
  9. Maybe you should form your own opinions rather than reading what Walter football says.
  10. They have no supporting cast though, a rookie going to the Jets is entering a very volatile situation. Football is a team sport, we would be better off with Mason Rudolph at 21 and still having 5 other picks to spend in RDS 1-3.
  11. Give me Rashaan Evans at 12 and Mason Rudolph at 22. Sit Rudolph down behind McCarron for the next 2 years.
  12. I think Josh Allen goes 1, I think he is the best prospect in the draft. There are huge concerns surrounding him, but his ceiling is Ben Roethlisberger mixed with Johnny Unitas. No other QB in the draft has as much potential as Allen, if he is handled right, he has a better future than any other prospect in the draft..
  13. I don't think there is any chance the Browns take Barkley at 1, not anymore anyways. The Giants may very well take a QB and the Jets are going to do the same, so two QBs can be off the board by the time the Browns pick again at 4. Will they really settle for the 3rd best prospect? That would be disasterous IMO.
  14. Man, the Jets gave up a lot for that pick. I hope we have a shot at Josh Allen at this point, maybe we wait and see if one of the top 3-4 fall to 12 or maybe we have plans for Rudolph or Jackson at 22.
  15. That's why he is a darkhorse, imo. I think there is a chance Baker Mayfield slides as well. It's also a darkhorse choice for us not to trade up.
  16. Let's hypothetically say that we don't go QB at 12 (highly unlikely), but let's pretend. Rashaan Evans is my favorite non-QB prospect in the entire draft. Forget Haloti Ngata, I want Ray Lewis. Guy is intense, incredibly explosive, he will be the best LB in the draft and he would fill a huge void on defense.
  17. Rashaan Evans is extremely violent though, he is like a heat seeking missle out there. I do like Smith, but Evans has this element of angriness and explosion that I just love about his game. Very intimidating.
  18. That's way too much compensation for #4. I could see #12, #53 and a 2019 2nd for #4 and a 2019 3rd, but not what you suggested, too much.
  19. I like Vander Esch. No problems with him if Evans is gone. My favorite 3 LBs are: 1.) Rashaan Evans 2.) Leighton Vander Esch 2.) Josey Jewell There are higher rated prospects, I just like those three guys the most.
  20. AJ McCarron 10/10: I don't think he will be an all-star, but the price to risk to reward ratio is very appealing. He signed for next to nothing, he has upside as a starter, he also makes us less desperate going into the draft. This is my favorite move of the off-season, once again there is no way at all this is a bad signing, no risk in this at all. Tyrod trade 8/10: A 3rd for him was genius on Beane's part, but it was a risky move. Had McCarron signed elsewhere, we would only have Nathan Peterman on our roster and that would make us very vulnerable going into the draft, but I'm glad it worked out. Star Lotulelei 7/10: Fills a tremendous need for us and he is getting paid half of what Marcell Dareus was. Good signing, paid great money to a good player, but that's how free agency works, isn't it?
  21. How many Super Bowls did Marcus Stroud and John Henderson win? Got to go for a QB at 12.
  22. Feel free to add your own surprises! Let's try to mention players that are completely off of the radar only. #12.) Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming - Falls down the board all the way to 12 because of concerns about his accuracy and production. #22.) Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama - Roquan Smith and Tremaine Edmunds seem to get all the attention, but what about Evans? He has sideline to sideline speed and plays with violence. #53.) Billy Price, OC, Ohio State - He had a stellar career at OSU, but he tore his pec at the combine, he would have been a 1st round pick but slides to us due to injury. #56.) Connor Williams, OT, Texas - Pair him up with Dion Dawkins and our tackle situation is taken care of for the next 5 years. #65.) James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State - Buffalo adds their deep threat. Washington, a 2nd round prospect falls to us in the 3rd. #96.) Josey Jewell, LB, Iowa - A 3rd to 4th round prospect, Jewell becomes a starter day 1 and becomes one of the best linebackers in the draft.
  23. He is a good player for sure, not positive where he'll go, but he has really good speed for a big guy, he's an acrobat.
