What do you guys think? New England drafted a 1st round RB with bone on bone his knees, felt like they blew that pick, he would of been there in the 3rd. The Jets scored Darnold very high but jeez they sure didn't do anything to help him, he is going to get killed behind that line and he will have no targets to throw to. The Jets drafted a guy that had all the help in the world at USC and now he is playing at the pro level with less help than he had in college! (As much as people want to criticize our roster, Josh Allen played with absolutely no help at Wyoming whereas now he has Shady, Benjamin, Clay and a budding player in O'Leary, it should be interesting to see how this plays out.) The Dolphins I felt had a solid draft, Fitzpatrick a Gesicki were solid high end picks, I'd give them a solid B+ for their draft grade.

Is Beane making the same mistake Whaley made?
ghostwriter replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, we still got Shady, Benjamin and Clay, those are some nice targets. Maybe Zay can turn his career around? OL isn't as bad as many think, definitely our weakness but Dawkins is a stud at LT and Bodine has a ton of experience at center. Groy and Miller can develop into serviceable starters, at least for a year. I don't think Allen is going to start much of the year, at most I could see him in there for 5-7 games, it's basically going to be a redshirt year for him, as it should be IMO. McCarron on the other hand is going into an awful situation. -
RD 6, 187 Ray-Ray McCloud - WR Clemson

He will be a good return guy, he has value on special teams, doubt he will ever be an impact player at WR. -
RD 5, Pick 154: Siran Neal S - Jacksonville state
ghostwriter replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see him playing LB in nickel formations right away. I think Neal has starter potential down the road, not right away but eventually. I think Sua Cravens type of player, maybe not as big or athletic but he has hybrid S/LB potential IMO. -
RD 5, Pick 166: Wyatt Teller G - Viginia Tech

That was my max too. When I was 25 and I weighed 215 I could do 225 for 12 reps, 315 max. -

If he put on 14-15lbs though he could start alongside Milano and Edmunds. Maybe they keep him at safety, I don't know but he is such a punishing tackler that I could see him making the switch to linebacker. -
Day 3 of draft rounds 4-7 let’s talk
ghostwriter replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My favorite day 3 pick was Siran Neal, I think he has really solid starter potential and should be a really fun project for our coaching staff to work with, Leslier Frazier is going to love this guy. I think we walked away with 4 starters from this year's draft, damn good haul. -

I really really like this guy, he can hit hard. No more marshmallows on defense. Is he a LB or a safety? Can we have him add 15lbs and plug him in at LB? -
RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

Even when I meet a fellow Bills fan that I've never met before I feel a kinship to them. -

WR (St. Brown?) OL (Quessenberry?) LB (Jewell?) Any of these guys at 121. -
RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

Hopefully our black players are cool with it, I'm pretty sure Josh realizes that without our black players we would be 0-16. -
And now the plan is a lot clearer...

You have to compare potential too. It's not black and white. Why do you compare Allen to Manuel? They're nothing alike. Allen has a bigger arm, better release, more mobile etc. His floor is not Manuel, please don't use that comparison again. Allen has a Cam Newton/Big Ben ceiling which is much better than Minkah Fitzpatrick or Roquan Smith. If it clicks for Allen we win Super Bowls, Fitz/Smith can be a ten time pro bowler and it wouldn't scratch the surface as far as Allen's potential. All of a sudden if Allen develops, free agent WRs are going to line up to play here, superstars will want to be here, Allen will affect possibilities on the free agent market, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Roquan Smith will never have that pull. -
RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

Btw, those tweets from when he was a teen, does anybody think he was serious? It came off to me that he was being a little smartass and didn't mean it in a vicious way. Typical 14-15 year old talk. -

Could be. To me the Allen and Phillips pick I knew right away, it was at least obvious to me. -

Hugely disagree. Most mocks I read leading up to the draft had Allen #1 to the Browns. I'll take Allen over Roquan and Minkah every time. -

I think Buffalo did a hit job on Allen, I think they leaked Allen's racially insensitive tweets the day before the draft because they wanted him bad, he would have not fallen to 7 otherwise. The Edmunds and Phillips selections were just way too obvious though, I think just about anybody could have made those selections. I don't think you can plan for a top 7 LB to fall down to 16 or a mid 2nd round DT to fall to us all the way at the bottom of the 3rd, you don't plan that. We just got extremely lucky and we have a GM that is very smart and capitalizes on opportunities. Still, we got BPA at need areas with our first three picks, that is not from planning, that's luck. -
The Giants look awfully dumb. When again if ever will they be sitting at #2 in a QB rich draft? It may take 30 years for them to get another opportunity like this. Sorry, but the only time you take a RB that high is if there are no good QBs. If Geno Smith and EJ Manuel are your options you take the RB 10/10. The Giants and Browns botched the top of the draft so bad that we got Allen and Edmunds, talk about bizarre!

Josey Jewell and Equanimeous St. Brown for me.

They compare him to Urlacher. -
All the trolling and disrespect to Allen make me want to root for him that much more.

I understand but when you start a new job don't you expect your employer to have a senior employee train the new hire? Especially a job like QB, which in my mind is one of the most demanding jobs on the planet, very few jobs on this Earth are harder. Give the kid some time, let him learn from a consummate professional like McCarron and let him get confident and in a good routine.
-
Allen will start this year for absolute damn sure but I would like the euphoria to wear off for Allen. I don't question his brain, heart or body but New Era stadium is freaking nuts I want him to tame his emotions before he is expected to take over. Forget next year, we want Allen to come in and start for the next 20 years, screw short term I don't care about 2018.

So many OL being drafted - what should we do?
ghostwriter replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bodine, Groy, Miller and Duccasse is not great by any means, but they are serviceable and I don't think OL is as dire as many believe, I mean sure we could use some help but I wouldn't mortgage the farm for one.
