EXACTLY why I think Beane blew the '18 draft. -Rd. 1
ghostwriter replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's fair but I like the fact that we drafted two of the biggest boom or bust prospects in the draft. Allen and Edmunds have a higher ceiling than anyone else at their respective positions. Sure, they could bust but we could also end up with the next Big Ben and Brian Urlacher. -

You want a DT over a QB??? Really? We signed Lotulelei and we drafted a steal in Harrison Phillips. What QB could we of had at #96? You would rather take an OT or a WR over a generational talent at LB? What QB will Wynn protect? Who will get Moore the ball?? Edmunds is the best LB in the draft and has the potential to be the best LB in the entire NFL. -
I look at the fact that Edmunds is only 20 as a tremendous advantage. Boy, I remember all the testosterone running through my body that age. Lots of more wiggle, less wear and tear on them bones. Edmunds is a generational LB prospect, we are talking about a guy that may be discussed as perhaps a better talent than Luke Kuechly. Milano is a stud, they apparently like Tanner Vallejo but I think the guy we're going to see surprise a lot of people is Siran Neal. Apparently they are going to try him out mainly as safety but don't get it twisted he will be playing LB as well. Lorax is old and slow but can still be effective if used right, I think we're OK.

What are your most valued traits in a QB???

Ability to extend plays, I think that's a lot of fun to watch, it's what I liked most about Tyrod. Nobody does it better than Big Ben. -
RD 4, Pick 121: Taron Johnson DB - Weber State
ghostwriter replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He can tackle too. Now we got Tre, Taron, Vontae, Siran, Micah and Jordan roaming around in our secondary and all of them know how to hit, very scary if you're a receiver or a running back. -
I hope to God they have Neal gain a few lbs and play LB. Milano, Edmunds and Neal would be ridiculous.

I'd rather have him over McCloud and Proehl.

Preliminary draft grades on the AFC East

He has All Pro talent though, no other LB available at 22 has anywhere near the ceiling, we didn't really miss out on much. Edmunds was projected at #7 in most mocks I read. #7=1,500 #22 + #65 = 1,045 Matter of fact what we got was a highway robbery. -

Same hypothetical applies to your prospect. -

Edmunds is a Brian Urlacher clone, we're talking about an All-Pro caliber prospect. This guy doesn't just have the potential to be a top 5 MLB in the league, he has the potential to be the very best LB in the league. Screw 65, I'll take the All-Pro. -

Don't put words in my mouth, I meant All-Pro. I think Allen is the best QB in the draft and Edmunds has a Brian Urlacher ceiling. This is the best draft I've seen for the Bills in my 31 years as a fan. -

I felt like the Bills could have had a very average draft if Harrison Phillips wasn't there at #96. Was anybody really expecting that? I think Allen and Edmunds will be All-Pros but if you only walk away with 2 starters from your draft with so many picks, that's terrible but I would bet both my testicles we walk away with 3 high end starters minimum, could even be 4 with Siran Neal, that was a nice midround pick for us. -
What do you guys think? New England drafted a 1st round RB with bone on bone his knees, felt like they blew that pick, he would of been there in the 3rd. The Jets scored Darnold very high but jeez they sure didn't do anything to help him, he is going to get killed behind that line and he will have no targets to throw to. The Jets drafted a guy that had all the help in the world at USC and now he is playing at the pro level with less help than he had in college! (As much as people want to criticize our roster, Josh Allen played with absolutely no help at Wyoming whereas now he has Shady, Benjamin, Clay and a budding player in O'Leary, it should be interesting to see how this plays out.) The Dolphins I felt had a solid draft, Fitzpatrick a Gesicki were solid high end picks, I'd give them a solid B+ for their draft grade.

Is Beane making the same mistake Whaley made?
ghostwriter replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, we still got Shady, Benjamin and Clay, those are some nice targets. Maybe Zay can turn his career around? OL isn't as bad as many think, definitely our weakness but Dawkins is a stud at LT and Bodine has a ton of experience at center. Groy and Miller can develop into serviceable starters, at least for a year. I don't think Allen is going to start much of the year, at most I could see him in there for 5-7 games, it's basically going to be a redshirt year for him, as it should be IMO. McCarron on the other hand is going into an awful situation. -
RD 6, 187 Ray-Ray McCloud - WR Clemson
ghostwriter replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He will be a good return guy, he has value on special teams, doubt he will ever be an impact player at WR. -
RD 5, Pick 154: Siran Neal S - Jacksonville state
ghostwriter replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see him playing LB in nickel formations right away. I think Neal has starter potential down the road, not right away but eventually. I think Sua Cravens type of player, maybe not as big or athletic but he has hybrid S/LB potential IMO. -
RD 5, Pick 166: Wyatt Teller G - Viginia Tech
ghostwriter replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was my max too. When I was 25 and I weighed 215 I could do 225 for 12 reps, 315 max. -
RD 5, Pick 154: Siran Neal S - Jacksonville state
ghostwriter replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he put on 14-15lbs though he could start alongside Milano and Edmunds. Maybe they keep him at safety, I don't know but he is such a punishing tackler that I could see him making the switch to linebacker. -
Day 3 of draft rounds 4-7 let’s talk
ghostwriter replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My favorite day 3 pick was Siran Neal, I think he has really solid starter potential and should be a really fun project for our coaching staff to work with, Leslier Frazier is going to love this guy. I think we walked away with 4 starters from this year's draft, damn good haul. -
RD 5, Pick 154: Siran Neal S - Jacksonville state
ghostwriter replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really really like this guy, he can hit hard. No more marshmallows on defense. Is he a LB or a safety? Can we have him add 15lbs and plug him in at LB? -
RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

WR (St. Brown?) OL (Quessenberry?) LB (Jewell?) Any of these guys at 121. -

Hopefully our black players are cool with it, I'm pretty sure Josh realizes that without our black players we would be 0-16.
