  1. Did you expect us to beat the Vikings or Titans though? I didn't. And we aren't even playing our best football yet.
  2. We are 2-3, we are not out of it yet. Without McCoy we're under 5 wins, with McCoy there is a chance the ship gets righted and we make a push.
  3. Eagles need to go away. He's ours, shouldn't have let him go, it's over, move on.
  4. He can be if used properly. Will he a 3 down back again? Probably not, but he can still be a difference maker. Have Murphy and Ivory get the crap kicked out of them on 1st and 2nd down, but when it's 3rd down and we really need to get that 1st down, McCoy goes into the backfield. McCoy also goes in within the 20 yard line and clutch situations. Do that and he'll probably average over 4.5ypc and be a 1st down machine, redzone threat, clutch player and veteran leader. He has value.
  5. Our 3rd will be an early 3rd, their better 2nd will probably be a later 2nd. I don't think that's a good deal for us. I'd give them Shady for a 2nd and I think Shady himself could understand that. Once again, we're talking about a RB that would be a 1st down machine if used as our 3rd down back. Draft a RB high to take the beating on 1st and 2nd down, Shady comes in on 3rd down and clutch situations. He would make more money here than he would anywhere else. I think Sproles got 6.5 million/yr, I'd give Shady slightly more than that. Would probably keep him playing at a high level for another 2-3 years easy.
  6. I'd draft a RB extremely high and restructure Shady's contract so he is the highest paid 3rd down back in the NFL. Could you imagine that? He lost a step but he has enough left that I think he can be a dominant 3rd down guy, he'd thrive in that role. Alas, his career is reborn again as a Darren Sproles/Kevin Faulk back. It would add a lonnnnnnng time to his career and he wouldn't have to take a huge paycut.
  7. If what you say is true, why trade him at all? We have a TON of cap space next year, Shady likes it here, he's a good guy, fans love him and we can put him in a rotation and get another 3 years out of him. Restructure his contract and use him as a 3rd down back like Darren Sproles. He has value to us, don't take a 3rd, 4th or 5th for him, we want him here.
  8. Oh, yes, the Panthers weren't even sure about him, when I heard they were shopping the #1 pick, I wanted Buffalo to go up from #3. Anyways yeah. People highly questioned whether or not he'd be a complete QB. Our definition of project QB is completely different by the way. Your definition fits under my spectrum but my definition is simply a QB that is insanely talented with major holes in his game. A project QB can and has started right away before in the past.
  9. That just means you, like the Panthers were right. I wanted Cam Newton desperately, but many many many Bills fans didn't even want him at 3, there were rumors that the Panthers were open to trading out of 1, ultimately they didn't get an offer they liked. Cam Newton was highly controversial coming out, whether you or I liked him doesn't matter, he was thought to be a runner that may never be a polished passer.
  10. Fair enough. I think Shady is an asset at the same time though and wouldn't give him up for nothing, he needs to be in a RB committee though, I think it can extend his career, he's not the same back anymore but still very useful.
  11. Cam Newton was a project too IIRC, people questioned if he could be a pocket QB or if he was just a gimmicky running QB. Many Bills fans didn't even want him at 3.
  12. People were calling Mahomes and Trubisky projects, those are the two most recent examples in recent memory. Now whether any of you thought the contrary, may boost your credit but it doesn't matter, I remember arguing with someone profusely over Mahomes "Texas Tech doesn't produce NFL quarterbacks" "Texas Tech never has QBs drafted in the first round!" "Texas Tech runs a gimmick offense with system QBs!" Oh, yes!!!!! The haters were very real, I remember it clearly. Some of the arguments made against Mahomes are being used against Allen.
  13. You're my kind of guy, I never give my opinion up on another man's personal life unless he asks me for it. Poyer is a great football player, this other stuff is none of my business though.
  14. That's a fair statement and I'm an Allen supporter, but that's absolutely a correct observation, he needs to do more.
  15. Lesson? What lesson? If you pick #64, what kind of prospects will be available? 2nd round prospects or 3rd round prospects? Yes, a bunch of 3rd round prospects will be on the board. I thought you were supposed to be smart? Why are you making me spell it out to you? Can't you read between the lines?
  16. It would be a 3rd in title only, there would be mostly 4th round prospects available there, not worth it.
  17. Liked Anderson early on his career, much like Nick Foles I thought he'd be a starting QB but it never materialized for him. Good guy to have around, would like to see Peterman cut and just roll with Allen and Anderson.
  18. Without hesitation. We can, if we're smart get a Robert Woods type receiver with a 2nd. Probably even pick up a stud center there too. Shady will likely be in a RB committee here very shortly, he still has some juice though but I'd move on for a 2nd.
