  1. I may sign up just to read Wood's columns every week. From the cliff notes and excerpts I've read, he is right on the money on everything. His opinion makes a lot of sense to me. Apparently Wood has the brains to match with the brawn. Not surprising at all.
  2. Allen completed 65% of his throws to cap the season off against Miami. Only difference between that game and the rest of the season is Allen decisively checked the ball off consistently instead of trying to hit a homerun every play. I think if you add a true pass catching RB and an OL on top of that Allen's completion % would jump above 60% easily.
  3. I'm not buying that there are no #1 WRs in this draft class. There is a girth of 1st to 2nd round prospects to choose from, somebody will step up. There are just too many good prospects for that not to happen.
  4. Good thing we got Allen, if Haskins is the top guy then I'd hate to see the rest of this class.
  5. I am watching more football now than ever before. The bad teams are becoming good and the good teams are becoming bad. Excited to see teams like the Bills and Browns show so much promise. I hope the Steelers and Patriots end up as bottom feeders for the next 20 years. I am so tired of them to the point of not even wanting to watch their games anymore, I mean we all know who is going to win, it's bad for the game.
  6. Wonder how much? I do think he is a valuable commodity as a rotational piece.
  7. Everybody wanted Rosen because they looked at his stat sheet and compared it to Allen's and automatically assumed he was the better QB. The problem with doing that is the talent between the two schools is disproportionate to each others. I think even a marginal QB would have put up big numbers at UCLA. Allen had nothing to work with at Wyoming yet he still made big big plays. I had no idea he was so athletic though, that I was unaware of. I knew he'd be good but he exceeded my expectations going into the season and I think he can be better than Baker Mayfield in the long run and I think his accuracy will continue to climb. In my heart of hearts I think we got the last good QB in the draft. I think Arizona and Baltimore missed the bus.
  8. Keep an eye on Marquise Brown, he is listed as an early 2nd but I think may catapult himself into the top 10 and distinguish himself from the others.
  9. I thought Robiskie was a good coach, a very good coach actually. With that said, if Daboll can snag some coaches off of NEs staff, perfecto! I'd give Daboll free reign to do whatever he likes. He knows more about football than me.
  10. STs is actually very important. Having a kicker that can crush FGs consistently can be the difference between winning or losing a game. I knew Crossman was a bad coach after witnessing how many punters he went through. He literally went through punters like they were toilet paper and that's not normal.
  11. That's a very interesting perspective, suppose I should be more open to Shady returning on a restructured contract after reading your post. Good thoughts.
  12. I'd much rather have Yeldon. LF cant catch. Allen needs a dual threat at RB. LF would of been a HOFer in the 70s or 80s but not in today's NFL. If he came at the veteran minimum...... maybe..
  13. I think there will be 3 franchise QBs: Darnold, Allen and Mayfield. If Beane lost out on Allen I think his career as a GM would come to an end. I think he got the last good one in the draft. I think Rosen will be a career journeyman and I think Jackson will find short term success but will fail long term.
  14. I would like him back. I think he is starting to find himself as a player. Could see Shaq turning into an 8-10 sack per year kind of guy. I like him a lot more than Murphy.
  15. It's not luck. I knew Mayfield, Allen and Darnold to a lesser extent would be good QBs. That's not what impressed me. What impressed me was how ballsy Beane was to get his guy. I like that. Levi Wallace is also proof that Beane is an extremely competent GM. He nailed picks throughout the draft and also signed Jordan Phillips off of waivers. If Beane was fired tomorrow, a dozen teams would be in hot pursuit. He will never be out of a job. I'd fire McD loooooooooong before I'd fire Beane.
  16. There is no conspiracy theory, if you are viewed as a coach that can win a SB, you will be hired. Color, race and gender do not factor into it. Joseph, Wilkes and Bowles were fired because they sucked. They were given an opportunity and they did not take advantage of it.
  17. I'm going to be pretty depressed if we keep McCoy. Hopefully he is just posturing, but then again, who would take that contract on? If someone offered a 7th in 2021 I'd take it.
  18. I hate it when fans cant see the bigger picture. Shady rushed for 1,100 behind a Castillo coached line. You take away 3 Pro Bowlers from him, what do you want him to do dude? Look at his resume. He's a good coach. Nope. That was Mouse McNally.
  19. That's not fair though. He did great when Cog, Wood, Glenn and Dawkins were starting together and I think Wyatt Teller showed growth under Castillo. Guy had Russell Bodine, Ryan Groy and a bunch of scrubs to work with. Castillo is a fantastic coach.
  20. Firing Castillo would be a mistake, he had absolutely nothing to work with. His OL was fine when he had talent to work with. Crossman is the one that needs to go bye bye.
  21. I want him at LG, not RT. Problem is, where in the world can we find a decent LT? May just have to leave him there.
  22. I have a feeling Marquise Brown is going to shoot up draft boards and I'm ok with him at 9. It may seem crazy now but wait until the combine, this kid is going to ascend. He can be a DeSean Jackson type of wideout for Allen.
