Will we pay Poyer or won't we?
ghostwriter replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Poyer is a leader in our secondary, I bet he gets re-signed. So long as he isn’t asking for too much, I see us paying him. I think he wants to be in Buffalo so he’ll take a moderate pay bump and get his money. This coaching staff, this defense is perfect for his skill set and I think he knows that, he fits this scheme like a glove. Maybe $8M-$9M is what I’d value him at. -
Eno Benjamin or Najee Harris wouldn’t be bad options there as well.

I like Travis Etienne, Najee Harris, Eno Benjamin and Ke’Shawn Vaughn from that list. -
Devin Singletary Highlight Reel

I think that’s the characteristic of a good RB. Making guys miss in a phone booth. Straight line speed matters but quickness is more important when judging a RB. -
Tremaine Edmunds will be playing in the Pro Bowl

Grats, Tre. Let’s get first team next year, bud. -
Be sure to get back to me on Guidry, I’d love to hear your thoughts. He’s a 3rd round / 4th round prospect.

Wirfs is a good player but according to your board I’d rather have Justin Jefferson. If Justin Jefferson was gone I would not mind Wirfs. I totally understand your logic and I would not be one iota upset. Wirfs is a good player and I’d love to have him, move Ford into LG and all a sudden that O-line is looking damn good. He’s a good option. The folks that say he is not just aren’t aware yet.

First four picks are ???. I don’t think Shenault will be there though. I think he goes just outside the top 10. How do you feel about Justin Jefferson, Henry Ruggs and Stephen Guidry though?
-
By meat and potatoes I mean our OL and core players. By upgrading RT we can move Ford to LG and our line is above average. Two birds, one stone. Dawkins, Feliciano, Morse, Ford, Knox, Brown, Beasley and Allen Is a great base for a stew but I think RB and WR will look a lot different after April. Could use another RB and a few WRs but the nucleus is still there.
-
Need to rework the OL too, I might add. Ford into LG and a true RT gives us an above average OL. I think Allen, Singletary and Knox will see a jump in production too. Typically year 3 for QBs is a good indicator in what you can expect going forward. Allen did good spreading the ball around, if he can connect on the deep ball more often, look out.
-
Glad to have him back. I expect our offense to explode under Daboll year 3. Barring a catastrophic injury to Josh Allen I think we go deep in the playoffs next year. I find it awesome that Allen has the same teacher 3 years in a row. We have talent on the offensive side of the ball but we’re still really rough around the edges. OL needs to be tweaked, need to drastically rehaul the skill positions, but the meat and potatoes is there.

What position does Beane prioritize in FA?

Splashy players don’t necessarily mean more production. -

I like Josh Uche and Willie Gay if we turn to the draft for LB. -

My Off-Season Primer: Position Group - DE
ghostwriter replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d like to see us cut Murphy and do something like: Re-sign Shaq Lawson 3yrs $24M Sign Jordan Jenkins 4yrs $40M Draft Kenny Willekes, DE, Michigan State Think if you do that we’ll have a solid pass rush. You let Hughes walk after this year and hope Willekes is ready to start in 2021. -
Who’s the one FA you want in 2020?
ghostwriter replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d get him to drop 10lbs. Can plug him in at LE on passing downs. On running downs all of a sudden we have an enforcer at LB. I think he upgrades two positions on defense for us. Good for 8-10 sacks a year, probably cost half as much as Clowney. -

Jordan Jenkins, DE/OLB, NYJ Perfect replacement for LoZo. Has a quick first step, can play linebacker, can line up at DE. Will command $10M/yr but not as much as say Clowney, Dupree or Yannick. -
I felt like we weren’t getting a whole lotta pressure with our front 4. My biggest problem with our defense is our DEs. Hughes was injured so he gets a pass, Shaq looked good at times but needs to be more consistent, outside of those two guys we had nothing.

My Off-Season Primer: Position Group: WR
ghostwriter replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m hoping that we keep McKenzie. He’s good for a few big plays a game. Obviously Brown and Beasley are solid performers as well. Andre Roberts is also a solid return man, I think I’d keep him around for his contributions to STs alone. Some folks may say he’s average but he has sure hands and he constantly pushes the ball out to the 20-25. I actually like Roberts for that reason alone. I’d like us to draft two guys RDS 1-3. Double up on a need area in a deep draft. I see our WR group as: Brown, Beasley, McKenzie, Roberts, draft, draft. Wouldn’t mind Henry Ruggs RD1 and to follow through with Stephen Guidry in RD3. 1. Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama 2. Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson 3. Stephen Guidry, WR, Mississippi State Free Agency Jordan Jenkins, DE/OLB, 4yrs $40M Shaq Lawson, LE, 3yrs $27M Brian Bulaga, RT, 3yrs $30M Work out extensions for some of our young guys. -
My Off-Season Primer: Position Group: OL

I’d rather bump Ford into LG, sign a solid starting RT and let Nsekhe be our swing tackle. Think you do that and our line is all set.
