  1. You screwed up the entire draft by skipping on Tua/Herbert.
  2. One would assume Beane didn’t do his homework or was not confident in his ability to draft WRs if our draft was such. I expect a WR a RB a DE and a LB methodically taken throughout our draft. Also, Gibson will be a WR at the next level so in @BuffaloHokie13 scenario we don’t even draft a true RB.
  3. I think Jordan Love will be terrible. He has no shot at being a starting NFL QB. I have no idea how this kid made the top 20. He’s bad. I wouldn’t take him till the 4th round and even then I’d have zero faith in him as a starter. He’s EJ Manuel all over again and I feel sorry for any team that takes him. Out of the league in 5 years. Please, New England, please take this guy in the first round.
  4. I’m a big fan of Josh Allen, but some folks might say he is a wild QB. At times he misses easy throws that even a high school QB could make only to follow through with a stellar pass that only a handful of QBs like Aaron Rodgers or Pat Mahomes would even think about trying. I think he just needs to be more consistent with his release and his footwork. Sometimes he releases the ball too high, other times too low. He is a gifted QB but can suffer from lazy mechanics. Kid is a really special talent. He has God given gifts that can make him a top 2-3 QB, he just needs to put it all together. I’m a huge believer in Allen, but I say this while knowing that this is about the long haul. It may take another year or two before he is polished enough to be the QB we wish him to be. That doesn’t mean that he won’t pay dividends before then, nor does it mean he’ll be a poor QB. It just means that he needs some time before he reaches that upper echelon of QBs. I’m grateful that we have a great defense and running attack behind him because that aspect is paramount for us if we want to win the division and make a push in the playoffs. Allen is raw, but he has a roster loaded with talent behind him. He doesn’t need to do it all, he has plenty of help. Let the defense do their thing, hand the ball off to Singletary and get the ball to your playmakers. Even if Allen just throws for 4,000 yards and 28 TDS while keeping the turnovers down, that’s probably good enough to go to the AFC Championship game or even a Super Bowl with this roster. Don’t try and do too much. He’s just not there yet.
  5. There’s some truth to that but I still say that those 10-20yd throws are where QBs are made or broken. Sure, the occasional deep throw keeps defenses honest but the short to intermediate throws are more important for QBing. Many, many good QBs have had stellar careers as surgeons dissecting defenses underneath. Very few QBs have had a stellar careers throwing Hail Mary’s every play. The shorter the throw, the higher the completion %. The longer the throw, the lower the completion %. It’d be nice to see Allen connect more down the field, but let’s not pretend like his shorter game doesn’t need more work. He looked good there but I think he could use to touch up his game there too.
  6. I couldn’t careless about the deep ball. Give me a QB that can work those short to intermediate throws with precision accuracy all day over the occasional deep ball. I think those 10-20 yard throws is what makes or breaks a QB. Sure it’d be nice to see but I’d love to see the analytics on how much yardage and production comes for the average QB on passes over 40 yards. I’m guessing it’s not much. I prefer the death by a 1,000 cuts approach instead.
  7. I think Dawson Knox is going to be a real good player for us and I haven’t given up on Sweeney yet. I think Sweeney can be a nice #2 option behind Knox. I think we’re golden at tight end, we simply need to let them grown n develop. We have a great base for a stew, just got to let the juices thicken and simmer together. I think we see these two guys take a huge leap this year. If you compare Knox’s stats to other elite TE’s numbers in their rookie year it’s damn near identical. He has so much potential it’s insane. Since they were looking to add a veteran I think that’s a more damn statement that maybe Sweeney ain’t there yet, but still a 7th round pick on a stupidly cheap contract for the next 3 years, what’s not to like? He can block, can catch pretty good, may not get a ton of separation but still gets open nonetheless.
  8. I think you have to put Swift above Akers. I really like Taylor and Dobbins as pure rushers but Swift and CEH can really catch and add an element to the passing game as well. In a modern passing league some would argue that Swift and CEH are more versatile and valuable in today’s league so it’ll be interesting to see if we go with a pure rusher or a do it all kind of RB. And that’s not to say Dobbins and Taylor can’t catch, it could simply mean that they weren’t asked to do so. I’d probably rank them as Taylor, Dobbins, Swift and CEH in that order. Not a fan of Akers, I’d probably have Dillon and Moss ahead of him followed by Perine, Vaughn and Benjamin. I don’t think Akers will be any good.
  9. Oh, yeah baby!!! That’s what I’m talkin’ bout! Nearly spit my tea out I was so happy to see that. He gets it, he gets it.
  10. I think Fromm is better. I don’t think Jordan Love is any good.
  11. I think if a trade were to materialize it’d have to be after Burrow was drafted. Maybe the Bengals covet Tua or Herbert but there is no guarantee that either of them’ll be there at 5. Washington may take one, the Chargers could trade up, lots of things can happen before that 5th pick. We may see a player swap plus picks after the fact ala Rivers and Manning but the Bengals would be fools to do anything now. No guarantee they get one if they do.
  12. I don’t think most people sit down and actually watch every prospect in every game they’ve played. Most folks watch YouTube videos and maybe draft pundits breakdowns and analyses and color commentaries on X player. I think if you do that you are more informed than 99% of fans. There’s a few out there that actually sit down and watch every game but they’re unicorns but take Kyle Dugger for example. How many people here watched even one single Lenoir-Rhyne game? That doesn’t stop fans from banging the table for this D2 small school prospect in the second round. And I’m cool with that so long as you paid attention to the combine, at least watched some clips and highlight videos on YouTube. That’s better than banging the table for a guy because he’s 6’8 or because he has dreadlocks and his name sounds cool.
  13. I think you stick to what you know and what got you there. You stick to the process, focus on your ways and what you’ve been doing to get you up to this point. Don’t get caught up in what other people are doing or saying. Stay true to your vision and your plan. Don’t believe the hype, good or bad. Stay in the present, don’t put added pressure on yourself, one opponent at a time, week by week, day by day. Stay mindful.
  14. No they weren’t ready for success. They finished 7-9 without Andrew Luck. Their defense finished 18th in points, their offense was 16th in points and once again they finished 7-9. Sounds like a pretty mediocre team if you ask me, not a team that is serious about competing in the playoffs let alone a Super Bowl. Outside of TY Hilton they had nothing at receiver. Nyheim Hines was their second leading receiver with 44 catches and 320 yards. They had a couple solid players I guess but their roster as a whole was underwhelming. Luck left because Irsay was too busy popping pills ? ? instead of building a legitimate roster around him. Oh, yeah. 7-9, one more time.
  15. No need to be salty over some minor BS dude. He walked away cause the Colts sucked and their ownership is crap.
  16. I know but he’s only 30, he’ll turn 31 in October IIRC. If he came back he would make lucrative money. Could he be tempted to come back? Could play another 10 years for a better franchise.
  17. Mims would be absurd if paired with Stefon Diggs, Brown and Beezer. It would be disgusting, sick and repulsive. How would teams stop that? It should be talked about.
  18. Jonathan Taylor, no contest. He should be a first round pick but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Swift goes first. CEH and Dobbins are all worthy options as well. Hoping the run on RBs doesn’t start till RD2.
