I mean, I guess our defense could put up a fight, it is the NFL — stranger things have happened.. But I expect the Chiefs to drop 42pts on us.. And the only problem is the Chiefs defense is a heckuva lot better than ours — meaning, not only will Allen have to out duel the reigning Super Bowl champ and best QB in the game but he’ll have to do so while playing against a much harder defense than the one Mahomes will have to face... Don’t see it happening.

Well.. How many teams around the league boast of having a Frank Reich caliber backup QB on their roster? And if you did have a Ryan Fitzpatrick quality of backup on your team, wouldn’t you rather have the worst possible option instead? Think about it.. if Allen goes down, we’re picking top 3.. Could get a Bosa caliber player there, Garrett or a Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson.. better than finishing 8-8... If Josh goes down I want Nathan Peterman to come back to Buffalo.. give me the worst possible QB imaginable if Josh goes down.. load up on ridiculous talent to load our roster up with for when Josh comes back..

Texas Tech was viewed as a school that ran a college system that wouldn’t translate well to the pros.. People thought Mahomes was a product of that system.. Mahomes like Allen coming out was rough around the edges but ultra talented.. poor mechanics but elite arm strength and supremely talented.. Lamar fits in here as well in the sense that he was off the charts as far as talent is concerned but many wondered if he had the brains to be a good passer.. Point being, nobody thought these guys were pro ready by any means, all had question marks and concerns.. It goes to show you that when drafting a QB, potential is something you covet above all else because if your coaching staff is worth their beans, the QB with the higher potential threshold will be the better QB in the long run over lesser talented pro ready QBs.. (Mayfield, Darnold, Rosen) vs (Allen, Mahomes, Jackson) I count two MVPs on the project QB list and none on the pro ready list. Always draft for potential.. swing for the fences every time.. if your staff can’t develop a QB, that coaching staff will be out the door in three years time anyways..

Y’know, before Josh it was Pat Mahomes.. rocket arm QB, poor mechanics, came from a gimmicky offense.. Even Lamar Jackson had questions to a large degree.. Truth be told, if you have an OC worth his salt, why take the lesser talented QB? If your coaching staff is any good, why not take the more talented player and work out the kinks?

So much about drafting a QB is about where they land, what franchise, how good the scheme fit is, how good the coaching staff is, how good the talent is around them etc.. This is why Lamar Jackson went 32 overall yet still won a MVP and Sam Darnold will likely be a backup QB next year.. Going to the wrong franchise can absolutely break the best QB even if he is the #1 overall pick..

I think they expected more.. no doubt.. think we all did.. we’ll likely see someone added next year..

Well, I think you give him 4 years. At the very least you have a great #2 option behind whomever. He’s on a very cheap deal so I see no harm in keeping him around.

I think Dawson Knox may develop into a good TE.. Very raw coming out, off the charts as far as athleticism and potential is concerned.. Sometimes you just have to let guys develop.. Not saying he will be good but I’m saying if he really puts in the effort he can be great.. He’s the Josh Allen of TEs..

Don’t expect me to trash the guy because the Bills didn’t sign him, he’s a good back the Jets just suck but of course he’d go to the Chiefs over Buffalo. It’s not that the Bills aren’t desirable, it’s just that the Chiefs are coming off a Super Bowl win and as good as Daboll has been Andy Reid has consistently been one of the best for 20 years now. Obvious choice. He’ll do well there.

I’d give them a 2nd plus Cody Ford for him.

Is it coaching? Or is it the players? Ed Oliver had 5 sacks last year but now he’s a total bum? Edmunds made a Pro Bowl but now he sucks? Tre White has also looked bad too and he was once a top 2-3 corner in the NFL. That’s three big time players for us who are now marginal starters at best! I think Eric Washington has done a terrible job with that DL. Losing Bill Teerlinck has really set this defense back.. He had our guys playing great. Think it starts in the trenches and our DL has been absolutely terrible.. People are getting hurt because teams are getting 300lbs linemen and 250lbs RBs into the second and third levels of our defense.. surprised that Poyer and Hyde are still alive..

How about 10 years $100 million?

He’s heartless if he goes to Miami.. In Kansas City he would be behind CEH and they are more of a passing team but he’d have a chance at a ring.. In Buffalo I think he’d be the main back. and would catch lots of passes from Josh and would likely earn a nice second contract in the process.. Tough call..

Can’t expect Allen to put up 30+ pts every game.. Especially with no defense and no running game.. this team rides on Allen’s arm... without him we are looking at maybe three wins total on the year.. It’s not reasonable for us to ask him to put up more than 42 pts... this loss falls on our defense and lack of running game.. That first interception was all on Andre Roberts, not Allen and it killed the entire momentum of the game.. Defense sucks so bad... need to cut just about everyone and spend some serious draft picks on that front seven and maybe a few corner backs... Milano should walk, a high draft pick should be spent on inside linebacker and Edmunds goes to OLB... More importantly I think Leslie Frazier and Eric Washington need to be fired... Definitely need to see some coaching changes..

Defense needs to be gutted.. Frazier and Washington need to go.. been given vast resources on defense and have done nothing with it..

They’re so terrible! So much for Oliver being the next Aaron Donald.. Edmunds also should be moved out to OLB.. but at this point I’m not sure if I’d exercise his 5th year option.. Also, Eric Washington has seemed to set this defense back quite a bit... and it looks like losing Bill Teerlinck has been of a huge detriment to this defense.. What can Allen do at this point??? Our defense is right up there with some of the worst defenses in the league!!! 42 points! Does Allen need to score 50 points every game? Not to mention our running game stinks! Even the best QBs need good teams around them... Outside of Allen, Diggs, Beasley, Smoke, Davis, Dawkins, Morse and Williams this team stinks! All our promising players on defense took a step back.... I think it’s coaching.. Frazier and Washington suck as coaches and should be fired! Good news is we have a QB, some nice receivers and some nice players on the OL.. Just gotta put a team around them..

Yeah.... he hasn’t been good.. BUT he has 12 more games to show us something... I think that RG/LG spot will get juiced up this offseason.. And Spain isn’t being paid that much, not at all.. $5M/yr for a pretty solid and decent starter is not a bad contract for a capable lineman.. GREAT DEPTH!

Think you should pretty much draft a RB in the third round every other year! Never pay em! Put that money on a nasty OL!

I don’t think Morse is as bad at run blocking as people think he is... I think our guards are that bad.. Run blocking really depends on all 5 guys doing their jobs and right now we only have 3/5 on the line who are executing the way they’re supposed to.. Thankfully those three are our LT, C & RT which is giving Allen a nice pocket to step into and lots of time to go through his reads... Ford has been a total disaster though.. I expected a lot more from him... Both LG & RG need to be upgraded big time if we want to have success pounding the ball... And once again, if or when that happens I think Morse will be just fine as a run blocker..

My friend, my friend! We passed on a top 3 QB only to land another top 3 QB a year later.. that does not happen every day! Had the Browns not taken Mayfield and Ward or the Broncos not taken Chubb or the Jets not taken Darnold or the Giants not taken Saquan Barkley, Josh Allen would not be the Bills starting QB! We didn’t get lucky..... We got ultra lucky!
