  1. 50 yards rushing in the first qtr and Allen isn't our leading rusher
  2. Singletary becoming a force run and pass.
  3. Very nice. Higher on the list of teams we didn't want to see in the playoffs.
  4. Motor was on pace for 1,000 yards as of week 4. The problem was never Motor they just went away from him and took way too long to come back. Now they are running more and getting better at it the more they do it. Yes Moss will benefit from that also but Moss is the epitome of a one cut runner where as Motor has a lot more wiggle. As far as us nonperforming by two wins we are were in the red zone and came up short of putting the game away at least 3 times. We are probably 3 plays in those games from having 3 more wins.
  5. I haven't watched him playing for the other teams but when he played for us he would be better at run defense than anyone we currently have playing DE and as good at getting to the QB as any of them also. Rousseau is the only guy we have that seems like they have a legit chance at becoming a real pass rusher but he's not there yet and the rest of them sellout and only get there some of the time. Lawson was a decent "collapse the pocket" type of pass rusher got there often enough to be a threat. He wouldn't get paid like Addison or Hughes but I bet he'd be more productive than either of them.
  6. I never thought Hughes would be so invisible. I've read about his pressure "rating" and other articles saying hes doing something but I have to say when I watch any video I just don't see him showing up at all. Even the young guys have a splash play here or there.
  7. Scratching and clawing against the Falcons would equal being down by multiple scores against a good team. The Colts showed us that. The emergence of a running game is great and the emergence of sorts of the Dline is great also. That said our special teams woes and double digit picks since the beginning of Nov are concerning. Not concerning like we can't win but certainly an area we should clean up. We have a scrappy opportunistic defense but i wouldn't call it a shut down defense. The defense you read about on paper does not seem like what you are watching on the field. I feel like we are just as capable of winning any game we play (like last year) yet I don't feel as confident. Like I'm waiting to see which team shows up on Sunday.
  8. It's about time Daboll got it. I honestly thought we might just continue to sputter away trying to throw it from spread formations on a slippery field. There is nothing wrong with slowing it down and running the football. It's been a slow corner to round but maybe Daboll is secretly installing a run game into this offense for those times the passing game is struggling.
  9. Singletary looked great. What's more he's always been great between the 20's but he seemed to have found a nose for the end zone as well. We call run plays so little that it's not often we've been able to see the effects of wearing down a defense using the run and by the 4th qtr we basically owned the Falcons today. As far as Allen somehow not being able to throw as well if we run the ball more that sounds ridiculous. If you are running the ball well enough that your QB isn't throwing the ball at all then you shouldn't be having too many problems scoring points not to mention I'm sure Allen can handle it just fine. The games where Allen has been turning the ball over it had little to do with how many times we ran it. There are no tipped passes when you run every down and rip off an average of 5 ypc.
  10. Would love to see Singletary go over 100 for the game.
  11. Just crazy .............. when you give a guy who averages almost 5 yards a carry the ball 15 times he gets you 80 yards. Who would have known?
  12. Here's where we need a big back to come on with Allen. I'll be the first to admit Motor and Moss aren't goal line backs.
  13. blah blah blah Singletary isn't fast enough ......... yawn.
  14. If it weren't for Allen's off the charts athleticism and arm talent his mediocre decision making would be much more apparent. Even then he has games like this where he doesn't seem to understand protecting the football and winning what should be an easy game.
  15. The funny thing is all the "we can't run the ball" talk. We run the ball just fine. We don't have a short yardage or goal line back so we use Allen but between the 20's we run the ball just fine. We just choose not to.
  16. Falcon's defense showing us how it's done ....... 🤮
  17. Hopefully sitting in the locker room losing to the Falcons gives the whole team something to think about and they come out in the second half a little hungrier. It's the GD Falcons. Run the ball more and play defense. We're averaging a first down every two carries we don't need to throw it 50 times.
  18. Averaging over 5 yards a rush any reason we have to throw 90 percent of the time?
  19. We might have one of the best goal line backs in the league .................... Allen.
  20. I think we miss Lorenzo and Kyle both veterans who new how to get it done. One thing I will say for all our edge rushers is that if our interior rushers got better penetration our edge rushers would see more sacks. Kyle used to constantly be in the backfield or disrupting plays. Oliver and lately Phillips seem to be stepping up their games hopefully the whole line is coming around and we will see benefits. It's not uncommon for it to take several seasons for D lineman to develop.
  21. You also have to take into account the difference between someone who has only had 23 passes thrown at them and someone who has 50 plus passes thrown their way. It is great, hopefully he can keep it up.
  22. Sounds good to me ...... someone make that happen.
  23. I like seeing the negative plays the defense was hanging on the Pats offense and I like seeing Singletary getting carries (enough to keep them honest) and being used in the passing game also. Like seeing McKenzie doing well with that said I will be happy when Davis is back to go with him and Diggs.
  24. I think like you said they made contact before 5 yards which is allowed and the cb was going to jam him and he was being physical with the cb but I'm never going to say a fist full of jersey shouldn't draw a penalty.
  25. If Moss was 30 pounds heavier. They keep drafting 205 pound running backs and calling them between the tackle runners. I certainly wouldn't argue with a 3rd and short goaline back to go with DS but someone who came in around 230 plus pounds would be a nice start. That's probably why our third down/goal line back is also our QB.
