They're there. Josh just does not want to throw it there. He'll do it a couple times and then he starts patting the ball and looking downfield and bad things happen. 2 plays later we're punting.
He has about 2 seconds and he needs to either throw it or run. He's not looking short enough, they're covered past 10 yards, and Josh is patting the ball and taking sacks and throwing into coverage.
Double LB spy .................... why because Josh isn't throwing it and they can cover Josh instead of leaving them in zone because Josh isn't looking for the short passes. He'll hit a couple and then right back to throwing it down the field where everyone is covered.
Throw 6 yard passes until they start playing defense differently. Right now they are keeping everything in front of them and rushing Josh and we are feeding right into it by trying to throw 15 yards down field and holding the ball too long.
It was 17 to 10 at one point in the 3rd qtr last year in the playoffs. The offense needs to get their crap together. You can't give Burrow the ball for 30 minutes and expect them to not score a bunch of points.
We were doing great until we stopped doing what moved us all the way down the field. Short quck passes all the way down the field then a run, a screen, and a deep shot and a field goal instead of a TD.
Every play should be a 7 or 8 yard pass. Mix in a run or a shot here or there. Josh thinks every play should be a 20 yard pass and if no one is open run around and make something happen. Meantime the Bengals pass rush is in our backfield in 3 seconds or less and they are playing everything past 7 or 8 yards.
Again the Bengals are covering everything deep. It's not Davis. Josh needs to get it out to Shakir or Kincaid or Cooks and take the 5 or 6 yard gain. He can't keep holding the ball and looking 15 yards down the field and take sacks.
If he's running it's because he just refuses to throw the damn ball. Everytime he targets Kincaid or Shakiir we move right down the field. Then he starts holding the ball and looking down field and the rush gets there and he starts throwing picks. He needs to just take what they're giving us and put some drives together. He can make take some deep shots when we've scored some points and they have to try to stop the short stuff.
He's not looking at anyone short. Everytime he targets Kincaid or Shakir we move the ball then he starts throwing 15 to 20 down the field and the Bengals are waiting for it. Shorts stuff is there Josh just refuses to take it.
So what we have learned is that Josh is incapable of putting together more than one drive of quick passes and that the refs are going to throw 8 to 10 flags per half and you have to just hope a few go your way.
well at least Josh is finally looking at getting the ball out ................. try a few deep shots later when the defense is used to not getting there because you've already thrown it.
I get it on 3rd and 10 we want to keep them in front of us but there's no rule that we have to give up 8 o 9 on every 3rd and 10. They're going to start converting 4th downs on us left and right.
