  1. While you are absolutely right if we are playing "what ifs" tell me what if Allen hits Hollins on the deep TD instead of throwing it short and we score instead of getting a blocked punt? Not Allen's fault we got a punt blocked but if our stat line had one more Allen TD pass and one less punt blocked I bet we win that game.
  2. I love me some Milano but I feel myself missing Dorian a little bit.
  3. Our defense was awful but at the end of the day we lost more because of our own mistakes. The Rams hung 44 points on us and it still isn't a reach to say that we could have won this game if we had not made a couple of mistakes.
  4. You mean more than than the first pick in the last two drafts and 4 of the first 6 picks in the last 3 drafts? Moreover 2 out of the first 5 picks this year and 1 out of the first five last year were on defense. The idea we spend more on defense than offense especially lately is not true.
  5. My opinion but I'd say more specifically our DT's are making zero plays. The ends have to worry about rb's inside and jet sweeps outside plus try to get to the QB. Our DT's seem incapable of beating the guy in front of them and dropping a rb or getting to the QB. I said it before we got over 15 sacks from our DT's last year this year we have 4 so far.
  6. Allen nearly pulled off a "win in spite of" victory.
  7. Yes to all of this and while we are at it could we get some pressure on the QB. Some how some way get someone in the QB's face fast like a safety of the edge. Guys like Stafford with Kupp and Nacua are going to play pitch and catch with our rush 4 and play zone coverage no matter how tricky we think we are.
  8. This will go over like a fart in church but I just realized the drive with the blocked punt was the drive Josh missed Hollins on the deep ball. Allen hits Hollins it's 14 to 10 good guys and the blocked punt never happens. Just sayin ..........
  9. I certainly didn't like what I saw on defense either but we were playing a very different Rams team (healthy Kupp and Nacua) than a lot of the earlier teams faced.
  10. It only made a difference because we played some ridiculous soft zone on 3rd and long, or we didn't stop them on 4th down, or from scoring a TD on that drive, or because we burnt a TO on the goal line for no reason. So because we failed at 4 other things not accepting the penalty is a thing. Otherwise it's a fine decision. I mean you're not without an argument. I see your point but we had just stopped them the drive before and we were making it 3rd and very long and possibly out of field goal range. It's more all the mistakes they made after that bother me.
  11. Did he say maybe someday we'll start making worthwhile adjustments in the first half?
  12. I was always in the house of "run the ball" but clearly we could throw all day on these guys. Moreover the problem was never offense or moving the ball.
  13. We lost by 2. Defense still would have sucked but it's not inconceivable that we could have still won this game.
  14. We had over 15 sacks from our DT's last year. We have (unless I missed someone) 4 total sacks from out DT's this year.
  15. In other news ............. what the hell happened to Oliver and his 9 plus sacks from last year? Did he forget how to tackle a QB? Where the hell have our DT's been? Is it a different scheme up front? What is going on?
  16. I'd be more than happy to place a friendly wager that he defends that decision in any and all press conferences after the game.
  17. Nope. I was actaully expecting McD to call it before the 2 minute warning for some dumb reason thinking the 2 minute warning would be another time out. I was excited when the two minute warning came and went because I thought he understood we needed all three time outs to get the ball back. Guess he fooled me.
  18. One minute of clock (while we still had all 3 timeouts) was well worth hopefully holding them out of FG range. Then we let them back in FG range and then we gave up 4th and 5 and eventually the TD. All said and done we hold them to a FG at all and we possibly win the game. Defense got McVay'd.
  19. The defense adjusted and looked better the second half. I'm not saying good I'm saying better. The adjustments can't come in the second half. We need to start making these defensive adjustments much much earlier. I think we have been masters at playing zone for a long long time but there are games where I think some man coverage would go a long way to making us less predictable.
  20. We don't give up that blocked punt it's possible the Rams score 37 and lose. Hell even if we don't use that damn time out on the goal line I think we still have a chance. It is a shame. Hopefully our defense learned something from this.
  21. For the love of god it would have been 4th and 6 ............ they eventually went for it on 4th and 5. It made exactly a 1 yard difference accepting or declining the penalty. The Rams were always going to go for it. We had to stop them and we didn't. 3rd & 7 at BUF 37 (4:47 - 4th) (Shotgun) M.Stafford scrambles left end pushed ob at BUF 36 for 1 yard (C.Lewis). ** Injury Update: BUF-Ta.Johnson has returned to the game. PENALTY on LA-S.Avila, Offensive Holding, 9 yards, enforced at BUF 37 - No Play. 4th & 5 at BUF 35 (3:53 - 4th) (Shotgun) M.Stafford pass short middle to T.Atwell to BUF 24 for 11 yards (T.Rapp).
  22. McDermott certainly looked surprised and upset when they switched to him on the sidelines.
  23. If someone was to tell me McDermott makes at least one clock management blunder in every close game I wouldn't have a thing to say about it.
  24. Not my favorite answer but you are right. Just don't call the time out.
  25. It didn't matter they were going for it on 4th. Not to mention I'm pretty sure they picked up a couple yards and it would have been 4th and 5 exactly the same down and distance they went for it on.
