I mean they did average 27 points over the last 7 games. Our best receivers over that stretch will be back. Our best receivers from the playoffs will be back and we averaged 28 points in the playoffs. I hate to be the one with all the optimism but it doesn't all have to be gloom and doom. Maybe you don't take one of our WR's for your fantasy team but that doesn't mean we can't win.

Miami's exploded offense and KC's far less potent offense still equals a KC SB win. I'm not saying we couldn't use a Tyreek Hill but I'm also not afraid of running the ball with Cook and throwing it to Kincaid 120 times and working in the WR's. Teams were playing shell defenses on us all day. Short stuff was easy money it's about time we built a team that takes it. They play us tighter Shakir, Samuels, and Cook can all run by someone with the right match ups. I'd actually take the Wr's we have over the ones that played against the Chiefs (given Diggs had a horrible game anyway) and we should have had 27 points on the Chiefs. More if Diggs or Sheffield could catch.

I was under the impression Shaw was saying the scheme would get guys open (because that's what he said) and you were saying those other teams had star athletes and that's what everything was built around. In NE, KC, or on the Rams the offense will move on whether it's Kupp, Welker, Rice, Edelman, Nacua, or Tyreek. Given our offense played well down the stretch and Shakir was our best WR over that period I'm not feeling down on the offense.

Outside of leading the league in receiving I guess. Might be the scheme and not Kupp. Kupp was out the first month Nacua was the offense.

Who leads the team in receiving in 2024? (Most yards)
Maine-iac replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yards or catches? I think Kincaid has 80 plus catches. Shakir probably leads in yards. -
What ever would Nacua have done without Kupp around?
-
I'm buying all of this. Shakir might have a sneaky 1,000 yard season but it would be more like Beasley's 2020 season than any of Diggs seasons. Kincaid leads in catches and Shakir in yards and possibly a healthy Knox is back catching TD's. Hopefully Coleman is Gabe Davis with better consistency week to week.

I know it's not a stat but watching Coleman run and catch at the combine makes me think an NFL coordinator can use that to create catches. I don't think he's going to just run by anyone but if teams are playing shell coverage the way Coleman was running and catching on the run makes me think he'll be like Gabe down the field but with more upside running across the field underneath. Like many have said we'll have to wait and see but at least they addressed the WR position.

I have a problem with Cooper Dejean type players
Maine-iac replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall
Aaron Williams? Bills second round pick at corner. Eventually was our starting safety. -
Anyone else notice how much Shakir was outside. I noticed he was lined up outside on his TD catch and then rewatched the video and when he wasn't in motion he was outside a lot. Not saying he's our new starter outside instead of the slot but he was definitely making plays out there.

I can't think of a player not named Allen who is more physical than Knox. He'll truck a guy or out jump him and we don't have many players left who do that. They over paid him and that's his biggest crime and the reason I'd question his roster spot.

I'm not saying Diggs wasn't a great receiver but our run into the playoffs and then in the playoffs I'm not even sure Diggs led in yards or catches and the offense was still playing pretty well. It's not like he doesn't leave a hole that needs to be filled but if we draft someone who can step in and contribute it will not only help as we eat Digg's dead cap but for a several years beyond that. I would love to see a big dose of Kincaid, Shakir, a good running game, and then a young guy (on a rookie contract) that can compete outside. I'm sure Mahommes misses Hill but he's still lifting Lombardis none the less.

Good one. You're an awesome person. I know I'm bad at math but 100 percent of the fans I've encountered that were douche bags have been online. How's that for math? I watch the Bill's play in NE every year and there are less jerks at their stadium than there are on here.
-
He played just well enough the last half of his last season here that you almost wonder if you'll miss him. Then you remember he sucked 90 percent of his time here.

How is this even a thing? Who in there right mind thinks Peterman should ever get under center and take a snap in the NFL?
-
He did us Thurman style.

Lots of talk about taking a WR day one. Lots of talent there. Anyone else think Coker would be a poor man's Keon Coleman available much later in the draft? If we do double dip at WR he could probably do Gabe Davis things and then some.
-
Cole Bishop a decent day two swing or Proctor a little later than that?
-
You win the toss you score a TD or go for it. Kicking a FG just isn't a game winning plan in OT. Especially against Mahommes.

How do you explain Diggs invisibility act
Maine-iac replied to Coldfronts's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watching a rerun of an old (1990) Bills vs Eagles game. Lofton at 34 years old was eating the Eagles lunch. Diggs should still be dominating and not just 6 or 8 games a year. -
Det @ SF Game Thread (Please keep the Bills stuff out of this thread)

Hopefully a little more toward Belfast than Waterville but I can't talk I live in L/A and not the fancy one in California. Coastal Maine is wicked good. Spent most of my childhood in upstate NY. Still have a lot of family there.
