  1. I'll watch it. We all will. We'll cringe and make jokes, but you know how this will go right? He's a 77 year old widower... Murdering an ex-wife and her boyfriend is a little bit more serious don't you think? Maybe re-evaluate your comment in the morning? I'm a bit tipsy too...
  2. Smart players and hard workers are who the Pats look for. They don't care about past production as you can see by their other WR signings this offseason. BB puts players in position to play with their strengths and doesn't ask them to do things they can't. He wants to resurrect his career and this is the best place to do it. He'll play and contribute for this one year, win a SB, then go out and get vastly overpaid by another team and fail. Just like Revis, Moss, and almost all players BB doesn't resign. Flowers and Trent Brown will be exposed this season.
  3. Well, you could hope the QB marries a supermodel... At least Wilson has done something. Can't say that about Carr, Cousins, or Stafford. Teams have to win before the QB breaks the bank and sinks the team's chances. You're correct that drafting smartly is key, but also signing low cost impactful FAs. Not the Bells, ABs, and Suhs...
  4. While this might have been mentioned in one of the other thousands of posts about this, I'll remind everyone that the sheriff admitted that there never was any human trafficking. Despite the fleeting embarrassment this will soon be forgotten. He paid less than the dinner and a movie it costs most of us to get any action...
  5. All great points, but how will Seattle be able to assemble a cast around him that's good enough to win? More likely, the Seahawks guaranteed that they have zero chance of winning in January/February...
  6. Good comparison. Hogan wasn't expected to be a #1 for my Pats. He was signed to be a #3/4. He averaged 35 or so receptions with decent yardage. He came up huge in the 2016 playoffs. In short, he did his job...
  7. Well, I certainly hope so. If the Pats can get him relatively cheaply... Let him sit behind Brady for 2 or 3 years to learn...Lose the attitude and trash talk... It depends what the Pats thought of him in the draft. BB might not be the best at drafting, but he has no equal when it comes to taking other teams' trash and turning them into treasure. BB takes the mistakes of other teams and puts them in position to succeed.
  8. I would love to see the dysfunction in Oakland...
  9. Look, I pay attention to what the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins do. Same for the Steelers and now the Chiefs. No need to obsess about any other team though. Maybe in 2 or 3 years, but not yet... A S-J? If we add all his catches, yards, and TDs from ALL of his 43 games, they would equal a typical single season for Gronk. Not an exciting signing, but as others have noted, Welker, Lewis, Hogan, Van Noy, and countless others have been able to succeed when properly coached. Who knows?
  10. My brother is a Giants fan in CT. Most sources (for what they're worth) are claiming the team is going defense and will ride Eli this year and possibly extend him for next year.
  11. Yes, I know that situation was unique. What I meant by that example was that something weird that we couldn't predict might happen...
  12. Sure, there needs to be a trading partner. Still there's usually a team like the Jets, Skins, Cards (yeah, I know), or some other poorly run franchises that are willing to be taken advantage of... There could be an Eli/Rivers type deal. If no trade is available, the Cards should grab Bosa or Allen. If you keep agreeing with me you'll be much happier (and usually right!).
  13. This is the Cardinals... The HC is going to give his players social media breaks every 20 minutes. Of course they should trade out, stockpile picks, and build up the O and D lines. Rosen didn't have a prayer last year. Oh yeah, Murray will be a bust...
  14. Good teams trade out of rounds and stockpile picks. Bad teams move up to target players. Generally speaking of course...
  15. Garoppolo WAS drafted to replace Brady. That is true. However, there was no way in the world the Patriots were going to pay the amount of money it would have taken to keep Jimmy once his rookie deal was up. JG wanted to play and certainly wouldn't accept backup $ to carry the clipboard for 4 or 5 more years. All those silly stories about BB being forced to trade Garoppolo have long been debunked and those that wrote those stories have been made (yet again) to look like fools. Most of the Boston media can't wait for the dynasty to end and continue to chirp and scoff at every move the Pats make.
  16. Jets fans are by far the least knowledgeable. Not only are they clueless about the NFL, they have no idea what's going on with their own team. A smudge from the 6 Lombardis...?
  17. You know, as a Patriots fan, I keep up with what's going on with the other teams in the AFCE as well as the competition from other divisions (Steelers for example). I have to say that out of all the teams I keep tabs on, the Bills are BY FAR the most knowledgeable, most logical, and least delusional. There are, of course, exceptions. However, rather than encourage the frenzy of blatant nonsense, you call them out for the BS. That's refreshing...
  18. The sheriff has just started to backtrack on the human trafficking angle.
  19. We Patriots fans feel the same way. He could have hopped on any of his jets and gone to Nevada. Most Bills' fans are actually more logical about this whole thing than fans from other teams. Other sites are "outraged" and feel he should be forced to sell. They still believe the human trafficking angle... Kraft was charged with 2 misdemeanors. Irsay (Colts) was charged with felonies related to a DWI, having hundreds of Oxy pills in his car, and $29K in cash in several paper bags. He was placed in cuffs and transported to the clink. Oh yeah, let's not forget about the dead woman found in his condo... Irsay got a 6 game suspension and a $500K fine. What Kraft did was far less serious. In fact, it wasn't serious at all...
  20. You have probably heard this quote before, but it was Bum Phillips talking about Bear Bryant, "Bryant can take his'n and beat your'n, and then he can turn around and take your'n and beat his'n." If he had been the HC of any of last season's playoff teams, that team would have had the best chance to win the SB. As long as Belichick is the HC of the NE Pats, we'll be competitive.
  21. Hey, I hear you. Look, we Pats fans know Brady only has 2, maybe 3 years left at most. Last season was considered a down year, but his stats were still some of the best in the league in just about every category. Most teams would have loved if their QB played as well. What I saw is that NE often played down to their competition last year. All 5 losses came against non-playoff teams. Ugly football sometimes... He was still the GOAT in the biggest moments of the biggest games. BB will be drafting his successor this year. Will Grier's name has come up several times. In Bill we trust... When both Tom and Bill are gone, I shudder to think...
  22. To prove your point, Brady had 2 TDS to 3 INTs in the playoffs. Not great, yet NE scored 91 points. 11 total offensive TDs
  23. You're absolutely right that he had a lot of help. It seems like many people think Brady had a terrible year and, to use the idiot Kellerman's words is "on the verge of falling off the cliff." They judge his season simply from the SB, but forget the the 2 games prior.
  24. Here are Brady's stats for last season: He completed 65.8% of his passes for 4355 yards, 29 TDs, 11 INTs for a 97.7 rating. In the playoffs: He completed 68% of his passes for 953 yards (250 more than #2 Goff). The passed for 50 1st downs (15 more than #2) and had 14 pass plays that went for more than 20 yards (4 more than #2). People look at the 2 TDs to 3 INT ratio as the basis for the "decline." They scored 91 points (29 more than #2). Most teams would take those declining stats for their QB.
  25. Yup. All the cheap shots opponents put on him game after game. He was grabbed, tackled, and pummeled on every play. 9 years of abuse and he only let his emotions get the better of him one time...
