THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Free Agency Was Over Before It Began

I wish I understood more than poor Doc does. I suppose at the very least ya gotta give the foles-flock credit for knowing what they want in life... so there's that.. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Free Agency Was Over Before It Began

Wait... sooo... no Nick foles?? And, thanks for the time of course! -
SERIOUSLY? Your takeaway from this is This STILL somehow revolves around Foles? Good god man.. I'm starting to think you might be the #1 Foles fan. "If need be"???? REALLY??? That statement combined with the fact that you simply choose to ignore NO OTHER TEAMS (let alone the Bills) share you enthusiasm in his potential. It's like if Matt Cassel had have went back to the Pats 4 yrs later and took over for an injured Brady. Product of the system who didnt screw it up. THATS as hypothetical as your confidence in Foles. I had a blast watching him im the superbowl but... i gotta face the facts. At the very least I have enjoyed our chat but I gotta say... I'm kinda worried if you STILL think they should/could get Foles. Ya GOTTA let it go, for your own sake and sanity

I guess thatd work too. I thought Darnold, but he COULD go #1 (as I suppose so cld Allen as anything is possible) I guess as I mentioned before I get worried Rosen and another non mentor type might not be the best atmosphere bc he could start right away...which was the basis of your post. I guess I find it interesting before the halfway point of last season (one wld think before smoke screens matter) someone reported the Bills LOVED Sam. The Rosen one came out later so I thought 'cool, he is my favorite' but that really could have been smoke. That said, I haven't heard the Bills connected to Mayfield yet so maybe they are all smoke screens! Or maybe....haha

Lesean McCoy: "Man It's Just a Business"

Context, it's a thing -
Lol, you can' t completely dismiss the basis and majority of a sound argument against your point and simply pick out a part you want to dispute. Thats not how sound and quality discussions happen. The bottom line is this... IF, there is a franchise altering potential FQB that can be had for only a 1st and a 4th...teams are lining up to pay the price. Everyone simply laughs at the Eagles with good reason. He was on an excellent team and in an excellent situation. If he could put a team on his back KC wouldn' t have been the disaster it was. He can compliment an excellent team - not make the team excellent. Same category as tyrod except, ya know, he can throw. Anywho- Moot point, as the Bills went w AJ who I think (not that it matters a lick) is a better choice than Foles and serves the purpose you want, which seems to be win until the rookie is ready. As with Foles, my only worry is putting 2 guys in a room who want to be the guy when only 1 can. A Moore, Hoyer, McCown guy would serve that role in a more defined way and would avoid a volatile situation but hopefully that's not even an issue and I'm just getting ahead of myself anyway. In the end, I agree to disagree and neither of us are scouts or GMs. The guys that are didn't view it as a viable option and that's all I really need to know

I don't care about this year AS MUCH as I care about the next 10-15. Before you go down the draft is no sure thing route- noted. IF the Bills wanna throw away assets on a 2nd qb (ie foles) AS LONG AS it does NOT hinder their ability in any way/shape/form to get them through this year then fine. I don't really agree, but it wouldn't make me mad. It s their team, plan, and process. IF the Bills say screw it, we are going to follow the path of so many other failed regimes and decide they just want to be 'good enough' by settling for a potential flash in the pan, fools gold, over hyped guy and put their future in his hands in lieu of taking the guy they love (bc let's face it, if they don't LOVE a guy its counter productive to pull an ej) then they are bound to fail like their predessors. I want to be good like the 90s, like the teams that are in more often than not, like the teams w an elite guy. Getting this right after succssfully working to set it up is my chance at that. Mr Foles however is not. He's...just...not. I'd guess he is more a modern day Jeff Hostetler/Rich Gannon more so than a top ten elite guy. Been there, done that, no thank you. Thankfully, it would appear the powers that be feel the same...bc here we are!! Also if it were SUCH a good idea to hitch out wagon to Foles, why have teams been begging PHI to take their picks for him? A franchise guy for a 1 and 4? Pppfffffttttt take my $$!!! I just can't see it.

but that goes in the face of the people complaining about filling holes while not acknowledging next years cap space. I mean, sure- you wanna throw em a 2nd next yr or the Browns 3rd for Foles? fine. I cant really argue a ton with that BUT you are still giving away something that seems to be pretty valuable towards a position you are already spending a lot on and would be just as well off with some old scrub to mentor if they decide to start him week 1/2/3 etc
-
i dont... nor did i say he did... What i did say, is he spelled it out for the pro foles crowd that it just...doesn't...make...sense.... and honestly, i dont even mind Foles... it just seems counterproductive to what they are trying to accomplish. i mean, they've done everything but come out and hand out a pamphlet to the media about their plan to get up in order to get their guy... but even still, people clamor for Foles, or think they have a 'target' at #12. It seems to be denial - a disconnect with reality as it were. If it makes their day to day life a little easier to live-fine. whatever. "you do you" type thing. for everyone else - it just gets old. Its like seeing jahovas witnesses coming down the street and you just run and hide b/c you dont want to deal with it

and just keep putting off trying to find your young franchise guy for the umpteenth time? For Nick Freaking Foles?? a guy who had a good year once.... then went splat... then strung 3 or 4 competent games together with a dumbed down/simplified playbook? Even IF they didnt want a young guy, how many times do we need to go for the fools gold?
