This is the 2nd thread you've posted this in...Sooo.... you don't want him to pay him, but some other team will want to pay him AND give assets to do so?! Isn't this thought process based on RB being interchangeable? I've never understood why fan bases think like this. We don't want this, but someone else will and will pay us accordingly

Rosen was the "Wrong Josh" after all...

Biggest game of the year, and this is what you want to talk about? Novel thought man -
Then don't waste peoples time complaining unless you have the brains to back it up my man. That is the laziest response ever. You acted like you had the smarts for an intelligent convo so I tried giving u the benefit of the doubt. Youve proven me wrong. I didn't expect you to say I was right, but I expected more than a response sinilar to what my 3 yr old daughter can muster in an argument about watching another episode of TV! Your team is 11-3. Appreciate what you have or go back to rooting for the Dolphins and stop wasting people's time. Pretty simple. In the mean time have fun and I hope you graduate trolling 101, bc that response is crap people pulled back when they were still on dial up....

And... who are you going to replace him with? And how do you plan on getting Allen behind that move? Bc at the end of the day, the impass here is that it matters not who has what colored glasses. It doesn't matter in the least what you think. What matters is what the team as a whole thinks. The anti McD crowd is fighting a fight that at this point in time is just utterly pointless bc until Terry, Josh, and or Beane feel otherwise - the fans don't matter. Many coaches of a lower caliber have gone to and won a SB. SO many things need to go right during a season. He seems head over heals better and in a different league than his predecessors. He's also adapted. Is he perfect? Nope. Is his game mgmnt always spot on? Nope, but then again maybe 2 fan bases in the whole league feel like they can't complain. Do his players play hard for him? They sure seem to. Does Josh like him? They tell each other they love each other, so I'll say yes to that as well. He just became the 5th coach in history w 11 straight winning seasons, some of the best to ever do it with HOF QBs didn't accomplish that. But sure, Joe Schmo must be able to come in and do that too bc he's got Josh Allen. Sure, it'd be nice if he was from the O side rather than the D bc of the continuity it would bring. Personally, I don't like that best case is we look for a new OC every off season bc the last one got promoted - but it's life w a D minded HC. Dude, we've seen S***show coaches around here and this ain't it. Be careful what you wish for...

12/8/24 Game 14 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Rams post game Thread

It's possible, McD mentioned they wanted to go w their best play this yr rather than throw in his presser. I guess we may never know -

Let's see what happens next week. Today was just a complete D letdown, but this game had let down all over it. That's why no team goes the entire season as the pundits choice for the 'best team'. They still scored 42 points, they just got a reality check that this philosophy won't work all the time. They didn't play a terrible game. Usually they overcome those mistakes, this week they cldnt. They still put on a show and usually this happens in the playoffs. I'm glad it happened today so it's not season over and they can learn something from it. Teams have let down games, and ya can't win em all. Allen didn't suck and had a big stat game for his MVP race. It's annoying, but not the end of the world. All those great Bills team had stinkers, going out west or Monday night. Somedays it's just not ur day. And this wasn't even your usual 'stinker'. They played well enough to win even w a leaky defense. That had to embarrass McD so let's hope he takes it to heart. That missed false start is what really grinds my gears;) -

What i can't understand is why if you are going QB sneak, why do a normal one the first time and then line up for the tush push the 2nd time. The back should have been there the 1st play so they didn't need to give it a 2nd whack -

Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
gobills1212 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting. I didnt see that. Was that said pre or post draft. Not that it matters, I'm just curious bc we will never get anything but the company line publicly. In the same sense that every GM will tell you they got their guy. Hell, I was impressed one GM actually admitted their new QB was 2nd on their QB board. That was refreshing in a sea of 'we got the guy we wanted' public responses -

You are right as you can always sign to an extension or franchise tag, BUT, why then did CAR need to trade up? Simply so Buffalo didn't take the guy they wanted? True, but the entire gist of that particular story is that they had to pivot once that trade occured. Again, it is what it is and the added value of the pick could have made what you say 100% true. But if that's to be believed, for one reason or another, a pivot happened. -

I'd like to hope, and I think, you are right. My initial response when I heard it (and didn't initially believe it) was that that's like GMing 101. How do you let someone do that w/o knowing who they will take. It was relayed as if it was a surprise, but at that point it was also 3rd hand so for simplicity sake maybe that's just how it came off. The good news is, it looks like they both ended up w a good player as well as a player they liked. Again, as they know more than me I'll trust their scouting abilities and it's all good 👍 -

gobills1212 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's simply the most reasonable assertion if its to be believed. It was relayed in the sense that they not had to pivot, but as mentioned by other posters - by moving up and getting the 5th yr control you'd think it'd be for a 'playmaker' or someone worth it. It's like the TLDR is I hope Beane didn't really have the wool pulled over his eyes. A friend in Myrtle Beach says the Panthers seem to have a penchant for drafting local talent. That would be another reason it could have been predicted. But this gist is essentially by choice (both rated equal and the value of the 5th made their decision) or surprise - a pivot had to occur as that wasn't originally what the pick was going to be. Beane said they called him. Maybe your theory is correct in it was going to be A, and then the value added changed it to B. -
Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
gobills1212 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
You'd think it'd be a prerequisite as you are essentially letting them step in front of you. Beane answered in his presser he didn't get out of the Chiefs who they were taking but they thgt it was a WR. That would make one think that at the very least they were comfortable w a few. Your point, is EXACTLY what was so upsetting and why I hoped it wasn't true. I'm sure there was more as again, I don't have the context which is probably important. But the exact disappoint and confusion you express is why I doubted it. Then they hit 2 for 2 on the pics, so I thgt maybe there's something to it -

gobills1212 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
The impression I got was that it wasn't what they were thinking. I personally didn't understand why you'd let someone step in front of you if you didn't make sure it wasn't for the person you wanted. I'd think that would be a prerequisite for making a move like that. In fairness, I don't have any context. Maybe they had them rated similar and the 5th was enough to make them go w/Coleman. The only point was that prior to that, Leggett was the pick and they had to pivot. -

First off, thank you for being much more respectful than someone else here. It's nice to have a convo rather than have someone act like a screw driver. Couple things, for obvious reasons, I didn't want to believe this as A) Leggette was who I was hoping for and B) it's not a great look for someone who I'm a fan of. I have no interest in bashing Beane, and while not perfect, he knows much more about football than myself. I didn't have to say anything and it's more just stating what went through my head through out the day. I had no issue w the trade as a fan last night, but the text I got from someone who knows NOTHING about the draft but works w someone who's husband is a scout said that he was the guy, they didn't expect that's who it was going to be for, so now Coleman is the guy. After umpiring a highschool game I hopped in the car and listened to the pick and sure enough - Coleman. I called that person and they mentioned they also liked the 2nd pick (who I hadn't heard of)- also spot on. It is what it is, my only real point here was that I hoped the picks weren't true - not bc I didn't want the players... but bc I didnt want to believe the story. There weren't specs in the sense that ' the world was ending' or 'they had both similar but Legette more so while they'd have preferred one, they weren't unhappy w the other' just simply that CAR took who they'd planned on taking. Maybe they were close enough he was willing to take that chance w that return. I have no idea. I just feel like if it's one team behind and they want to get ahead of you - I was surprised the stipulation wasn't we had to know who they wanted before the trade. Either way, the point of the post was simply I spent the day hoping that wasn't the pick so I could write off the story as bunk. Then not one, but 2 picks were just as they said. As such, now I believe it. No one else has to, just mentioned it bc I felt it was interesting. Nothing more, nothing less. -

Lol, coming from you of all people. The winner of the thread, Mr keyboard extraordinaire. Show me where they touched you and I'll let proper authorities know. Out of respect for this person it is what it is... but I think the only sack of shite here is in your head my man! -
Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
gobills1212 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was told this was the pick this am and they are 2 for 2 w picks thus far so I believe it. But the other story was Leggett was their guy last night and they were shocked when CAR took him. I hoped it was BS bc everyone knows someone who knows something. I didn't want to believe he got greedy and lost his guy to make a 6th a 5th. I spent all day hoping it was false, bc how do u LET someone jump you and THEN they take your guy?! When this was the pick I was worried it was true bc Coleman was who this person said wld be the pick. Then, later when they said pk 2 was prob Cole Bishop I admit I had no idea who that was. When he was the 2nd pick... it made me sad that it means that story must be true. That said I was a big Leggett guy so maybe that's why it rubs me the wrong way. I'm a big in Beane I trust guy... but this means he got burned. How much it matters remains to be seen, but none the less... -
