They may be looking to use Epenesa to move up in the draft. There has to be a team that had him graded highly in his draft year, and with Miller here there's even less playing time available for him to develop here. Ascending: Gabe Davis Descending: Edmunds. Not so much his play compared to previous seasons, but I think he falls short of expectations despite the revamped d line, unfortunately. The kid just doesn't have it, and I was a huge fan of him as a prospect. Shocking: Allen continues his play from the playoffs and goes on a tear. He uses the anger and pain from the Chiefs game stolen from him by McDermott and co. to fuel an MVP season. While not "shocking" technically since he's the MVP favorite, his season was up and down last year, and he really only took off when McDermott stopped holding him back in the 2nd half of TB game. Packing: Epenesa, see above. and also Ford

Exactly. It has to be the same people saying we have no cap space a couple months ago. So sick of this foolishness, they CAN extend everyone currently on the roster. Hell, there's 16+ mil in dead cap for this year that will be gone going forward. Cap will go up, and Allen and others can restructure. Now Edmunds and Oliver are not smart to extend IMO because one is replacement-level and the other is a part-time player (58% of snaps)
-
Age isn't everything. Oliver plays 58% of snaps and Edmunds, well there are numerous threads about his play. We saw how DT is a position that can be added in free agency this year, and there's a good chance a rookie or second year MLB would be an upgrade over Edmunds. On the other hand Poyer is coming off an all-pro season. The safety franchise tag isn't much more than Poyer's current cap hit, but I think they'll get a 1-2 year extension done soon.

Do you take a corner in the first?

I don’t take anyone. But if I did I wouldn’t pigeon hole myself to one position no matter the need. -

Now you’re saying 2 years from now? I agree with the safety value argument but I’m just sick of hearing bills fans parrot “we can’t pay everyone” Clearly we can. We started the offseason with negative cap space. If we can’t pay an all -pro who can we pay? The cap is going up and Poyer already makes 10 mil against the cap. It will be a modest raise/year and an extension which will create even more cap space this season. Next year we can restructure Allen and others. We can keep every single player that is on this team if we keep pushing cap hits into later years (Not saying everyone deserves an extension). We might not be able to add much more, but do we really need to? Other than draft picks? Hasn’t anyone been paying attention to how the cap works this offseason? Seems like a good chance to finally learn about it with all the signings, extensions and restructures. -
2023 Extension? (Poyer/Edmunds/Knox/Oliver)
Rock-A-Bye Beasley replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall
Definitely Poyer and Knox i also voted Oliver but then saw the numbers. 15 million/year for a player that plays 58% of the snaps on defense is not ok. Same reason I didn’t want this team to draft a DT that high. Let’s see what Tim Settle can do with more playing time. Hard no on Edmunds. There’s a good chance a rookie is an upgrade over him. Give a young guy one year to learn and see how he does. Tag and trade Edmunds if possible. Other wise let the 2nd year player on rookie contract take over. People talking about age in the Edmunds vs Poyer debate need to realize there are plenty 24 year olds who aren’t good NFL middle linebackers, but only a handful of all pro safeties. -

this is a myth on the level of “we have no cap space” from a month ago. -

Yep. And the same people saying we had no cap space are the ones saying “you can’t pay everyone!” now. -

True, but we just got two years of Diggs at a discount so it is possible. -
Seahawks turn down Jets offer of the #10 pick for DK Metcalf

The package we sent for Diggs was less value than the #10 overall pick -

Or even Oliver! ‘Hawks wouldn’t accept 10th pick but we could’ve had him for #9 a few years ago -
traded down and picked Woolen, then Breece Hall fell to 89. Not likely, but who am I to turn it down? 37. Tariq Woolen CB, 57. Dylan Parham IOL, 80. Darrian Beavers LB, 89. Breece Hall RB, 129. Alec Pierce WR, 168. Dare Rosenthal OT

With the 8th pick in round 3 the Seattle Seahawks select Sean Rhyan OL, UCLA The rebuilding Seahawks have already selected a LT, QB, and CB. To solidify the o line, Rhyan will be tasked with playing RT. He was a LT at UCLA, but his scouting report says he his best suited at RT or guard in the NFL. He has a second round grade on the draft network so this is good value. The Colts @CNYfanare on the clock.

You don't draft a guard in the 1st ... or do you?
Rock-A-Bye Beasley replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall
After retaining Bates for 4 years I’d like an OG in the 5th round at the earliest, maybe 4th, but I think that’s a good spot to take a rb. -
I just read joe marino’s mock where he had us taking Woolen at 25. Seems like a bit of a reach, but I think if anyone can develop him it’s the Bills. ive been trading down and picking him in the simulator recently, but I tried one where I don’t make any trades. I ended up getting 3 CBs because Taylor-Stuart fell to late 6th and he’s another guy I think the Bills can develop. The screenshot file is too large to add: 1. Woolen, CB, UTSA 2. George Pickens, WR, Georgia 3. Darrian Beavers, MLB, Cincinnati 4. Rachaad White, RB, AZ st 5. Leticius Smith, OG, UVA 6. Kalon Barnes, CB, Baylor 6. Isaac Taylor-Stuart, CB, USC 7. Luke Goedeke, OT, Central Mich.

Traded down from 25 to 37 and got Woolen. Traded up for Parham (Saffold replacement and eventual Morse replacement) Then surprisingly Breece Hall lasted until the late 3rd round and was by far BPA no trade up needed. I could've also taken then punter with the last pick (4th round)

Gotcha, I was finishing up at work. Seattle needs o line help badly, especially at both tackle spots. They can wait on a QB especially in this class, but why not build the lines for Russ’ eventual replacement? Cross is a blue chip LT prospect. Penning was in consideration here as well. True, I actually didn’t realize he was still available. But I would still take cross as safety is one of the few positions Seattle has covered. (Even though Hamilton could also probably play Will linebacker) I just think building a solid line before a young QB arrives is too important.

Yes, apologies. The Jets @GunnerBill are on the clock

With the 9th pick the Seattle Seahawks select Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

New "ironclad" Stadium deal reached

what is this I just heard about they can leave in 15 years if they pay for the demolition? -
I just remembered Olijah Griffin. I liked him last year before the draft and was surprised he went undrafted. Maybe they can develop him like they did Wallace? That being said, I still hope they draft at least one CB with speed.

How Ralph knew OP would be the absolutely optimal place for a stadium back then AND 50 years from then, just uncanny. What are the odds?
