What is that supposed to prove? Beane said he was pissed of and defended the city. Doesn't change the fact that he traded for Brown then he didn't want to report. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2019/03/08/buffalo-bills-brandon-beane-antonio-brown-moved-on/ Yeah they moved on because he didn't want to play in Buffalo. It would never have been reported as a done deal if it wasn't agreed to by PIT and BUF.

oops meant to say Steelers. I've never heard any of what you're saying. NFL.com reported the deal was done. Any proof of what you're saying would be appreciated since as far as I know a deal was in place then AB said he doesn't want to come to Buffalo. Beane never denied that AB nixed the deal, he simply said the Bills backed away, which could mean they backed away after AB said he wouldn't report to Buffalo.

Seahawks rookie D.K. Metcalf to have knee surgery

huh? -
Depending on the price, yes. Obviously, if he wanted to play here. At this point, there's a good chance he's just trying to miss preseason. The future 3rd and 5th round pick wouldn't be contributing at all either. If he starts missing regular season games that's a different story. The deal was done. We traded for him. Otherwise it wouldn't have been reported. Teams talk all the time and it's never reported as a done deal.

Seahawks rookie D.K. Metcalf to have knee surgery
Rock-A-Bye Beasley replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
" ...doctors believe it will be a quick recovery after getting clear look at his MRI" "When asked if Metcalf has a shot to play Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 8, Carroll simply repeated that they're optimistic." "Metcalf has been in line to be a major part of a Seahawks offense that no longer features Doug Baldwin." "'We're disappointed for him because he was off to a fantastic start, but I don't think this is going to derail him for long'" That's pretty much the rest of the article. If you only read the cherry picked quotes from the OP, you may have thought it was ok to gloat about being "right" predicting a draft prospect is going to get injured. I can do the same thing. I think Cody Ford is too heavy. He had a broken leg in college and that's the reason. I predict he will be injured at some point during his career playing FOOTBALL. We will see if I am correct. Expect a thread about it. -
Yes, that’s why I said it.

Clowney Trending for some reason.

I watched it happen over the last year. Most said WR is the biggest need heading into last season. It became an even bigger need as the season progressed. We signed two 30 year olds (Beasley is only 8 months younger than Hughes btw) in the offseason and suddenly the position is fine and DT is the biggest need heading into the draft. I like the Oliver pick but WR is still a bigger need. I’m all for a Clowney trade then draft a WR. I think some of the same ppl afraid to pull the trigger for clowney will be banging the table for a pass rusher with the first pick. -

Just wait til next offseason or even sooner. 80% of this board will be saying we need to draft a DE instead of a WR. -
Not sure he likes to do that. Kinda had to this year.

What does that even mean?

This makes little sense and doesn't address the point being made. Good point. But the fact that they can't re-sign him this season isn't their fault. So they're not going to get a bad reputation for not signing him this year. Next season is a different story, and I agree with you it could get dicey. If he comes in a and plays great and ends up liking it here then we have the cap space to sign him long-term as well. If not, we get a 3rd round pick back. -
We have enough cap space for the 120% and if he walks we get a 3rd round comp pick back.
-
I agree, but there are no star players available at a discount on offense that I know of. Most of the money we spent this year and last could be off the books soon anyway. We can add talent on offense in the draft and next year free agency. Need to be opportunistic. Wait, you don’t agree with that? You think the offense will jump 15 spots or more in one offseason? We don’t even have a starting offensive line settled yet.

Thats a good thing. It means his value should be lower AND we don’t have to commit until we know how he plays in the system, what Tre White’s extension might cost, and if Allen’s future extension could break the bank.

Problem (for the Texans) is he can’t sign an extension this season. So he is basically a one year rental therefore reducing his value. It would actually be a perfect situation. Allen has two more years before he can be extended. If they got Clowney for this season, not only would we not have to extend him, but we wouldn’t be able to. They could franchise him (and let him walk after 2020, netting a 3rd rd comp pick) or extend him the following year when we have more information about what tre White and Dawkins and even Allen/Edmunds extensions might be worth. -
