  1. You need to be able to throw the ball if you want to give yourself the best chance to win. Can you win with a marginal passing game? Yes. But having a strong passing game makes you more diverse and more difficult to defend. Ever see a team overcome a 14 point 4th quarter deficit by running the ball 20 straight times? I havent. Our passing game is putrid. Its affecting our ability to run the ball. It needs to change. One other thing. The Carucci/Schopp speculation is moronic. This move was about improving the offense only. Mcdermott has likely been analyzing this for weeks. He didnt think Peterman was ready in week one. He does now. Thats it IMO. No alien spacecraft. Bigfoot didnt stop by to say hi. The yeti wont be shoveling my driveway when we get two feet of snow. Is Mcdermott right? I dont think he even knows.
  2. Stones. Ive been on the Tyrod bandwagon since day one and he just isnt good enough period exclamation point. Four 200 yard games out of nine. No 300 yard games this year. That kind of play gives you zero chance to compete with the better teams in this league. ZERO CHANCE. Not saying Petermans the answer. I was really shocked at this move. Your not gonna know what you have in Peterman for about 16 games when d coordinators have had a chance to figure him out and counter what he does best. But come on. 56 freaking yards at home when your behind the whole game and really need to throw your way back into the game. That was it for me. Maybe stones isnt the right word. Maybe absolutely nothing to lose in any way shape or form at all on any planet in any universe in any millenium is the right way to say it. I like Tyrod. Seems like a good classy guy but he sucks as a qb. He just got on the journeyman carousel of backup qbs and likely plays for 6 teams over the next 7 years as a backup. Not a bad gig. Hell probably bank another 20-25 million during that time. Maybe more.
  3. Bottom line is this is a super stonesy move by Mcdermott. I think hes been getting feedback from day one on Petermans developement and has given this a tremendous amount of thought over the past several weeks. The national media seems to disagree which makes me wonder if they even look at the numbers. Tyrods had zero 300 yard games this year and just 4 games of 200 or more after 9 games. Thats really bad. Sometimes ya just gotta say WTF. Make your move. Trust the process?
  4. Dont shed tears for Skin Flutie. His adult film career is thriving.
  5. All Schopps been doing for years is bitching about how the NFL is a passing league and that hed throw it on every down if he could. He pissed and moaned about rex ryan wanting to run the ball and play strong defense with the passing game a distant third in importance with tyrod throwing 20-25 times a game. Hes constantly bitched about other QBs consistently throwing for 300 yards while the bills have had very few 300 yard games in the past several years combined. But now this jackbag wants to cry about benching the guy who rarely throws for 300 yards and needs a strong defense and run game to support him. This joker takes idiot to an entirely new level.
  6. If that tub of crap was our best d lineman then our d line must really really really suck.
  7. So Tyrod who never throws to his receivers throws more to his receivers than Mariota. And Im suppossed to care about this why exactly? It tells me Mariota is even more conservative than Tyrod? Why dont we figure out what Tyrod does in the 6th minute of the 2nd quarter. Maybe that will tell us why hes great.
  8. I dont think thats an issue. They have almost no film on this guy.
  9. The Tyrod era is over. The NO game clearly sealed his fate. I wasnt a Tyrod hater by any stretch but I kept waiting for him to take it to the next level and it just never happened. Give Mcd alot of credit for having the balls to make this move. The reality is Peterman is a rookie and opponents are going to study him, game plan him, and start taking away what he does best. Well see what happens. I hope he does great cause then we can take qb off the draft board. Just heard Schopp come on the morning show bellyaching about it. Anything that pisses off that miserable douche cant be a bad thing. GO NATE. GO BILLS.
  10. Well since I dont see Keenan like EVER can you just fill us in on what he said?
  11. That must have been some righteous bud Gruden was smoking before he said that.
  12. I didnt realize three year olds could type and spell so well. Very impressive. Your arent friends with KirbyJackson and So Tier by chance are you?
  13. Wow. The hostility is really ridiculous. It was a simple question. Is that OK Ted Bundy?Might want to address those anger management issues before the body count hits twenty. I know you had a rough childhood but therapy can do wonders.
  14. And the names of those HOFs who went elsewhere are?
  15. Middle of the road QB. Definitely could do alot better. Could also do worse.
  16. I fully understand the situation. The trade had minimal effect on our cap. Giving us little to no relief in the short term. I would also agree that the defense is more difficult to run against with Dareus than without. My position on this is pretty simple. Mcdermott and Beane both believe it is more important to have players who give their absolute best than it is to have players with talent who play hard if/when they feel like it. Its a position I happen to agree with. I do not believe that you can afford to pay a guy 16 million a year to play when he feels like it if your goal is to win titles. Its a philosophy that NFL many great NFL coaches and GMs agree with not to mention many of the fans who post on this site. Your implication that I know nothing about the game because I agree with that philosophy is incredibly arrogant, rude, AND WRONG. Another posters comment that I feel the way I do because I must know somebody in the front is just as ridiculous. Im looking at this solely from a cultural standpoint. Mcdermott and Beane both believe IMO that attitude and effort are equally if not more important than talent. And that If you want to be a consistent winner you cant have guys who dont but into philosophy. Terrel Owens was one of the most talented WRs in the game when he played. But he bounced around from team to team because he was to much of a headache. Dareus is no different. Ive been watching this game since 1970. Usually about 7-10 hours a week in the fall between college and pro. I was a season ticket holder for 15 years. I feel pretty comfortable about my knowledge of the game. I get that trading him gives us minimal to zero cap relief. I also agree that his presence on the field makes us a better defense but I firmly believe that attitude and effort are more important in the grand scheme of things. Tom Brady isnt great because of his talent alone. Hes great because of his talent AND work ethic. Collinsworth brought that up last night. That Bradys reputation for being the hardest worker on the team is a huge reason for his productivity and overall impact on that franchise. The FO is trying to instill that attitude in this team. They place a very high value on character. Something that is significantly lacking in Dareus. Do I think Dareus is a bad guy. Absolutely not. He just doesnt seem to love and respect the game the way a franchise would want from its highest paid and most talented defender. Mcdermott and Beane are looking beyond ability alone. They want guys who are willing to bring the right attitude because thats what wins championships. Dareus simply doesnt bring that to the table. He has hall of fame talent. Theres no doubt about it. But he also has a piss poor attitude that prevents him from being anywhere close to the player hes capable of being and in the mind of the Bills that appears to be very important. Having talent matters a great deal but in order to give yourself a shot at being the best you absolutely have to have an equally great attitude. Dareus doesnt have that. Why do you think we could only get a sixth round pick for him? Teams should have been lining up to get him. Even a third or fourth rounder would have been a steal if he played anywhere near his capabilities. They pretty much gave him away because they couldnt do any better and they did it because the headaches he brings off the field far outweigh the productivity he brings on it. This team has a ton of holes. Having Dareus on the team is not the difference between them being a contender for the Superbowl and looking like they did yesterday. They have far to many other problems. Tradavious White is the kind of guy they want. Hes productive but more importantly he wants to be great. He has a championship mentalllity. Always striving to be better. Never satisfied with his game. Those are the guys I want. Not someone whose always late for meetings and someone who rarely gives their best. Its much harder to win big when you have players like that.
  17. They got totally outclassed by a team that might be the best in football at the moment. Saints dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides. Best team weve played so far by alot. Hope they get to the Superbowl and kick NEs a$$.
  18. Its gonna take three drafts with one of those picks being a starting qb to turn this mess around and build a real contender. Talking about firing them is absolutely ridiculous when many where predicting a 4 win season. I still trust the process. Its gonna take a while longer. Not happy about that but it is what it is.
  19. Wow op. That was alot to read. How long did you take to write it. Sorry but my adhd kicked in and I couldnt get past the second paragraph. That said Im thinking three drafts is about whats needed. To be a legit playoff team. They need an entire oline and an entire dline. A qb. At least one wr. A rb(mccoys gonna be done soon) two linebackers. Probably a corner as well. Not gonna get all that in one offseason. Yep. Three drafts should do it. Id take the qb next year. Start developing him asap. Maybe the streak stops at 20. Not sooner.
  20. I dont think your seeing Peterman until we are mathematically eliminated. Whether thats right or wrong is completely unknown. We are still in the sixth spot and Id bet that Mcdermott is gonna look back on the first seven games and convince himself this is fixable. If thats what he believes hes not pulling his starter. Especially when the defense gave up 47.
  21. Im willing to let this play out. These guys have a vision on what kind of team they want to build. Firing people every two years gets you nowhere.
  22. We dont win the last two weeks with Dareus. We looked like crap two weeks in a row on both sides of the ball. Plus we arent getting the ridiculous number of turnovers we were getting earlier. This 5-2 start is looking exactly like the 2011 5-2 start.
  23. Saying Im not going to talk to you anymore because you dont agree with me is about as childish as it gets which is exactly what he did. He got exactly the response he deserved.
  24. Keep sucking your thumb.
