I usually almost puke every offseason when we have a QB competition. It's been the code words for saying "still in QB purgatory". When McD said it would be an open comp for every spot last year, I knew the first year coach wasn't looking for a real comp at QB. However, this is the first time I can't wait for one! Looking forward to going to camp a few more days than usual to watch it. Without knowing who the rookie will be, and guessing they give Nate (on paper) a shot, it's going to be interesting. I haven't been a fan of Baker simply because of my bias towards wanting a traditional taller pocket guy, but I think his personality would make this comp very exciting. We are finally headed in the right direction behind center (speaking of center...no...not gonna hjack my own thread). AJ vs ________ vs Nate. Can AJ prove he's the guy who started a few in 2015? Can the rookie prove to be undeniably a day 1 starter? Can Nate even make the team? Can't wait!

Tyrod named starting QB of Browns
ProcessTheTrust replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Makes sense. Draft Barkley#1, QB #4, and run the offense that works for Tyrod from the start with what should be the best running game day 1. If it fails or Tyrod gets hurt, move on to the real franchise guy...and you still have Barkley!!! -
That's a good take. Admittedly, I'm not superfan enough to have reviewed his All 22's, but based on his highlights, looks like his deep stuff has improved. That said, if it's still not that great, as long as HE knows that and doesn't try to force throws beyond his range the way Fitz used to, he's going to be a good/great game manager-bridge guy.

Cliché answer - if they win. The idea of what he was supposed to be here could be realized there with a competent offensive mind AND the supporting cast he needs. I'm no TT fan, but I think when he has all the pieces and is used correctly, he's a weapon. The key statement - IF he has all the pieces. I was never sold on him here because I quickly realized he can't carry a team. He just plays his role. My guess is Barkley #1 and one of the big 3 QBs at #4. Undergo their version of a TT experiment and pull the plug if it doesn't come together.

If AJ can be that guy he showed in his few starts, AJ all day. That guy on this team would blow our minds and make it hard for the coaches to make the transition to the rookie. That said, I think TT will be a great fit for Cleveland. I think Hue will know how to get the most out of him, not trying to squeeze him into a pocket guy. Draft Barkley 1st overall and have the nastiest backfield (Barkley/Hyde/TT) in the league.

Browns are going QB with 1st pick
ProcessTheTrust replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see them taking Barkley. Hue will use TT correctly. With a running threat of Barkley, Hyde, and TT, Landry and Gordon are going to be running free. TT is far from a pocket guy and Hue can draw up a scheme that gets the most from him. Can't stack box. Can't drop back too far. Barkley #1 all day. -
Very happy with this move. Expecting a bridge guy but hoping he uses all that bridge talk to inspire him to make it hard for us to make the transition.

Poll: Foles for McCoy??

It's not too late to either edit the title or take the whole thing down. Like I tell my kids, don't just say sorry, do something to make it right. -

Solder to Giants - 4yrs $60 mil
ProcessTheTrust replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly! Butler and Solder without the luxury of ref assistance will be exposed as decent, not stars. -
I really appreciate you guys who stay on top of all the updates and keep us posted. I keep coming back here and refreshing every 15 min. Keep up the good work!

Sam Bradford to Arizona Per Schefter

Rapoport for rumors that he posts like facts, Schefter for solid news after the fact. -
Mayfield and Rosen are out for Buffalo!
ProcessTheTrust replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never a dull moment around here. The Mayfield height point isn't that crazy. The Rosen religion point is bonkers. Grade A. -
Could he end up healing up and turning into an all pro? Sure. As long as we get our franchise QB, it won't matter.

Go on record about.... the Tyrod trade!
ProcessTheTrust replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A pick that high = a day one starter to fill a hole. Fantastic deal for a guy who really shouldn't be starting in the NFL. -
Sal about FA QB's For Bill's - Hint ?
ProcessTheTrust replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The plan is always to let the bridge start for a year or 2 while you groom the rook but the league just doesn't play that way anymore. If the rook is the real deal, he will find his way on the field year 1. -
Remember when Sammy was just being a decoy that game Vontae Davis locked him up? My point? Nothing. Seemed like a fitting thread to plant a pointless comment.

Panthers Cut RB Jonathan Stewart
ProcessTheTrust replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reminds me of when they cut DeAngelo Williams and the Steelers picked him up. He had a good year when Bell got hurt. No clue if Stewart has enough left in the tank but I like the idea of entertaining the thought. -
I like the signing. It's not throwing the bank at him. If he can be 80% of his former self, that's a great #2 corner. If not, it was worth a shot. And it doesn't hurt to have a vet teach White a few more things.
