Nfl.com: Potential landing spots for Tyrod Taylor
ProcessTheTrust replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Without an ounce of hate towards TT, I don't think he's in the mix to start for anyone. The tape is out on the guy. No one will win with a guy who plays his game. I think of Kap and Wilson a few years ago. Both were pretty much equal, and it worked...till DC's figured out how to kill the run aspect. Wilson evolved into a decent passer, Kap...well...not trying to open that convo...just saying....his arm never progressed. Tyrod is closer to old Kap than new Wilson. Therefore....good luck TT. You will make a nice back up but can't see anyone giving you the reigns for their team day 1. -
[closed]Is Peterman really ready?
ProcessTheTrust replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've seen concerns on all the pages/boards about "you can't throw the rookie in too soon, you'll break him like they did EJ". I'm arguing Peterman is nothing like EJ. Peterman has nothing to lose. Best case, he lights it up and he's our guy. Mid-case he looks okay, we still draft our future and we have a nice back up. Worst case he is hot trash and at least we know and don't force the issue. -
I think so. Not just based on this decision but going back to right before week 1 when Tyrod was in concussion protocol and the potential for Peterman to start was real. From that time coach said he believed he was ready. The fact that he has been the #2 for a mobile QB who has missed time due to injury before also confirms he's been ready all along. How many times did Tyrod get banged up and maybe could have stepped out but knew the moment he left the field, his job is probably lost? I have no worries about the rookie being "broken" by being thrown in too soon. I don't see any reason based on the sample we've seen that he won't do what he does....get that ball out quick in tight windows and let the playmakers do what they do.

Nathan Peterman to Start this Week.

Our passing game has been so anemic for so long, it won't take much for Peterman to look like he's lighting it up. Those quick throws allowing playmakers to actually do something will be so refreshing. #2 will surely have a few throws off the mark, working on timing, etc...but he will look like a real QB out there right away. Without question. -
Sure, they could HAVE, but it makes sense that didn't. McD didn't put the C on Tyrod's jersey, the team voted for him. McD respected that and believed that if he could just take a tiny step forward, it could work. And Tyrod seemingly took that step at times, but the past 2 weeks showed it's not consistent. Either way, it's not that big of a deal. Not like we're hurting for draft picks. It was worth trying to see if Tyrod could do it. He couldn't. Moving on!

I would agree with Denver except I wonder if Elway is tired of trying to squeeze by with this formula of dominant D, running game, and game manager QB. He struck gold and won it all but that formula hasn't worked for the same team to win it all 2X...maybe ever? My money would be on them making a move to get a potential franchise guy this draft. Meanwhile, I'm dreaming of us not having to play that game knowing we already have him!!! No clue if that's the case but so happy we can find out.
-
While many always tried to divide Tyrod by "haters" vs "lovers", I never subscribed to that nonsense. I always liked the guy, could see the talent was there, but pulled my hair out watching him play overly conservative. He was a great mysterious back up for Flacco all those years, got his shot to be THE GUY, didn't pan out. Now he can go back to being a really solid back up somewhere. Wish him the best....but we must move forward!!!

Why Do You Cheer If You See No Hope
ProcessTheTrust replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I bought my Pats fan friend a ticket to Pats game in Buffalo, the one where we were going to break the sound record, haha! As we watched Brady dice us up from the first possession, I couldn't believe I paid double for that day of horror. -
You can't quit on a 5-4 season
ProcessTheTrust replied to row_33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One of those 2 for sure. It will come down to a legit QB who isn't afraid making plays down the stretch. Unless you have a defense you can ride, TT isn't getting it done. -
Why Do You Cheer If You See No Hope
ProcessTheTrust replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me, it's all about being realistic during the week. Come gametime, throw aside all logic and hope for the best, and sometimes eat tons of crow for things I said in preseason...only to regurgitate it come mid-season...and the hopes of eating more crow late-season. it's not logical. It's just choosing to use a brain till game time, then letting emotions have the day. -
Perhaps I wasn't really talking TO them as I was addressing those with the same questions? Nah. I honestly thought they were scrolling on here between takes.
-
Listening to Murph, Donald Jones, and Chris Brown rattle their brains to understand why Tyrod won't take risks even when it's 30-3. Guys, don't you know? If he keeps his INT # low enough, he may get another 4th alternate Pro Bowl spot.

11-13: McDermott and Coordinator Pressers
ProcessTheTrust replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would expect he would defend his guy if he really believes in him. But you are right. He doesn't. He's just stuck with him a little longer. -

He just gave a Miss Teen American answer to the question, "What do you have to say about hearing people say 'you just have to make Tyrod play QB'?" Something like "Well, everyone watches tape and sometimes they figure things out, like a Major League pitcher gives it away sometimes. You have to take a look at that". What?????? -
Every Nate Peterman throw from the Saints game
ProcessTheTrust replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually agree with you on that one point. Some Ravens fans felt the same way about Tyrod and for a period of time, felt they lost a real gem in their old back up. But here we are. Sitting in reality. Just over halfway and praying his old team that still has a halfway decent QB doesn't creep up and take our spot. I don't think we should try Peterman just because he's the back up. I'm basing it on what he's shown in college, preseason, and now that little tiny window he showed yesterday. If he fails, so be it. I just struggle to see how he can be any worse than the current guy. At minimum, you discover you have a very legit #2 for the next few years behind your future guy next draft. -
Glass Half Full / Half Empty / What's next

Someone on some WGR show (can't remember which one) said it best. We aren't missing the Marcell from this year. He was trash. We are missing the Marcell from the past few years. The guy who would eat up double teams and take away the up the gut run game. Living off of flukey turnovers was fun, but now we are exposed as a really thin, easy to push around defense. Our ONLY hope is to have an O that doesn't surrender 3 and outs 4 times in a row. I believe we have a QB on the roster who could facilitate that but who knows if he ever sees the field while still alive this year. -

The cute thing to say is, "If the coaches felt Peterman was better than Tyrod, he would be starting". As if it's that simple. From the day these guys were hired, they preached "Every position is open to competition". Certainly...except QB. No new coach wants to add an actual QB comp while installing everything else from scratch. So as they look to build a new system/culture, they have the team vote for Captains, and sure enough, they vote for TT to be one of their guys. They, like many of us, NEEDED to believe this guy can take that step and not be a career back up. Then the preseason happens. While Peterman didn't have a Russell Wilson "steal the job" performance, he was clearly the better NFL thrower of footballs. Then he returns to the bench. Then he comes out yesterday, and picks up exactly where he left off. Yes, against a prevent D consisting of some back ups, but that doesn't diminish his throws. Coaches know you can't pull the plug on TT until either you are mathematically out or his play is so horrible the other "leaders" ask for the change behind the scenes. It's like any other group of people in life. Politics. -

Film on Tyrod Taylor should be a master class presented to every rookie - "Gentlemen, this is what happens to a career when you have all the talent to be a franchise guy but you refuse to find your throwing windows by being overly conservative. Your talent will give you a shot. Your reluctance to find your throwing windows will make you lose it". -

If the guy hasn't found the confidence to throw into tight windows or let his WR make a play after 7 years, it's just never going to happen. TT is a career back up who was given a shot. No hate for the guy, I actually really like him as a person and he's easy to root for when EVERYTHING is clicking. Unfortunately, when various parts aren't working, and you need a halfway decent QB to take the game on his shoulders, that's not gonna happen. No one really knows if Peterman is that guy, but we really need to find out in a meaningful way before the draft.
