The flip to RR was the worst call I've ever seen.
pennstate10 replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daboll was really saying it was a bang-bang play. Judgement call. Couldnt prove that Allen had possession, so call on field stood. I dont have the play recorded, but I think Allen had possession, even for a microsecond, before he nudged it forward. Its like a touch pass in hockey. You have control on your stick, if only for the briefest of time. Still say it was a bad call. -

I agree with Hapless. But someone posted in this thread that Daboll said it was a fumble at his press conference. Is this correct, or did above poster misquote Daboll? -

Just to clarify-- Daboll said he thought it was a fumble, or Daboll says that why the officials called it a fumble. It was precisely the same play as last week that was a completion of a 1 yd pass. -

Bills ran that exact play last week, and we were chuckling that Allen had a completion on a ball that traveled less than a yard in the air. That was a pass last week, so this week its a..... fumble??? I'm sure the Bills will send the NFL office those two plays, and tell them to get the call right next time!!! -
I think so.. maybe be its time to remind Chris Childers of his hot take .... https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/09/id_take_bama_over_buffalo_bills_says_college_football_analyst_chris_childers.html

Would you draft Oliver or Bosa?
pennstate10 replied to Skins Malone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trading down would be my first choice. Between Bosa and Oliver, I'd take Oliver. His game is very very similar to Aaron Donald. Also, Bosa just suffered a fairly significant injury that will keep him out until the endo of the season at best. -
Wow. This play by play guy is the worst I've ever heard. Doesnt know the down. Doesnt know yardage. y guy is the worst I've ever heard. And thats saying a lot.Doesnt know the players. Too stupid to realize Jarvis Landry's "blocking" earned them two OPI penalties. And complete Browns homer. But hey, he knew 84 was Jack Nicklaus grandson, so bonus points there. Edited to clarify--this was the NFL Network feed. Guys name was Crawford, I think. Pretty sure its the Browns team crew.

LeSean McCoy allegations
pennstate10 replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Okay, so I have a theory that hasn't been put forth yet, and accounts for all of the known facts. 1) The assailant probably wasn't one of mccoys core posse, because Delicia would have recognized his voice. 2) the assailant was an acquaintance of the son, perhaps a known violent thug. Son had perhaps mentioned all of moms jewelry. Son heard acquaintance's voice, said "oh sh**, I gotta get out of here before he beats me too". And goes out the bedroom window. Before you say this scenario is crazy, remember that this is what happened to Sean Taylor. Everyone assumed that he was killed by a thug who he had a beef with, turned out to be an acquaintance of his wife. " -

Is "faith" a requirement under McD?
pennstate10 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fact. Satan played forward for the Sabres in the 1990s. -
Yikes! that was a truly brain dead article. One of the first wrong assumptions was that all the trades were made to amass draft capital. Not true. Just as important was shipping out players who didn't fit the process, for one reason or another (Darius--lazy, Tyrod-- good guy, but not a Super Bowl caliber QB).

I really wouldnt like a trade up to #2. Such a trade would involve us giving up our entire first 3 rounds, or several early picks this year and next years #1. Which would really, really, be a bad idea. Fortunately, I think McShay is a buffoon, mostly wrong about everything. And I do "trust the process" I think Beane and McDermott have a plan, a vision, that has been missing. I think this years QB class is greatly inflated by the sports talk echo chamber. Every one of these QBs has serious flaws. To mortgage the future for a surefire ProBowl level QB is a wise, bold move. But to mortgage the future for a reach is a problem. See III, RG. Or Watkins, Sammy. Its been said that every draft has 10 or so surefire stars. So let the Jets/Giants/Browns reach for QBs, fill up those early slots, and let a true surefire talent fall to us at #12. Like the GA LB, or ND OT, or maybe even Minkah. And if one of the "big 4" drops to 12, pick him up. Or Rudolph in late first early 2nd. As a PSU fan, I'm saying that Gesicki is a pretty good bet. Not a blocker, but a receiving mismatch. I think he goes late first, but I dont think he'd be a bad pick even at #22. Barkley will likely go top 7, and I wouldnt trade up for him. DeSean Hamilton is a very good possession receiver, worth a 5th round pick. And Christian Campbell is a long corner, also worth a 5th. The other PSU players are probably not worth better than a 5. Really looking forward to see how this evolves. I've got to say this has been the most interesting pre-draft season in a long time.

Making the case for Lamar Jackson
pennstate10 replied to 502Buffs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Playing QB in the NFL is about making good decisions, and executing those decisions. I have no doubt Jackson has the arm and legs to play in the NFL. Although if he runs too much, those legs will be injured. He doesnt have a core like Rothelesberger (?sp). His decision making worries me. A lot. He played in the one read and run system. Scan half the field, if the guys open, great, if not, then run. And he is his own agent? And mom is his manager? These may turn out to be really wise decisions. But history says no. This guy doesnt make good decisions. Coupled with an abysmal Wonderlic score.... Pass. -
Based on the above list, the 2014 QB class was rated higher than this years. With Peterman and macaron both above Rudolph. Point being. Dont believe the hype. This is not a one in a lifetime QB class. Its an average, maybe slightly above average class. Don't mortgage the future to draft the 3rd, 4th or 5th best QB in this class.

This statement may or may not be true. I'd have to see the numbers to really assess it. But I know this is true. Since the year 2000, 1 (one) SuperBowl has been won by a QB who was a top 2 pick (Peyton Manning, Colts, 2007). In that same time, three SuperBowls have been won by a top 5 pick QB. Since 2000, 21 QBs have been selected in the top 5. Only one of them (Eli Manning, 2004) has won a Super Bowl. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2017/03/04/list-of-qbs-selected-in-first-round-of-nfl-draft-since-2000/98734644/ These are simply facts. Look at them however you'd like. Not sure that we need a top 5 pick.
