I’m agreeing with Kiva here. I grew up in Tonawanda,left in 1968. Never heard of Buffalo wings at the time. Moved back in 1983. Wings and pizza were popular with my happy hour crowd. I heard the anchor bar story then. I’ve heard the frank and Theresa anchor bar story a billion times since. I’ve never heard about this Young guy until this thread. I didnt know about this rule. It makes sense to me, one of those rare win-win situations. Player gets the higher salary and gets to keep playing, while team gets a break on the salary cap. With this in mind: Klein Phillips Lawson Q Crowder I think Singeltary, Sweeny , Kumerow, and Jones woudl just be taking snaps away from rookies who could gain from game experience and become better. And spare me the story about an elite gunner who averages 2 tackles per season.

That’s not entirely true SF got 2 of their 3 3rd round picks for losing minority coaches to other teams. Saleh and McDaniel qualified as minority coaches. I’m sort of hoping that Bills ask Daboll to take a 23 and me test. I did and found out I’m 1.2% Native American. If Daboll turned out to be 1% minority, would Bills get a retroactive 3rd round pick?

I agree with this. He has ideal wingspan, strength, speed, and explosion. I agree that his feet seem a bit slow, but I think that can mprove with practice. Malcolm Gladwell noted in one of his books that to be expert, elite in any physical action, whether it foul shots, slap shot, or playing a piano, you had to practice that action for over 10,000 hours. So playing tackle just 2 years in college plus the back injury means he hasn’t had enough time to perfect his OT movement skills. I think he deserves more time. But if his back injury becomes a chronic problem, that’s a different story.

Interesting topic. Here is my view. My family moved to State College in 1968. First year Charlie Pittman was the guy. Couple years later it was Mitchell and Harris. Mitchell was the elusive Lightning to Harris's plodding Thunder. Me and my 6th grade chums were dumbfounded when Harris was drafted first. Obviously, Steelers knew what they were doing than a bunch of 6th graders.... Harris was faster than appreciated while at PSU, and, although Mitchell was a quality "halfback" with the Colts, in the end, he wasnt able to stand up to the daily pounding that a feature back in the NFL received in those days. BAck to the original post, I'm certainly intrigued by a 225 lb RB who can run a sub 4.4 40. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does at the combine.

Which of Penn States 2023 draft entrants are a fit for the Bills? Here is my non-expert view as someone who has followed these guys through their college careers. PSU has 8th most players currently in NFL, per SpoTrac. The top 10 are all the usual suspects, except somehow Iowa slips in at 9. There are currently two starters on Bills from PSU, both solid if unspectacular contributors. Ryan Bates and Daquan Jones. PSU has had high profile players overdrafted (Maybin) and underdrafted (A. Robinson, C. Godwin) in the past few years. PSU players going to the combine are listed below: Round 1--Joey Porter Jr, CB. One of the top 3 CB in the draft. Will likely be gone before Bills draft, and not a need for Bills. Pass. Round 2-3--Jayir "Tig" Brown, Safety. Top 5 safety. Strong tackler, good ball skills, not an elite coverage guy. I think would be a good fit for Bills. Round 3-4 -- Parker Washington, WR. Slot receiver I've seen mocked as high as 1st round. I dont think he's a first round talent. Best comp is Julian Edelman, but PW isnt as quick as Edelman. Pass Round 3-5 --PJ Mustipher, DT. Was considered a 1-2 round pick in 2021 before ACL. Not as dominant this past year. Could be a "steal" for a team willing to take a chance, but 1T DT not really a need for Bills. Round 4-6 -- Juice Scruggs, C/G. Had a nasty auto accident that delayed his career for over a year. Seems healed from that , started at G in 2021 and C in 2022. Clearly a need for Bills and definitely worth a Day 3 pick. Round 5-7 -- Brenton Strange, TE. Good blocker dependable hands. Not a need for Bills . Pass Round 6+ -- Michell Tinsley, WR. Good college WR, dependable hands, but not elite speed or separation. Pass

JSN from OSU is certainly a #1 WR. He’s a lot like Diggs. Elite route runner and ball skills. Widely regarded as better than Garret Wilson when both were at OSU. But I don’t think he will be available at 27. The only RB I’d take at 27 is the guy from Texas. Otherwise I’d go best available WR or IOL. I think Spencer Brown has shown enough to give him another year.
