H3LL NO!! There are at least 3 avenues that can lead to much higher level performance. 1) Better offensive coaching. To be clear, Allen hasnt worked with an offensive "savant". A Reid, Shanahan, McVay, or Bellichek. 2) Get his mind straight. Not sure whats been going on, on the field or off the field. But that 1000 mile stare tells me something isnt optimal. 3) Better offensive talent. Bradshaw had Swann and Stallworth. Marino had Duper and Clayton. Aikman had Irvin and whatshisname. Mahomes had Hill and Kelce. You get the picture. Allen has Diggs, who is very good, and a bunch of maybes. Allen is, without doubt, the most talented Bills QB in history. I've seen them all. Kemp, Lamonica, Ferguson, Kelly, Billy Joe, Flutie. Allen has skills that none of those dudes had. Its up to Allen and Bills staff to get the most out of his skills.

I don’t see the Steelers finishing 10-7. All their wins have been by less than one score. Tomlinson is a good coach, but there is a bit of luck in there as well. I see the Steelers as an 8-9, 9-8 team.

I don’t think a 12-5 team has ever missed the playoffs. Not saying it’s impossible but it’s highly unlikely. That would also mean the dolphins had at minimum 4 losses and Bills would have head to head. I think 11-6 Bills team has high likelihood of making playoffs, and a 10-7 team is probably around 50-50.

Officiating was pitiful. I watched the PI call on Bills DB- think it was 31– several times. No way was that PI. Once more, why does a $10 billion industry depend on part time employees. The officials should be full time, and the bottom 10% let go each year. Pay them $500K. You’ll get better quality.

First game I ever saw in person, Joe Namath threw 8 TD passes. But 3 were to the Bills, and Bills won 37-35. McDermott is 1 of the top 2 Bills coaches in the last 55 years. Full stop. Lets think this through. 19 years before McD = 0 (ie, zero, zilch, nil, nada) playoff appearances. 6 yrs with McD = 5 playoff appearances. Fishers exact test p = 0.0000051. Last years team went through extraordinary, never before stress, and still won a playoff game. This years team has a defense that has lost 5 of its top 6 defenders from last year, and is held together by duct tape and bailing wire. Still in the thick of the playoff race. Ah, the defense was the problem at the end of the game. They couldn’t get the key stop. Couldn’t close the deal. Let’s say you’re a high end auto salesman. Dude comes in looking for a Kia, but now you’ve got him looking at a Jag XL. takes it out for a test drive. You’re on him to come back in, don’t go to any other dealers. He come back with his checkbook. You go back and forth a bit, but y ou get him to agree to a deal that gives your dealership a nice $15K profit with a $3K commission going to you. He’s signing the deal when his pen runs dry. You say, no prob, use mine. It’s your favorite pen with a Michigan M on it. Turns out the dude was a huge Ohio State fan. He says ima outa here. You played the deal perfectly, but you didn’t close. That’s why the Bills D is at fault. They didn’t close the deal.

Yup, that’s true. But at the end, they couldn’t seal the deal. That’s a pattern.

Yeah,I get what you’re saying. But,ultimately, championship teams win because they rise to the moment. This defense doesn’t. Game after game, we lose at the gun because the defense can’t get a stop. It’s a pattern, and it’s a fact.

If we step back a second, the loss is really due to the Defense failing once more to hold a lead. Yeah, if the kicker had missed (as he did) , it’s a lucky bonus for the Bills. But really, who ever expects the Bills to be lucky? fact of the matter is, Allen and offense left the field with a lead, as they have done with most of the losses over the past 2-3 years. The defense failed. It’s tough, they have been short handed the past few games. But make no mistake, Bills could and should have won this game with one stop.

Question. if we have 8 special teams only players, why do our special teams suck?

Not arguing that Bills haven’t had a series of tough injuries to top players on D. But part of this excess is due to funny cap gymnastics. For instance, tre whites cap hit is 16.2 mil, while Aaron rodgers cap hit is 8.8 mil. I think the jets made rodgers cap hit low this year by giving hin a $70 million salary next year
