  1. Goes without saying I watched all of Hardy’s college games. He was the return guy for only 6 games. He’s not real experienced, but I think he can be coached up to make better decisions. IMO he was a much better NCB than PR. Very sticky in coverage, good tackler, and good blitzer. Im not sure what the deal is with the injury rumors but it seems to have legs. Again, IMO, the only way he doesn’t end up on Bills practice squad or 53 is if he’s scooped up by another team.
  2. 1) Re Oliver "nowhere near a top 10 talent". Do yourself a favor and look at the data for 2018-2022. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2020/draft.htm. Oliver is a ++ starter, easily in the midrange of these draft picks. 2) Not sure how you say that Knox is more physically gifted than Kincaid. As far as i know, Kincaid didnt get a RAS score due to a late season injury. But watching the games, its pretty obvious that Kincaid is more talented at football than Knox.
  3. Maybe ima selling McSorely short.
  4. McSorely is an interesting thought. I think he could fill in for a couple games and do well, but that’s about it. Best Bills comp would be Flutie, but not quite as quick and lesser arm. His biggest shortcoming is size. DC would quickly realize he has trouble with intermediate middle routes because he has trouble seeing and identifying throwing lanes. Im guessing that’s why he hasn’t stuck with his prior teams. But for a couple games, he may do well.
  5. You're right, I'm confused. This entire discussion reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. "The failure is the construction of the WR room. You weren’t in position to add a prospect capable of losing reps to Mack Hollins this year. You needed to do better." So the failure isnt because Coleman is a failure, but because you needed to draft someone better than Coleman. But Coleman hasnt played a single snap of regulation NFL football. How do you know he wont be outstanding? What WR drafted between 20-50 is better than Coleman? You're entire argument is premised on Coleman not being successful. But how do you know that? Your eye test? Some other posters' eye test? But if your eye test is so wonderful, why arent you in an NFL front office? In essence, you guys are saying that you're smarter than Bill FO, based on, well, nothing. Meanwhile, I'm saying, ah, lets wait a few moments before we eviscerate the guys who have shown the most success at building a Bills team this century.
  6. The exact word he used was “failure”.
  7. C’mon dude, your stance doesn’t make any sense, and flys in the face of reality. Are all 32 1st round picks starting in game 1? And if they don’t, are they (the players and the GMs who picked them) all failures? Because that’s what you’re saying.
  8. FWIW, I’d take Shakir over Dotson right now. They’re similar players I think. Similar size, similar strengths. Dotson is faster and maybe a better deep ball tracker. Shakir is a better rote runner and separator and has more consistent hands.
  9. Ahh... Not exactly sure it would be crazy to play Dotson as Z and Smith in slot. Smith played about 1/3 of snaps in slot last year. Here's a couple data points. https://www.rotowire.com/football/player/devonta-smith-15406
  10. Having followed Hardy’s career in college, I think he’s a better CB than returner. He was PSU starting PR for only half the season, so I’m guessing the PSU staff thought the other guy was better. And Hardy did have 2 TDs but both against the UMass powerhouse. As a CB, Hardy is a dog. Really sticky without being grabby. Reminds me of Nikel Robey. Hardy is also a surprisingly good blitzer, had a few sacks as I recall.
  11. Ok. Agree to disagree. I think eagles will use Dotson mostly at Z and Davonte Smith as their slot. I guess we’ll see.
  12. Disagree. He’s best as a slot, but a much different player than Samuels. Dotson is a WR only, not a hybrid WR/RB. Dotson’s strengths are similar to Diggs or Shakir. Footwork, route running, hands, and ball tracking. I would have made this trade, and I’m not nearly as down in our existing WR group as some posters. I live in the DMV and follow the Commies. They’ve been a train wreck the past few years. Gotta at I’m surprised they gave up on him.
  13. I’m the opposite. I’m more interested in this season than the last two. I think that the team of the last 3 years. Diggs, Davis, Tre, Hyde and Poyer had peaked, thus the rebuild. There are fresh faces which may fail miserably, or may bring a Super Bowl to Buffalo. None of us know. Thus the excitement.
  14. Ah yeah, right. I forgot that rookies can’t get injured per new NFL bylaws. I think most people would take Coleman + MVS and Samuels over Coleman + two day 2-3 draft picks.
  15. It’s not really quite that simple. NFL WR run a bunch of choice or option routes, where a WR may be asked to run a flag route if the defense is in a cover 2, unless the CB I playing outside leverage. TheWR and the QB may interpret the same information differently. This is wher experience and multiple reps become important. im not sure why, but JA and Davis had a bunch of misreads last year. One let directly to OT loss at Eagles last year.

  17. Nah, I was thinking Deon Sanders. BTW, Nebraska scored 84 on U Minnesota? Yikes!
  18. Levy is the winningest coach in Bills history, and is in the NFL hall of fame. Dickerson was a jacka$$ and a clown. I used to listen to him on wgr on my drive home. He wanted “strong opinions, strongly held”. Never admit you’re wrong, never back down. Although he had a good deal of football knowledge, and could be a good teacher, his character flaws and thirst for vengeance made him his own worst enemy. A bit like another popular figure.
  19. Not sure that id be washing out Bishops season quite yet. I'm no expert on scapula fractures, and I dont know what portion of his scapula was fractured, but the observation that hes not even in a sling tells me its a non-displaced fracture. And 'm guessing that it will be almost healed by 6 weeks. Its not like a turf toe, or hamstring, or high ankle which might nag the entire season. I'm thinking hes good to go by game 1 or 2 . Lots of time to get into game shape. Its not a lost season.
  20. Is that the old Trico plant in the background ?
  21. Butler, Bill O Brien, and McDermott all went to La Salle high school in Philly suburbs. Butler was DB coach and then promoted to DC when OBrien was at PSU. Butler was widely disliked by players as he wouldn’t take responsibility for any errors and laid all errors at the players feet. Good riddance.
  22. Dude. Coot De Ivoire is a stripper, not a country.
  23. 3 drops in 4 throws for a player who had a 2.2% drop rate last year is a cause for concern. Not sure what’s changed, or whether it’s an “off night”, but it’s not something to blow off as irrelevant. it’s something to track and pay attention to.
  24. McGovern started all 13 games as center at PSU his sophomore year. Their OC refused to run plays from under center, so all he did was shotgun snap. I don’t recall any problems with his shotgun snaps. Althouh he only played a couple games at center for Dallas, I’m not worried about him relearning shotgun and under center snaps.
  25. PSU has a very good weight training program. He did 15 reps on bench press, broad jump of 10.9, and vertical of 42.5. These aren’t going to improve much. Hardy’s problem is size, and he’s not goin to grow. May gain 5-10 lbs, but won’t get taller. He’s very sticky in coverage. Reminds me of nickel Robey, but stronger. I’ll be surprised if he’s cut.
