  1. No question, I was just pointing out that the class has played well up until this point and has a lot of potential moving forward. Whether they fulfill that potential...we shall see.
  2. Must've been a minor mistake, he played a lot of snaps still and looked pretty good defending the run and he pushed his guy around a little to help move the pocket.
  3. That would be a home run if he turned out to be a Thomas-like player. He needs more playing time to play more consistently like that. Hopefully, they add some young linebackers next to him to help with his development. Three young fast linebackers would obviously be ideal. They drafted two later in the draft last year showing that they want to invest in the position. Would be exciting to see 3 youngsters flying around.
  4. This is the way i'm hoping it will go and Glenn can get back in there soon.
  5. Those are still mistakes that hurt field position which on a team that's strengths are running the ball and playing good defense can be costly in a game. We had some short fields yesterday which gave them a luxury but in the past three games we've started with poor field position and given our opponents short fields even just from punting. Mistakes like those need to be limited. He's done them throughout the season and cost our team potential points by getting sacked out of field goal range. Thank heavens for Hauschka. There's just too many missed opportunities with him. There are many other problems with the team no doubt. I'm not denying that but he just isn't going to take you anywhere. If we want to become a consistent contender, we have to get better QB play. Tyrod is the best we have for now but we need to get better. Being mediocre at the QB position for the past 15+ years is about enough for me. Let's not settle once we get a guy that's just okay. I'm not here to be just okay. I wanna win
  6. I like his size. We could finally have a tall QB who can see the entire field.
  7. While the numbers look good, he's got a lot of limiting qualities. Just like all of this year's class does. Doesn't mean they can'r be really good but gotta look past the productive numbers on schools that surround their QB with a lot of talent like James Washington.
  8. I'm sorry that after 17 years I refuse to accept mediocrity at the position again. We have a chance with all of the draft picks we have to get a 1st round QB. I think that is the way to go. And there were many more plays where Tyord looked like Tyrod. He had a few plays again where he held onto the ball for an eternity and took a sack. At least throw it away...but he just isn't a savvy enough QB to do the smart things. That incompletion was an embarrassing throw as well as the almost pick six duck toss to Charles Clay. Not just one play man...every week he has handfuls of plays that are just frustrating and limiting to an offense. Even with Dennison's poor play calling we should've had more than 16 points in that game. The opportunities were there but he just couldn't make them. Same old Tyrod. I'm done with the middling average QBs. They don't get you anywhere.
  9. That's because the national media doesn't pay attention to us. They just look at numbers and Tyrod's numbers aren't bad but if they actually watched him...they'd understand where all the fans want to bash their heads against the wall when he's playing.
  10. Everyone looks at how it goes poorly but what about when it goes well? Watson was thrust into the starting lineup and Houston got 10x better. Obviously they didn't have much at QB before that but still he played a lot better and that team took off for a few games before he got hurt. We only look at it resulting as a negative thing but there are examples of where it goes well too. I recall a Kaepernick replacing Smith in the playoffs for a San Fran team that ended up in the super bowl. The change injected some life into an offense that wasn't fulfilling there potential at the time. Just saying, there are instances where it works out for the better.
  11. I don't think it does. Shaq ended with 2 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles. Those don't look like backup numbers to me for a defensive end.
  12. Our rookies contributed nicely to the win yesterday in a close game. They weren't perfect and what rookies are but they seem to be improving which is all I can ask for out of the youngsters. Dawkins filled in at LT and seemed to do a pretty good job. He had the one holding call that was costly but other than that he looked pretty good on the left side of that line. If Glen continues to stay injured and Dawkins continues to improve, we would have an interesting debate at the LT spot. Hopefully the two can fill out the tackle positions moving forward. Zay Jones continues to learn and get better. He had a nice touchdown and seems to be Tyrod's go to receiver target now even though Tyrod throws to his running back and tight ends more. Will be a nice option for whoever is playing QB next year. Milano flashed another play. To me he's still not seeing enough playing time. There were a few passes over the middle where Lorax looked absolutely lost on and I found myself asking where Milano was. On his 5 yard loss, he showed why you need fast linebackers. He shot the gap and had the runningback tackled before he could even make a move. Hope his play continues to improve and his snap count goes up. Tre White. What else is there to say about the guy besides he's a flat out competitor? Makes a huge clutch play when KC was driving down the field to score the winning TD. More importantly for me, he did it in a must win game. He stepped up. With a better pass rush next year, I could see him breaking out for a few more interceptions and really cementing himself as a playmaker at the corner position. I saw four rookies that contributed in yesterday's win. That makes me excited for this offseason and to see what this regime can do with so many draft picks. I also want to say that Shaq Lawson seems to be playing much better this season. Even though his sack numbers aren't there yet, he has 30 tackles on the season which is pretty good for a DE through the games he's played. He's proven he can set the edge against the run. Once they get some better DT play which likely will be addressed this offseason, I think we could see Lawson have a breakout year next year. He's just been a step slow like in the Chargers game, he hit RIvers arm and caused the pop up throw that a receiver ended up catching near the line of scrimmage. With better interior line play, he will be just fine imo
  13. While I know he's the best option on the team, that fact reminds me of why we are an average team. Should have no part of the future here. There's a handful of passes every game that he doesn't make that could push him into the next level of QB but he consistently doesn't make them. Great bridge QB but nothing else imo
  14. He doesn't make the big plays to put teams away. Instead, he lets teams stick around. Could have put the nail in the coffin on that throw to O'leary. He doesn't lose us the game but he also doesn't win us the game. Hence he's an average QB Who else do you blame for making a lousy pass over the middle that could've put us in position to go up two scores? How about stop making excuses for Tyrod...he most certainly did not make most out of Dennison's playcalling. Almost got picked off on that duck of a throw to Charles Clay.
  15. Um, it was below his knees which lead him to the ground which was the only way he wouldn't getting into KC territory. I'm not gonna stand here and defend Tyrod for that garbage
  16. I agree that Dennison isn't good man. But i'm not gonna stand here and defend Tyrod for making possibly one of the easiest 40 yard passes he's ever had to make. He could've even lead him and thrown a floater like he did to Clay cuz there was NO ONE there. He just can't be anything more than average when it comes to crucial clutch plays. That play puts that game out of reach as it sets us up for at the very least, a fg. There are opportunities all over the field that he just can't make. Sorry I'm not backing Tyrod for his lack of ability to make the big play. The really good QBs make those throws. Why would they allow him to throw the ball on the last offensive drive we had when he shows to be that inaccurate in crucial plays like that? I'm not risking it
  17. No he didn't play well. He is average. He won't lose the game but he won't win it. He makes that O'leary pass, that game is over before all of that excitement at the end...Dennison doesn't help but he had his opportunities
  18. They gave up 10 points in the game...
  19. Oh I agree but this game would be in the win column already if Tyrod makes that pass. He won't lose us the game but he won't win it for us
  20. While yes the OC has had some questionable calls. This game would be out of reach if Tyrod makes a decent pass to O'leary...the blame goes around
  21. You really think we'd have gotten a 4th rounder after a season of being a 3rd stringer which is where he was by the end of camp?
  22. He was a 3rd string on our roster coming off of an ACL tear. Isn't a fast linebacker like McD likes. If he played here all year and stayed at the bottom of the depth chart we wouldn't have gotten a 4th for him...
  23. Again, they wanted the draft pick for the future. Not the guy who won't fit the scheme for the future...traded him while he had value...
  24. 3-4 linebacker, 4-3 scheme...pretty simple. Traded him before his value depleted
  25. Classic Tyrod to be sacked instead of throwing the ball away
