  1. Except this year we have a ton of picks to persuade people to trade. Even if we don't trade, we have a ton of picks to attempt to fill multiple holes on this team. In years past, we've had less than 7 picks in these types of situations. Not this year. Plus, we got a little pocket change for free agency. I absolutely hate when a fan says this regime will do just like the last 10 have. This one seems different doesn't it? They have made moves to set themselves up for the future unlike every other Bills regime has in the past. They dare to be better. I want to win now. Don't know about you but I'm tired of watching 4-6 win teams. QBs don't always workout, even the ones in the top 10. Blake Bortles, Matt Leinart, Vince Young, RG3, Joey Harrington...the list goes on and on. They all say hi. I'm not gonna tank the season and build a losing culture. That's just stupid and pathetic. I appreciate them wanting to win and setting ourselves up for the future at the same time like they said they were doing. I'd rather win 9 games and not make the playoffs than fall of the planet and suck. What free agents are gonna want to come to a 4 win team? What about a 9 win team? Again, I don't understand why we would intentionally lose when we have the chance to win 9 games and maybe that takes us to the playoffs. QBs are hard to find no doubt but saying that they are only found in the top few picks is just a lie. David Carr, Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Tom Brady...they also say hi. Stay where we are and take one. Fill in as many holes around him to give him the best chance to succeed and add some to the defense. That's where the luxury of multiple draft picks in the first few rounds comes in. No to tanking!! Yes to rebuilding
  2. Atrocious offensive line, injured weapons, no running back, a coach that doesn't look like he knows what he's doing, two super bowls wins with the lesser talented team and some historically clutch throws and catches in those games...to me this says otherwise. Tom Coughlin got the last laugh
  3. I think Star will be the target but Donari Poe and Haloti Ngata. Poe might be the best option on the market but could be too expensive. Ngata could be a backup plan if Star and Poe don't come here. They could also look at Vita Vea in the draft who is an enormous human being haha with first to second round talent. Should be interesting to see how they patch up the DT position
  4. EJ and Leonard just seem to fit the scheme perfectly and play well when they are healthy. EJ is only 25 and Leonard is only 27. White being only 21, Hyde only 26 and Poyer only 26 as well makes me excited for this group over the next few years if they all stay. They could have a really nice secondary soon if they add another corner to that young group.
  5. I think he needs to be resigned. Maybe the injury will give us a discount. This seems like the right type of system for him. Add another corner and keep Leonard Johnson as the 4th CB and we could be looking like a tough secondary. EJ looks great when he's in the game. Made a great tackle sunday on a screen play, he tackled the runner while being blocked at the line of scrimmage. Add in another safety for depth and we would be looking at names for the secondary...
  6. Even though he is smaller, he reminds me of Aaron Donald with his quick twitch ability to burst through the line in a second. Put him next to a fat boy and like they did in Carolina with Kawonn Short and Star Lotulelei.
  7. I don't think they want Tyrod there and they are sabotaging him by not changing the offense for him. I think they've already looked past him. They play the offense that they want to play so the team will get acquainted with it before next year. I'd probably do the same. Get the young QB to grow with a young rebuilding roster around him with veterans carpet bombed throughout. The rookie QB direction has a better chance of sustaining success long term.
  8. I don't think they are looking for a pass first offense but more of a balanced offense. They want the run game to be able to slow the game down at times. We absolutely need a guy that can sling it though. I'm tired of QBs that don't win you the game. If the defense doesn't play well...we don't win. Get a guy and fill in the holes around him this offseason and finally give a QB the best chance we can to succeed for once. Surround that guy with everything you can. We have the luxury of lots of cap space and draft picks this offseason to attempt to fill several holes on this team.
  9. Cover two defenses rely on our pass rush to let the secondary have a field day with QBs. In 2015, Carolina's defense had 4 players with at least 4 ints. We don't have the talent right now to get enough pass rush. I'm sure they will address it in the offseason. But when we had good games against David Carr, Matt Ryan and Cam Newton, we had at least a little pass rush that shut those offenses down. We just don't have the talent yet to do what he wants to do with the defense. I'm not focused on just one game, have to think about the potential to fix these problems this offseason with all of the cap space and draft picks we have. Hopefully they a good eye for players that fit what they are trying to do and so far, Hyde, Poyer and Tre White along with a few other players like Yarbrough have shown me that they might have a chance to repave this roster. Trust the process hoot hoot
  10. Stay where you are and draft a QB in the first. Fill in the holes around him like the offensive line, backup running back and add another speedy wide receiver. Then fill in some holes to sure up the defense and grab a couple of guys in FA. Give the rookie QB the best situation we can to make him as successful as possible. I'm tired of not helping out our QBs enough. Make this guy really comfortable with a better oline and a nice running game. We really could have enough draft picks and FA space to attempt to fill the majority of the holes on this team. If we come out with a nice draft this offseason...we could be a team that starts moving up in the AFC. Have us trending upward while a near future Tom Bradyless New England team will be trending down. Build the next AFCE division bully. Don't like trading up and losing those picks. Wouldn't do it for any of the QBs in this class. Really want to inject both our lines with draft picks and better talents. We have enough draft picks to get a QB and draft for both lines and the linebacker position. I hope they don't trade up. I think they will miss out on an opportunity to reset this roster at multiple positions with youth and McD type players. Can't wait to find out though. Not knowing who our QB will be next year is making me crazy haha
  11. Yet he's still 6-5 so far in his first year. He'll likely end up with 8-9 wins on the year. Whether that'll be enough to get a playoff spot...who knows. Either way, that's a pretty good first year especially with the lack of talent we have now and getting rid of guys who have been productive in the past but didn't seem to fit and trust the process. I can't stand here and blame McD for daring to be better than average at QB. We saw what Tyrod could do in this system for weeks and against the Saints he but up an embarrassing performance by a 3 year starting QB. Nobody knew what Peterman would do, he looked good until the Chargers game. I can't blame him for wanting to be a better team. Sure the defense **** the bed but that wouldn't stop the offense from scoring points too...but they didn't. It was not Tyrod or the defense. It was Tyrod and the defense. Neither played well. They are focused on winning now and in the future. They are 6-5, trying to make moves now to improve and they've set themselves up this offseason to repave the roster with McD players. Maybe I don't understand the negativity from the fans. They are looking down a lot of avenues to try to get better. Why not see if Peterman is better than Tyrod? So it didn't work, at least you tried to get better. He said he wasn't here to be an average team and I applaud him for making that move even if it could hurt him if it goes poorly. He would've looked like a genius if he played well and became the starter down the stretch of the season. I like that he dared to be better than average. Isn't that what we wanted? Be better than average. He'll have a lot of resources in the offseason to get better for next year. And if we get better next year, our 8-9 wins this year could be jumping up to 10-11. I think we are pretty close to a playoff team. I'm tired of switching coaches all the time. Seems like it's Cleveland and Buffalo who's been switching HCs every few years. That's not a great partner to have in a category. So yeah, I'm gonna trust the moves that they make. I've seen there point on every move so far. They are building a culture that doesn't involve ping pong and a bag of grass in the locker room. I think he's a good coach. His defense has been up and down this year but for part of the year, they were the top defense in the league in terms of giving up points. The talent he has on the defense doesn't match that rating. That tells me he's got a lot of potential to get the best out of his players on defense. That's why I'm in support. Maybe I'm just smoking too much of that Trust the Process in my pipe ... who knows
  12. Whoops haha. Meant to say without Watt next to him
  13. He's only played about 20 games. He continues to improve and had a strip sack against the Chargers. With better DTs next to him and a little more time to develop his own pass rush abilitites, he will be just fine. Most DEs take a little bit to get sacks. Clowney is a perfect example. A freak of nature but couldn't get the sacks right away. This year he has 9 sacks without Watt next to him. Shaq has 31 tackles in 10 games played this year...that's above average for DEs in this league. He's developing nicely.
  14. I don't buy it either but who knows where they decide to go. There are a lot of other guys in free agency. Another option is taking a guy like Sam Bradford or maybe Alex Smith becomes available. Better passers that can be a nice 1 year fill in but I highly doubt that happens. I think they will be looking to trade up in the draft. I just hope we don't lose all of the picks this year. We need young talent to fill some of the holes.
  15. They better LOVE anyone they trade up for. Hoping the guy they want falls to them so they don't have to trade up but that seems unlikely with where the picks are currently. I would love to attempt to fill the holes with young players. We have too many 30 somethings on the defense. We will see which direction they go
  16. Except Tyrod really doesn't fit the scheme. The scheme is quick passes that rely on timing. Tyrod plays his best when he can hold the ball and extend plays with his legs. They are opposite...
  17. That's the goal. A lot of people wanted to tank this season and we decided to try and win instead and being in the hunt with the talent we have, I'd say that's pretty good. Even if they miss the playoffs, they have given me promise. To take a slower, older defense and turn them into a reasonable defense gives me hope. The previous couple games have sucked but we've had some really solid games too. Can't wait to see what our defensive head coach and Leslie Frazer can do with a little more talent. I'm intrigued...that's for sure.
  18. Dennison doesn't know how to use Tyrod properly. Since Tyrod doesn't appear to be here anyway next year, maybe they give Dennison another opportunity with a QB that actually fits his scheme. Who knows?
  19. While he may be slightly better than them in our system, why settle for a QB that won't be able to play to his strengths in this system. We wouldn't know how to use him properly just like Dennison doesn't know how to use Tyrod now. Which is part of the problem on offense now. Tyrod is a player that needs the system to match his abilities and we haven't done that. I think they were afraid Watson would turn out to be the same. A former college coach like Bill O'reilly is the absolute perfect fit for him. McDermott clearly wants a pro-style offense, hence the Peterman pick. Not sure why it didn't quote your part instead of the other merged part
  20. Belicheck has stretches where his defense looks like garbage every year. Look at the first couple of games for New England...ugly. Good coaches can get their guys to rebound and turn it around before the season spirals. At the moment, we are 6-5. I'd say in his first year, that's pretty good with the lack of talent he has on the front 7 of our defense.
  21. Game COMB AST Sack SFTY FF 11/26 @ Chiefs 4 2 0.0 0 - 11/19 @ Chargers 4 0 1.0 0 1 11/12 vs Saints 4 1 0.0 0 - 11/2 @ Jets 3 2 0.0 0 - 10/22 vs Buccaneers 4 3 0.0 0 - 10/8 @ Bengals 2 2 0.0 0 - 9/24 vs Broncos 1 0 1.0 0 - 9/17 @ Panthers 6 4 1.0 0 - 9/10 vs Jets 3 1 0.0 0 - Regular Season 31 15 3.0 - Here is his statline for the games he's played this season. He is consistently making tackles around the line of scrimmage. He had a strip sack last week against the Chargers. He's progressing nicely.
  22. I don't think we've given him enough time to develop and some have already written him off. He is a guy that looks like he fits the scheme well, he just needs a little time. He's only played about 19 games or somthing like that. He's got 31 tackles this year so far and 3 sacks. He was never drafted to have double digit sacks year in and year out. He's a run stopper first and foremost and all the scouts new that when they pegged him. He seems to be progressing nicely. How many DEs come into the league and immediately dominate and put up ridiculous sack numbers? I don't see many. Even Jadaveon Clowney took a little bit to develop but now after some patience...he's got 9 sacks this year. Little too early to label the guy a bust. I think his potential is a guy who will have 50-60 tackles, most coming against the run and 6-10 sacks. That'd be a solid pick. Just let the kid develop. He's on pace for 45 tackles on the year and 4.5 sacks on the year...next year if he continues to improve and gets more talent next to him, he could end up in that 50-60 tackle range with around 5-8 sacks. Why are we trying to run him out of town? Nobody knows if Watson would have been any good here. He runs a college system with a former college coach in Houston...we don't have either of those. Taking a player, especially a rookie and saying they'd be good here when their situation is completely different is a reach. He could've been great, who knows but I'm just pointing out it could've been a situation where he was a square peg trying to fit into a round hole here. We just don't know how the fit would work. Other QBs are easier to say that about but Watson is certainly a special case.
  23. They have to protect their careers. The draft process is an enormous one. Sitting out of the combine with an injury can cost a prospect a lot of money. I don't blame them for missing one game to help set themselves up. Now if the player isn't hurt, then questions may arise but with an injury it's just smart thinking by them.
  24. I was thoroughly impressed by the D. We all talk about the offensive coordinators but these defensive coordinators have done a better job so far. They had a rough couple of performances but they've dominated in games as well. Props to Frazier
  25. I disagree with you. I think he broke some minor team rule that caused him to come off the bench but he played a lot of minutes. He's been a part of the rotation at defensive end this year and I think he's been pretty darn good. 31 tackles though 10 games this year as a DE, that's pretty good. He seems to be our best run stopper. He hasn't gotten the sacks just yet but he's a big reason the team has had a few games of stuffing the run. He will only improve if the DTs are upgraded next to him in the offseason. He's developing. I expect his sack numbers to jump up next year. Most run stopping DEs take a few years to develop an arsenal of moves to increase their sack numbers. For me, he's on pace. He sets a very nice edge in the run game and showed this against the speedy chiefs. He had 2 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles, for a defensive lineman that's a good day. He helped move the pocket in the game causing Alex Smith to move out of the pocket and in some cases take off and run. He'll get there with the sacks. We just need some help at DT to provide an interior pass rush which will help out the outside ends. He's doing just fine.
