Apparently the offense is holding Tyrod back
The Now Moment replied to Gavin in Va Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well we got new guys running the show...we will see. Whoever they get at QB, I hope they surround the guy with talent. Give him the best chance to succeed. -

Just watch him...that's all you need to do to know he's a hall of famer... Got more super bowls than we do doesn't he... -
Apparently the offense is holding Tyrod back

I've gone back and forth between completely changing the offense for Tyrod, who clearly won't be there next year. If I'm a new coach, I don't know if I can do that. You'd be having all your other guys who will be on the team next learn a new scheme again. That can be a setback for some. I guess I just get where they are coming from. -

Didn't know you were only talking the top notch of top notch Hall of Famers. I consider Brees, Big Ben, Wilson easily in that top tier. Brees has the most 5,000 yards passing and has had some of the highest scoring offenses along with Big Ben. Wilson has the clutch gene in his DNA and has already been in two super bowls. They all have won super bowls and been to the playoffs several times in their careers. I'll take any of those guys any second of the week. If you are only looking for Rodgers or Brady...good luck. However, there are many other guys that are huge upgrades to Tyrod in this league but aren't in that category. Tyrod is average. I think any one of us would take a guy like Matt Ryan, Big Ben, Russell Wilson, Brees any day of the week. Leaving out some hall of famers in your list of transcendent QBs...I don't think we are gonna agree... -

Except there are more than two. If you just consider age knocking some out, that knocks out a lot that have been around the league for a while. Drew Brees, Big Ben, Russell Wilson...there's a plenty of QBs that have been transcendent for their offenses and making the entire offense better. Some of those guys are easy hall of famers...there have been more than two in this league for a while. The next round of young QBs are ready to take over. Why not get in on one of those? -

Wow. Yep that's better than half of the league. That's also not better than the other half...that's the definition of middle of the pack... Big Ben, Rodgers, Brady, Wilson absolutely makes everyone on the offense better, Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz could end up here if he continues to play at the level he's been playing, Andrew Luck when healthy, Drew Brees...the list goes on man. I still consider Tyrod behind Cam, Rivers, Sam Bradford when he was healthy, Jameis Winston...I could keep going but I'm tired. I'm done with being average. We tried it...hasn't worked. Let's be great. -

No no no no no no. He didn't lead a top ten offense. Shady Mccoy did. Do not mix that up. Shady was the MVP of the offense by a clear mile last year. Tyrod was still steady at middle to lower end in passing offense and only 23 total touchdowns...23!! In what galaxy is that better than average. Just because he's better than every QB we've had since the 90s doesn't mean he's better than average. He may not turn the ball over but he also doesn't punch it in the end zone that often either. 24, 23 and 15 combined touchdowns in his time here. That's not gonna cut it -

Woah. We don't need a transcendent QB which it is arguable to say there is a few more than two in this league. Not the point though. Tyrod is not a top 15 QB. He may have some nice stats that say so but he limits the offense as much as he helps it out with his running ability. He's middle of the pack. Do we dare to be better? For once, do we dare to be better than average? -

They don't fit each other...therefore...they both hold each other back. It's not that hard to figure out. Tyrod won't play as well because he needs a specific scheme to be successful. The offense is hurt by him being a poor timing passer. That has never been my argument. At his best even in last year's system which was tailored to some of his strengths...he's just not good enough and he shows it on a handful of plays every game that could take our offense to the next level but he just can't do it. If I were them, I wouldn't compromise their system so one guy who most likely isn't gonna be there will fit perfectly. We'd have to completely change the offense for Tyrod. The new coaches don't think he's good enough. What has he done to prove he's anything better than average in his almost 3 years of starting?? Nothing...nothing is the right answer. I used to be a Tyrod supported until he showed he couldn't get better at his short timing passes. He's just not good enough. I'm not defending either Dennison or Tyrod. In my opinion, both need to go. -
It's simple: Win this week and we are IN

I just want to make it interesting in the game. Make somebody other than Brady beat us. I'm tired of not coming out and playing as best we can against those guys -
Bills miss Post Season and ruin draft status.

Well sometimes that's just not an option. This year they have the picks to do that. However, elite QBs aren't a regular thing -
So Taylor can and does audible its confirmed...

I've heard a ton of people be upset over that play call. Maybe I just think differently but Shady is not a power back in any regard. He is a guy that needs space to make his plays. That's why he is successful when we pull guards and run outside. Isn't pitching it to him in space giving him a good chance to use the talents he has? Running up the middle doesn't seem smart to me with a back like shady. We don't have a power back healthy on the roster right now...I guess I don't understand. It didn't work...okay. At least we attempted to give our best playmaker the ball in space to do what he does best. Help me understand -
Where, Oh Where is Richard Sherman???!!????

That could be their best option for immediate and long term success Agreed. The Jags are a team to watch this offseason. Could be making some interesting moves to vault them to the top of the AFC -
Zay Jones looks like he will develop into a really solid option to me. That is, if he has a QB that can hit his timing routes. Benjamin will have less yards but important ones as he can be a red zone monster. Add a speedster that can stretch the field to that and I think the position would be set. This regime completely redid that position in one offseason...same with the secondary. Wonder what groups they will focus on next?

Not sure, if they bring in a young talented QB who turns out to be really good...imagine the success they could have in the next decade with the young talents they have on that team around the QB. I think they might want the long term success over the short -

The Jags are a team that's close. I wouldn't be shocked to see them trade for a QB or trade up in the draft. They don't need much besides QB. -

Seems to be a lot of veteran QBs available this year. I think they'd even roll the dice on Sam Bradford after he gets healthy again...who knows -

That's what boggles my mind. Such a lack of help given to him. One guy...one! But I'm sure ol' Tommy would more than welcome him back. -

Obviously that's what will happen but I guess I missed the part where they helped Eli. They have drafted terrible offensive lineman and haven't had a running back in years. He's gets kicked out for being 2-9 when the offense is garbage around him. It needs to be done due to his age but that's a pathetic attempt to help your two time super bowl winning QB leading up to this point. The drops his receivers have had the past few years and they are blatant...it's atrocious. If I were him, I'd be frustrated too. The Giants front office seems to be questionable to me. That's why I don't understand. After Odell, who are his weapons... -

The Now Moment replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That'd be bold but I just didn't feel that they truly gave him a chance to succeed. His weapons are hurt and when was the last time he had a running back or offensive line worth anything? They'll probably look for his replacement, the situation leading up to that just feels so mismanaged -

The Now Moment replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you for hitting my point. Why bench a player who has proven to be clutch when the front office hasn't provided him with any offensive line or guys that know how to run or catch the ball for that matter. The drops from that team is embarrassing. The guy has been a part of two super bowls and he's the one that's getting blamed?? Just not logical to me. If he didn't have that success, no problem but two super bowls...that's just a tough one for me to understand -

Again I'll say, you saw it from your Patriots goggles and I saw it as an unbiased party on the coach eating some delicious chicken wing dip. While the Giants defense played well, Eli still had some huge plays to make not only in that game but over the course of the weeks prior that. As for the second super bowl, the Giants were 9-7 and barely made the postseason...yet with some clutch play beat the Pats. -

You really think they'd have been in the super bowl without him? I seriously doubt that. I watched him make some fantastic throws in that game and his hail mary to Tyree started with him showing some amazing escapability and awareness. Don't think it was luck. He gave his guy a chance to make a great play and he did. If he sucked, they wouldn't even have been in that position. They were underdogs every step of the way that year and Eli answered the bell. This is coming from someone who isn't biased to those games mister Pats fan...He has shown to be an incredibly clutch QB throughout his career when it comes to playoffs and super bowls. My point is, you're going to tell me he deserves to sit on the bench behind Geno Smith? That's absolute garbage. So disrespectful to their franchise QB who has helped give them two super bowls. Embarrassing really.
