  1. I'd agree with this if Tyrod was coming back. He's not. Why make the rest of the team wait another year to learn a new system because one guy doesn't know how to throw a football without holding onto it for 7 seconds? I'm not just looking at one player here. The entire team is affected when you do something like this, especially the young players on the team. I don't want to have to change the scheme next year when Tyrod's gone and potentially hurt the young players development. Constantly switching schemes needs to stop. They just decided to do it this past offseason instead of next year to try and speed things up. Tyrod doesn't get it but Zay Jones has seemed to pick it up and Dawkins...those are their guys. They don't want to hurt their development by appeasing Tyrod's plentiful needs and changing the scheme. So they punted away a year on offense where we wouldn't have been much better even if we played to his strengths. If you are gonna change anyway and get rid of Tyrod, does it make sense to create the offense he needs and make everybody else wait a year? To me it doesn't. Maybe I just look at things differently. Tyrod isn't their guy. They absolutely will do this when they get their QB but not with Tyrod. It just doesn't make sense if you are looking for long term success
  2. Woods was gone in March and Beane didn't arrive until May... To you those players aren't equivalent because they don't matchup to Tyrod's needs as a QB. Both Mathews and Benjamin have had 1,000 yard seasons or pretty close to it. And the Goodwin part of this just makes me laugh. They have had injuries no doubt but to say they are a joke...I'm done with this conversation because there is no chance we will remotely come close to agreeing on anything or having a decent chat about it. Just a waste of time at this point. Good day
  3. I think he thinks he has shown it up to this point. I agree with you but I also think he has proven his abilities. Even if he gets roasted sunday, he seems like the type of guy that will get the most out of that experience and learn from the tape. We need more guys like him
  4. Just seems more logical all the way around IMO. He was very good when healthy in Minnesota.
  5. Once the coaching staff establishes their culture and cements it into the roster, I expect them to take on some of these types of guys. Have guys in the locker room that can help out this type of guy.
  6. I don't think they are...I'm not changing the offense for one guy that's not gonna be here. They are giving him an opportunity to win in their system so he can stay, he's just not good enough. You don't change the offense to go around one average player. I actually don't want Buffalo to trade up but take a guy where they are and fill in the holes around with the other picks. There's not one worth trading up for in this class IMO. If we trade up, I hope we keep most of our picks this year.
  7. Why would they keep a QB they inherited from a failed regime that relied mostly on their top running game to put up points? And Lynn technically was fired too. Otherwise he'd be here
  8. True...I will always have questions with him until he plays on the big stage. I'm hoping he doesn't waste his talent though.
  9. His character issues and height disadvantage make me hesitant but if they feel like he can overcome that stuff...I'm all aboard.
  10. I've not been a Mayfield guy from the start but the more I watch him...the more he surprises me. His height is obviously a giant question mark that at first I wasn't able to overlook. Not even being 6 foot makes me nervous to say the least. However, Mayfield has a left tackle that is 6'8" in Brown. That's difficult to disregard. He's been very productive and shows a passion for the game that I love to watch. But...then his antics come into play. Not what any team is looking for in that regard. Johnny Man, Jameis Winston and Cam Newton all come to mind when thinking about his antics. While Cam and Jameis are still good players...they aren't the leader that I want for my team. If we draft him...I'll hold my breath but he could turn out to be great too.
  11. Philly just did it haha. They were halfway decent the entire time as well and traded up for their QB. Now they are sitting at 10 wins before decemeber... Of course their is no proof but if you don't try to find a young QB for the long term...you aren't even giving yourself a chance. Again, I am excited that we are actually daring to be better than...if twenty things happen in the last 3 weeks of the season we will be in...
  12. You sound like you want a spread offense like they play in college...that is far from what we have. The blocking schemes do change and the running back would be receiving the handoff further into the backfield. Again, I'm not changing the entire offense for Tyrod, who isn't going to be here next year. If Tyrod was a good QB, he'd be able to throw quick timing passes. He's yet to improve enough. I look at the moves they make from a future standpoint and a now standpoint. The future outweighs the now for me. I'd rather have great long term success over short barely scraping into the playoffs success. That's the reason I didn't mind them putting in Peterman. Tyrod hasn't been good enough in his entire career for me. We didn't know what Peterman could do yet. Unfortunately, it didn't work. At least we dared to be better than average at the position though. I'm tired of the conservative settling for a travelling QB who is average approach.
  13. Why would a head coach come in and run the same offense and same defense as the last HC who was fired? Clearly something isn't working if you get fired. He traded away one weapon and Sammy was going into the final year of his contract most likely to leave in free agency like Woods did. This regime brought in two young veterans who have had 1,000 yard seasons or close to it in the past to accompany the 2nd round rookie in Zay Jones who is gradually improving as the year goes on. The new blocking scheme is what they are going to run moving forward. Don't switch to it next year so the young guys will have to learn yet another system. They have a winning record going into December. Does that sound like they are trying to lose as many games as possible? The coaching staff is gonna do things their way, just like all the other coaches in the NFL do. This regime is less than a year in...
  14. I watch more football than I probably should. I rewatch Bills games on youtube late at night just for fun. I also get my fair share of college football as I am in love with watching college prospects blossom into great players in the NFL. Tyrod needs a college scheme where he can be in shotgun the entire time...the coaching staff doesn't want to change the offense for one player who isn't gonna be here next year. I don't blame them
  15. That is changing the whole offense to more of a college style man. That's a college system, not an NFL system. That's what he needs is a college system... Really? He Traded Watkins and added Mathews and Benjamin. I think that's adding more weapons than he's taken away. Plus, they have Zay Jones. And you can add some this offseason for whoever is QB next year. One guy on the offense got traded that was a starter...They added three new wideouts in less than a full year...I must be seeing something different man. Watkins probably wasn't coming back next year...so we actually got something for him instead of letting him walk. I know it's different than the previous regimes we've had but it just might help the rebuilding process
  16. Yessir! I'm never gonna get better at something if I don't try...Same goes for this front office. I hope they take a calculated chance and see some return on it so we don't have to question our QB for a while. Nope, I don't fall into that category. The QB has questions, the OC has questions, backup running back, a putrid oline at times, The lack of pass rush and run defense in some games has been mind-numbing. That doesn't mean Tyrod doesn't take part of the blame though. He was average to me the last two years when they shaped the offense around him better. I'd rather this regime grab their own guy and not rely on Rex's guy.
  17. I would like his end of the game speeches on DVD please
  18. I'm just not the conservative type. I like taking chances to try to get better. Average isn't gonna cut it. Every position can always get better. Having the mentality that we are good enough at positions that we aren't great at just hurts my head. You've got to dare to be better and not get caught up in the instant gratification. I'm looking for long term dominant success, not a first round knockout for a few years and then we have to reset. I wanna be the next Pittsburgh, New England who have just dominated their divisions and have been in the playoffs almost every year for too long to count. That's what I'm going for. Not this average BS where we barely scrape in
  19. At the very least, he will learn a lot from the tape of this game. I hope he plays well though
  20. That's where I've struggled. Obviously, they aren't shaping the offense to him and he's being restricted by it but at the same time we'd have to completely switch the offense. If they stick with the offense, it'll help young players with some consistency. Otherwise, it could cause harm to their development. That's the problem I have with this.
  21. I've got no problem with that. I just think we need a young QB to grow with young weapons for a change. Tired of the travelling QBs like Tyrod and Fitz.
  22. It's refreshing to me to see young players challenge these vets like this. No offense to them, he's just confident in his abilities. That's what I want in a young guy...and one that can back it up too
  23. Haha you're underestimating the wrong guy. I watch too much football haha. Brees offense was not the problem in those years and you know it. The defenses there have been bottom 5 in the league every year. The whole point was...there are guys that have been much better than Tyrod in the last few years. It doesn't matter that the players are older now...the next young group of great QBs is coming...I wanna be on that train, not stuck on a travelling QB that hasn't been better than average.
  24. I didn't give Mccoy all the credit, I was just correcting him saying that Mccoy led the team. If Mccoy didn't play well, we lost. Did I say that it was all Tyrod's fault this year? Nope. He just needed so much help last year to be average and hasn't been able to look decent in certain games where either the defense or running game doesn't click. He's not good enough to overcome a bad day by other parts of the team. Hence, he's average. I used to be a Tyrod til I die guy but just hasn't improved enough in his passing abilities to keep him anymore. I'm tired of finding the travelling QBs that bounce from team to team and are only bridge players. It's time to draft one.
