  1. Haha sorry I instantly thought of Nick Chubb for some reason. I just disagree that Chubb is a better player than him. I love Chubb but Barkley can help fix that horrible offense that they had. If Luck comes back and that's a big if this year, they would have a difficult to defend combination on offense. With an offensive coach stepping in as HC and how bad they looked last year not just on defense but on offense too...I think they'd have to go with Barkley at 3. Even with the depth at the position in the draft, Barkley is another level.
  2. Do they not both play running back?
  3. Cadet looked really good at times. Hope he stays.
  4. I just think the plan is to fix this running game and get a really big back to play off of Mccoy. I don't see a need to have a FB on this team. We have athletic lineman that can pull if they want to give the back a lead blocker. I'd rather use the roster spot for depth elsewhere.
  5. I think him and Tim Settle will leave the scouts drooling from workouts.
  6. I'd rather eliminate the FB spot all together. If you want a lead blocker on goal line play then use another offensive lineman that has movement skills. Don't waste it on this guy. I'd rather use that roster spot somewhere else. A big back would be needed still for a more balanced run game but I don't see the need for a FB.
  7. Wouldn't it make sense for Indy to take him if he falls to them? They could have a star runningback take over the reins until Luck gets healthy and then have quite the offense. I don't think he'd make it past Indy.
  8. I sincerely believe you will see the same thing happen this year except at different positions like DT, interior OL and RB. The talent is just at different positions.
  9. There's always diamonds in the rough though. I think this secondary class is underrated and I see a few studs coming out of the tight end class. I think it's better than weak JMO
  10. I disagree with the tackle spot. The tackle spot has depth in my opinion, maybe not a lot of top 10 guys but plenty in the 2nd to 3rd round area. The edge on defense doesn't have a ton of talent but it does have potential. The interior lines in this class is what I was talking about. There are a plethora of guys on both sides of the ball both early and late in this class.
  11. The talent isn't in the flashy players this year. It's in the trenches and the RBs and QBs. For some reason, we are in an age where the trenches are overlooked and flashy players get all of the attention. Gotta have the big boys up front. Not a bad class at all IMO
  12. I disagree that it isn't a good class. Some areas have a lot of talent. DT has a lot of talent, RB, QB, interior OL, a lot of linebackers in the second to third round...I think this class has more talent in different areas. It doesn't have a lot of talent in the flashy positions like WR and CB. This is more of a trenches draft IMO.
  13. If anyone is Ryan Leaf in this class it's Rosen. Leaf had personality issues and that's the downfall for Rosen not Allen.
  14. When you get a rookie QB, go BPA on offense or he will struggle. We have too many holes on offense to go BPA IMO. Give the guy the best chance to succeed. If we get a QB, it'd be a mistake to not load up on offense. Set the young man up to succeed.
  15. I don't think Daboll has a set offense where you fit the QB into it. They stated they wanted the coaching staff to be able to coach to any player's abilities. That being said, I think we'd take Rudolph but by no means would I be playing him the first season. He needs to sit and learn and take reps under center in practice to familiarize himself more with an NFL system. I think he'd struggle mightily if we through him into the fire and if he played poorly, I can't imagine what the fans would do. Peterman got one game. What would Rudolph get if he didn't play well? Set the kid up for success and let him sit and learn and get his action in practice.
  16. Why are we getting a QB in all of these scenarios and in most of them avoiding assets to surround the QB with? No wide receivers??? I think you that is too much defense for my taste in a year where we are expected to get a QB. Getting a QB and then avoiding the other needs on offense is setting the QB up for failure.
  17. The mistake in this will be if we get the QB and don't use our other resources to fill in the gaps on offense. Set this QB up for success by getting offensive lineman, a wide receiver and another running back. If you are going to spend a ton of draft picks on getting the guy, you best be doing everything in your power to surround that guy with talent and give him the best opportunity to be successful. It'd be a great disservice in my opinion to trade up for the QB and then go after defensive guys while leaving gaping holes on the offense. I know the defense needs work but look at what Philly did with Carson Wentz...surrounded him with talents and he eased right in to success. I repeat, if you are going to invest in the QB, really invest in him.
  18. Again, I think this is the year we get a QB but look at the history of drafting QBs. It doesn't matter who has been doing it for longer. BTW some of the players have already been doing it for a few years in next year's class and some have had better results than some of the guys in this class when they were that age. This class has potential just like any other class. Let's not make them hall of famers before they've even hit the NFL field once.
  19. I'm not saying the class is as good because I can't yet. The players this year had a solid year and got better. Next year's class can have a great year and improve too. It's just way too soon to say anything about next year's class when you don't even know who will be apart of it. Again, I'm all for taking a QB this year but we have no clue what next year's QB prospects will look like at this time. One year is a long time for an athlete to improve and scouts will learn more about them.
  20. I am all for getting a QB this year but next year certainly has some solid players who could breakout. Eason could step into the limelight out of Fromm's shadow with his new squad, Drew Lock could showout as the next gunslinger, Shea Patterson could also jump out for Michigan, Nick Fitzgerald is an interesting option, Clayton Thorson and Ryan Finley could improve as well. Don't judge a class so far out that you don't really know who is in the mix.
  21. Rosen had a 59 percent completion percentage last year and a 62.6 this year. Darnold had a 63 percent completion percentage and had a lot of turnovers. Mayfield had a much higher completion percentage but played in an offensive style that makes it easier on the QB to complete passes. Stats stats stats...some fans have watched 2 games on the kid and already have written him off. I just find that lazy.
  22. The most important thing about the top 4 QBs in my opinion is their work ethic. They all have seen the 1st spot from different analysts but who is gonna be the first guy in the building and the last to leave. If I've learned one thing in my football watching days it's that sometimes a prospect can simply outwork everyone else. Tom Brady looked like garbage before the draft. Work ethic. A ton of talent doesn't get you anywhere without work ethic and he didn't even have a ton of talent. Personally, I'm a fan of Josh Allen who wasn't handed a huge scholarship by a big school. He had to earn his right to be in this conversation (not saying others didn't but he's had an uphill climb). He'll get a ton of flack from people who just stare at stats to come to a conclusion. I hope the kid does well wherever he goes.
  23. He definitely wants to see what his value is on the market. Why would he sign with us without getting a feel from everyone else in the league when he's only been here 1 year? Personally, I wouldn't sign him to a 8-9 million dollar deal without an opt-out clause or some kind of injury clause. It's a business. You have to take some risks and have some certainties to bank on as well IMO. We will see what they do with him.
  24. It's a business both on the team's side and the player's side. They have to want to be here too. If you do pay him, I'd be expecting many injury clauses. I would hate to sign him and have him watch from the sideline. It's a wait and see right now.
  25. He's mostly a question mark at this point due to his lack of carries. Makes me wonder if he has work ethic problems or other things that would have made him take less carries. Then again, Harris was a solid back. I'm sure Daboll will have input. It'll be interesting to see what type of running back they go for. There is every kind of back you can ever want in this class.
