  1. I like how fans talk about the offense as if they know how it will produce in a new scheme, with new coaches, a new QB and a reshaped roster. We don't know what will happen. Heard the same grumbling last year about our safety position with Hyde and Poyer...surprise! It became one of the strongest units in the league.
  2. I like our veterans and our coaching staff in the secondary, I think these players will become assets in the secondary eventually. They seem to both have high character and a willingness to play wherever coach needs them to play. I love guys like that. They don't care about stats or being in the limelight, they are there to do what the team needs them to do.
  3. Thought trading up for Wentz was a mistake...Philly quickly proved they were right haha. It's all about fit on the team IMO. I think any QB can be molded if they have the right attitude and work ethic and I think Allen has that.
  4. This is a ridiculous suggestion in my opinion. He doesn't fit here at all. I'd much rather give Mccarron a shot. We need less selfish/uncaring players, not more.
  5. I stated earlier that he needed to hold onto the ball to have a chance to make a play because none of his receivers could get open otherwise. He needed to hold on to the ball because of the talent he had. I believe that changes when he joins the Bills and he actually has players that can make a play. I believe we have better weapons than people give us credit for. Benjamin, Clay and Mccoy are nice targets to have when healthy. Certainly a lot of other players can step up this year with a fresh arm at QB.
  6. I honestly believe he made those plays because he knew the team was horrible around him. Once he gets around more talent that doesn't need him to do everything on offense, he will limit those types of plays. He won't be constantly leaned on to make something out of nothing all the time.
  7. I honestly believe that once he's not relied on to be the entire offense, he will clean up some of those "bad" plays that he tried to make something out of nothing. He may need some time to sit, we will see what he does in camp but it is hard to blame him for what he tried to do to carry that horrible team on his back.
  8. He was the only one on the team that could make a play. He made huge plays all year by not throwing it away and throwing it down the field. The offensive line was horrid.
  9. Cool man, I like to be more open-minded and not say someone can't do something. Have a good one.
  10. I refuse to say something will "never" happen. Sorry if that upsets you but I think if a woman really wanted to play, they could do it.
  11. Who says they have to be that big? Darren Sproles is 5'6" 190. There are small players all over the league. Tarik Cohen for the Bears is 5'6" 179. I'm not saying it's likely but I'm also not saying it's impossible. It just hasn't happened yet.
  12. I don't blame any athlete from walking away from football. Seeing how many people have died and gotten life injuries from it, I respect the decision. There are many other ways to make a lot of money.
  13. I'm not talking about this individual woman. Women have run a 4.3 40 in the past and some are very strong. I don't think it would ever happen but I wouldn't be surprised. There are some exceptional female athletes out there in today's world.
  14. You are denying that there are exceptional female athletes that are better than average male athletes? There are certainly faster females than the average male athlete and there are certainly stronger ones too. Don't be so pessimistic.
  15. Maybe he doesn't want to put his body through the beating. I don't understand what your problem is...
  16. On average, I'd agree with you. However, there are some exceptional outlier athletes that certainly could compete.
  17. The scheme is different and a lot of players on offense are different. Poyer and Hyde were thought of as an overpaid weak safety group. We don't know how these players will play in a new scheme, under a new offensive coordinator and a new starting QB. Players can step up. Look at what Marquise Goodwin did last year in San Fran. A different scheme and team helped him. Complain all you want but nobody knows how this offense will be this year.
  18. They also haven't had a QB worth much in the pass game.
  19. I completely and respectfully disagree with this. Jackson was never regarded as a top ten pick. He is a raw passer. He is a great athlete but at the QB position, you need to be more than that. He's a project and I think every team knew that. I thought he went about where he should have gone. After the early run of QBs, there was some great talent on the board that was too good to take him over. I thought he went in the range he should have gone.
  20. I think he brings the ultimate versatility for a linebacker. He can rush the passer, drop into coverage and play the run really well. I just want him to develop a mean streak and watch him lead this defense. This team has a great chess piece now in the middle. Very excited about the next few years.
  21. Of course not every team would choose the same players. Need and team fit come into play here. Mayfield has the type of swagger that John Dorsey likes and thinks fits what they are trying to do. It's the same reason why Buffalo took Allen over Rosen, it was a better fit for this team and what this coaching staff is trying to do.
  22. It's understandable to think we will take a step back from last year but the scheme/philosophy has changed as well as the players. We have no idea what will happen up front next year. You can point to past performances all you want to say they will be bad but what happened to Poyer and Hyde last year when they joined a different scheme? I remember the grumbling over how we had the worst safeties in the league and yet...they became one of the best in a different scheme. It's not as cut and dry as fans make it. We will see how the group plays together.
  23. Agreed, rebuilding takes time and I see it taking 2-3 year before these teams truly become contenders if they continue the upward trend. I'm excited.
  24. We have a very solid run game though and that is what this team is, a run first team. So many on here compare this team to other teams that pass the ball way more than us and compare the weapons. We win by strong defense and a solid run game with a few plays here and there from the QB. Once Allen develops, I think they expect and hope that will change but we have a roster that doesn't need the QB to win every game for us. Last year was evidence of that. I don't know what our record will be this year with such a big roster turnover again but I'm not going to go against this coaching staff who proved so many wrong last season.
