  1. It's funny, it's a passing league and yet running teams with solid defenses always seem to make deep runs into the playoffs and appear in super bowls all the time too.
  2. And releasing all of them would be stupid during the season. Bring in competition for sure but don't just go releasing people because they haven't produced yet. That's just looking at the stat column. Zay Jones has been producing some nice routes on the field. Players can improve...
  3. Just saying there is no reason to call him crap without even giving the guy a chance. Ok Now that's just being ridiculous. WR is much harder to learn the playbook with all of the different routes. Releasing everyone we have would be beyond stupid.
  4. Stats don't mean anything. How he plays the game on the field is what matters, not the stat sheet. Look at the tape.
  5. Sometimes a new team is just what a player needs. Jordan Phillips was feeling the new atmosphere here. Sometimes just that difference in atmosphere is all it takes for a player to turn it up. Who knows?
  6. Nobody knows jack about the guy haha. Waiver picks can certainly turn into solid players. If it flops, at least they tried. Due diligence.
  7. Everyone seems to hate the signing and releasing of players throughout the year but I don't understand why. We picked up Ryan Lewis and Jordan Phillips off of waivers and they've made a difference on the field. Signing and releasing players is a great way to practice evaluating talent that comes with very little risk. See what works, throw a bunch of players at the wall and see who sticks. Depth is important whether you think so or not. And who is the great receiver out there that you want?
  8. Stats aren't everything. Numbers can lie.
  9. I doubt it happens but some offers can be hard to pass up as well. We will see if anything shakes out.
  10. I hope so too. They have added some nice depth with in-season pick ups on defense. Phillips and Lewis have fit in like a glove. The defense is clicking on all three levels. Impressive for the roster turnover on that side of the ball this past offseason. A lot of new faces have shined in McDermott's defense. Rookies, free agents and players that were already on the team. Hughes is playing some of the best ball of his career so far this season. He's been the poor man's von miller he was a few years ago. Kyle is still getting in on the action and he looks like the guy who plays santa at the mall. Everything seems to be working. I have to credit the coaching staff. McDermott knows what he wants on in his defensive players and seems to be picking them out of the sky and putting them into place. It's pretty impressive so far. I mean, a 5th round pick, a fourth round pick and waiver pick ups are making differences on the field. Hard to hit on all of that in the time that they've been here. Hopefully the solid play on that side of the ball continues.
  11. If Marcus Murphy is someone they are confident could step into a much bigger role and be productive than yes. Otherwise, they've been coasting on Shady being the only big weapon on offense for the rookie Allen, taking him away would put it all on Allen. Not something I'd role the dice on.
  12. I think the second CB will be very high on McDermott's offseason need list.
  13. Perfect player for a rotation. Has a great size and speed combination. He can make plays in spurts and take his rest as needed. He is now a very interesting story the rest of the way for me. But how does he move that fast being that size? Can't teach that.
  14. I watch the games not the stat lines. Fire X for his stat line this week!
  15. Rex talked about building a bully but McDermott is actually doing it! We are a tough team. We don't get pushed around anymore, we are the pushers. Teller fits the mold if he can develop. ^
  16. I'm calling a hit already on the 5th pick last year with Milano and Johnson looks good as a 4th this year. Defense has been dominant of late and we have 1st and second year players all over the field. Very encouraging.
  17. Seeing young players take on such big roles already on this team is exciting. The first year and second year players on this team are a solid core so far. Hope they continue to grow.
  18. All of the talk about the top three picks in the draft this year has Johnson sitting in the background but playing with no pressure as a 4th round starting nickel in a Bills secondary thirst for cornerbacks to step up next to White. He's playing his way into more playing time. Hasn't been perfect by any means but he's shown improvement since camp. I like the way this coaching staff has been using the rookies, especially Johnson and Neal. Blitzing these two is a nice way to get them involved early in their careers to give them some confidence. Each have a sack and Taron of course has an interception as well. Neal playing less with Poyer and Hyde getting the majority of the reps at S. Hoping these two young guys can continue the youth movement on defense and get more playing time.
  19. Instant gratification is a b****. Put the cellphone down and enter the world my friend. Patience is a skill nowadays haha.
  20. He was a bad QB lol. That's not a positive out of a draft class. Just because he is a starter doesn't mean anything. Dawkins, White and Milano are PRODUCTIVE starters who have continued to progress into year 2 so far. Keep trying man but you're really grasping at straws here.
  21. Written off as a bust signing already haha. Glad to see him succeed out there. Build on the positives.
  22. A blowout loss and we are the worst team in the league, a blowout win and we got the next two easy haha. At least it's optimistic haha
  23. Sure he was but that doesn't mean he looked like the next franchise QB. Kelly Holcomb was also a start for us once, did anyone consider him the next franchise QB when he was? Nope. Milano, White and Dawkins actually have talent.
  24. Hopefully the young players play like they did today.
  25. Goodwin had 17 catches...that's not a solid wr and what did EJ do in his first year to make anyone believe he was the next franchise QB? That's just ridiculous.
