No, you set a system and you draft players that fit that system. You don't go drafting 3-4 players for a 4-3 system or vice versa. And then any player you draft or sign from that point on is supposed to be a system fit. You don't get a player that doesn't fit and then change everything to fit that one players skill set

You don't change an entire defensive philosophy over one CB. He was drafted because he was looked at as a fit for our defense. It didn't work out as he is not good enough. No GM drafts players that aren't supposed to already fit their system

It's Bills game day on a short week after a dreadful loss to the lowly Patriots but I am continuing on with posting old games against upcoming opponents where we are playing them the coming week, I am going with the Buccaneers at Bills from 2017. The Buccaneers have only played in Buffalo twice in their history which is crazy to me. The Bills have won both matchups. The first time was in 2009, the TO year. I was at that game. I remember TO catching his first TD as a Bill while being there. I decided not to go with the Leftwich lead Buccaneers against the Edwards lead Bills and a Dick Jauron coached team for this week. I will save that for next time. The 2nd game here against them in 2017 was the better game. Tyrod lead the Bills and Winston Lead the Buccaneers in a game that came down to the wire. It was McDermott's first year and it was also in the year we broke the drought which makes it more appealing. My biggest memory of the game was a rookie Tre'Davious White forcing a fumble in the final minutes which lead to the game winning field goal by Haushka. I found the 8 minute condensed game highlights online since the full game wasn't available. Feel free to post any memories you have about this game. And let's hope this is the week we right the ship. I typically agree but this offense needs any momentum it can get right now and if they can receive the ball and take it down and score, it's a huge momentum builder. Just do it for a game or 2 and then go from there

Yeah, then we end up with the next best guy. That's the chance you take. But again, as I told you before, I have no issue with trading for a young guy that's worth it. But who would that WR be? No one can answer me that question. The other guy I was talking to was saying we trade for a young guy that can take over for Diggs when he leaves. Which guy 25 or younger is that guy right now? Which guy has been that productive and is worth it? I wasn't talking hypothetical of teams trading their picks. Just who was there at the moment that they either did pick or could have picked at that spot

Not saying to take one with a round 3 grade in round 1. I'm not saying we were wrong for trading for Diggs. What I am saying is that had we kept that pick, Jefferson would have been there. That was our pick we gave to them for Diggs. I'm also saying if there is a guy ranked between let's say the 33rd to 40th in the draft and we pick 27th. Is it really that bad to take the guy? Or a reach? I'm not saying to take a guy at 20 something overall that that's the 70th best player in the draft. Who would you trade for right now that has "proven" they are worth it that could be a potential Diggs replacement when he leaves? And can we afford the player? This isn't even just about grabbing a guy in the first round. The first 2 rounds works to. A lot of those guys are 2nd round picks. Michael Pittman is a guy I'd be interested in. He was a 2nd round WR. Would he be available? Is he the type of player that would work for you?
