He will probably want too much to be a backup. If you look at what Beane has done at the backup QB position, he has gone insanely cheap the last few years. When Mitch was here last time we only paid him $2 million for one season. This year we got him for around $1 million each of the next 2 years. Keenum was cheap. This year we bring in Dinnucci and Brown I think his name is. We could have had someone like Tannehill but he will probably cost about $6 or $7 million a season. Mike White I can see wanting around $4 or $5 million to be a backup. I don't think Beane wants to invest that money at the backup QB position
Yeah, I instantly gave up hope on the season when Claypool was put on IR. I don't know how we will ever rebound from that. Might as well just look ahead to 2025
6 sacks a season from a first round pass rusher isn't all that great. We need a 10+ sack a year guy. A first round pick should be that guy. Jerry Hughes was a hits and TFL guy but was mediocre when it came to actual sacks
I mean, it's a backup QB position. How many of them are really that good? I do think maybe we should have drafted a guy as a developmental guy in the later rounds instead of guys like Matt Barkley, but backup QBs themselves are vacuums for a reason
Yeah but Tua and Jordan Love are making more money than Allen. And we know Allen is the much better player. To me, love needs at least another year and Tua is nowhere near worth it
