You do realize that the Chiefs with that cap room have only 43 players under contract for 2024...and that does not include Chris Jones who is the heart of that defense. Nor does it include Sneed at CB. Granted...the Bills cap situation is worse, but I trust with the success of their recent drafts, they will get younger.

Det @ SF Game Thread (Please keep the Bills stuff out of this thread)
jkeerie replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think SF gives them a better game. Goff is immobile. Campbell gives away points. Detroit pass defense is porous. Oh yeah...and then there's all the drops by Detroit WRs. -

Actually McD got less conservative at the end of the year. Team just didn't execute. Campbell takes it to an extreme. -

You gotta take the points in playoff football. -
According to the NFL website, Eberflus is going to continue calling the plays for Chicago.

Okay...I'm a Penn State alum and fan but I know there are a number of Michigan fans in this forum. So with Harbaugh's departure for the NFL, what are your thoughts regarding Michigan's next head coach?

It's interesting that the only interest shown in Belichick has been Atlanta...yet they are still looking at other options. Is Belichick demanding complete control like he had in NE? If so, no thank you...especially if your team needs WR help.

Harbaugh close to deal to become Chargers Head Coach

That is true. -
If Hyde had the desire, I'd love to see him added to the coaching staff. Clearly they love the team and the area.

Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences
jkeerie replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's not what I heard. McD was acknowledging the effort of the entire staff...coaches, players etc. He pointed out it was NOT the outcome they wanted but it was a good season from the standpoint of winning the AFCE and getting to the divisional round. He was not congratulating himself. I swear people hear what they want to hear to fill their personal narratives. -

Need for KC to have more legit competition in their division. Harbaugh will put a very physical defense in place as well. Need to beat some of the cockiness out of Mahomes. -

I think, too, in light of the cap situation and knowing the team needs to get younger, especially defensively, I would expect Beane to focus on the draft heavily to fill out the roster. They've got to be encouraged as well with the success of some of these younger players this year. -

They're talking about this last season, so I wouldn't read into anything. -

It's a deep wide receiver class and the Bills have 10 picks. They've made some really good late round picks, especially in the 5th round. Don't we have 3 of those this year? -

Especially since Beane and McD are measured. There are no knee-jerk reactions. Unlike fans. -

It's called emotional maturity. -
At the beginning of the season I thought with the depth that Beane created this team could do it especially defensively. Then the injuries started happening and that depth was strained. Offensively we were inconsistent under Dorsey. When McD replaced Dorsey with Brady...we started moving in the right direction...but the injuries kept coming. And suddenly our special teams became problematic. Winning out to win the AFCE and take the 2 seed gave me hope. That hope was dashed with the wildcard win over the Steelers with all the injuries in that game. So I was not optimistic playing a healthy KC team.

Yes...and what it showed is that the Bills need more playmakers...aka wide receivers on offense to compete. We were in the game even with that banged up D. Josh had nowhere to go with the ball more times than not.

Have any of you been in this situation before??(vague title)
jkeerie replied to BillsBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am 70 years old and one thing I learned rather early on was to become a fan of the sport. Having a favorite team is great...and I will always root for and love the Bills. However, favorite teams will often disappoint you. There is parity, there are injuries, and there is just plain bad luck. So I have become a fan of football...both the Pros and college, in which I also have 4 teams I follow being an alum of 3 and having served in the AF. By enjoying the sport, it tempers that disappointment which is all too frequent and allows you to enjoy good game play. Following college football gives you a degree of knowledge heading into the draft. You also become less knee jerk reactionary when seasons end and can go year to year with a healthier perspective. -

They better not try to go after Brady.
