  1. I knew we were doomed when Boomer Esiason picked us to win. Kiss of death.
  2. I meant football smart. Interestingly, I'm watching the SEC championship and Danielson mentioned that Tagliavoa throws well but he's not a game manager. I think that's the issue with Jackson. He doesn't manage the game...realizing that throwing it away to maintain field position is better than taking a sack.
  3. I totally agree. He has a lot of skill and ability. He just isn't smart. He relies too much on his athleticism to get him out of trouble and ends up digging a bigger hole.
  4. Next year's goal...beat Northern Illinois. It's the team they can't seem to beat.
  5. You also have to put some of this on Jackson. He took really bad sacks instead of throwing the ball away. Impacted field position.
  6. That was the big complaint about Schmidt. His hang time has been horrible.
  7. Laugh hysterically outloud take on the title! Thanks for that!
  8. There's a difference between being incompetent and being an idiot.
  9. Great assessment, Shaw! The stats don't give Allen enough credit for the game he played. When he ran in for that touchdown to take the lead, the first thought I had was how Mahomes on Monday night had a similar opportunity against the Rams...and slid at the 3 rather than diving for the end zone and trying to score.
  10. Plus a number of those incompletions were to Thompson. It was clear he and Allen were not on the same page.
  11. Thanks for pointing this out. Woods is doing a fabulous job!
  12. That was absolutely hilarious. If you don't want to read the whole thing...just read the last paragraph...especially when he brings up the leaky pipe. I was in tears laughing so hard. We all feel his pain as hopeful fans who get disappointed year after year. The only thing we can do is laugh...despite the misery!
  13. Well, if Russia ever tries to mess with the NFL, she'd be right on top of it.
  14. I think with Lynn, we would have kept Tyrod. Presuming Gus Bradley was the D Coordinator under Lynn, we may have seen a similar result year one with the Bills. Chargers have had a ton of talent for years, but never had the right coaching combination. The offense put up a lot of points under Rivers, but they had to since their defense was so bad. There wasn't a lot to dismantle on that team. The Bills on the other hand never seem to have a cohesive plan on either side of the ball.
  15. Based on his first two games as a Bill and the fact that the Bills had 7 WRs on their roster, I can't say I'm that surprised.
  16. No surprise. Now he should find something he's good at and make a living at it.
  17. No worries. In truth given this is a football forum, I would presume the odds are in favor of a predominantly male representation. You simply guessed wrong. ?
  18. Actually...it's "sister". My Dad used to joke, "I have three sons, but my daughter's a captain in the Air Force."
  19. I couldn't agree more. I served in the Air Force (7 yrs)...during peace time, and have such a high regard for those who have been put in harm's way, serving in combat areas. They truly deserve a special thanks.
  20. This team has heart. The fans may have given up on this team, but they will never give up on each other. That includes coaches.
  21. Barkley is playing competently. That's why the offense is working. The Jets defense has played well prior to today. Daboll is calling a good game.
  22. Why couldn't Lewis fumble when he was on the Pats? Nice pick just now by Titans DB.
  23. That was my point. The female voice doesn't resonate. Her vocal quality is a detriment...although I wouldn't call it "nails on a chalkboard." Marge Simpson is "nails on a chalkboard." Beth Mowins voice is dull...Sominex dull.
  24. Speaking as one of the female contingent, Mowins isn't horrible...but the female voice doesn't resonate. Having said that...there are a number of male play by play guys that aren't very good either. There are some play by play guys that you absolutely love...Gus Johnson being one of my favorites. And no one since John Facenda has done NFL highlights as well.
