Excellent write up as always, Shaw! Totally agree, especially about Zay. I used to be a Zay advocate, but no more. Too many things happen when Josh is throwing in his direction...and just for the reasons you state. He's not competitive. (He reminds me a bit like Lee Evans in that respect.) I'm disappointed after yesterday's game, but not disheartened. On the other hand, I'm totally disillusioned and disgusted with the NFL in general...particularly in the officiating and Riveron's reviews. There is no consistency from game to game...except that certain teams and players seem to be favored sons.

You are right. In the end the Packers couldn't run (or were unwilling to run) and couldn't stop the run (Pettine's defense. Where have we seen that before.) Being able to run the football is especially important when you're inside the 10. Look at the Browns on Sunday. You have Chubb, and you try four pass plays?

Wendy Nix on NFL Live picked the Bills in her "all in" hat segment in today's show. You pick the team you are "all in" on this week. Del Rio picked the Bengals to get their first win. One guy picked the Vikings because of their run game. Ryan picked the Panthers. Then Wendy grabbed the Bills helmet. She believes in them, although not necessarily predicting a win.

I also think they are carrying so many as potential trade bait later in the season. Linemen are always going down and teams get needy. These guys are 3rd string for the Bills but could be seen as 2nd string or starters on other teams if the need arises.

Another well written, spot on piece of journalism! When I think of Josh Allen, I think of the theme song to the TV show years ago "The Facts of Life." "You take the good. You take the bad. You take them both and then you have the facts of "Josh." He's a work in progress and we are getting to see that progress week after week, Tums in hand, exhilarated one moment, nauseated the next. Sort of like being on a roller coaster. Weeeeeee!

I didn't pay that close attention to QBs in that draft since I knew we wouldn't be drafting one without our future GM. I knew Watson would be good though, since Clemson was on all the time. Mahomes is a huge surprise, although I think the baseball background could have predicted it. He's also learning under the Yoda of QB coaches in Reid.
