  1. If they bring up Webb, it doesn't look good for Josh. On the other hand, I think we're all hoping for a WR move of some kind.
  2. Which is why Whaley is no longer here...or anywhere for that matter.
  3. In truth...if Josh plays...I'm going to be holding my breath if he does take off and run. Vrabel uses the same "playbook" on defense as Belichick. Wouldn't surprise me if they try to knock Josh out again, especially since there were no consequences to the defensive player last Sunday.
  4. Yes...and you are correct that Josh is taking first snaps in the drills. Apparently, drills do involve running plays which would make sense when you think about it, especially for oline and dline. When I think of drills, I think of them just tossing the ball around, but there is more to it than that.
  5. In truth you have an equal crusade for Josh to play. Let's face it. We ALL (with the exception of the Josh haters) want Josh to be cleared and ready to play, and to start on Sunday. As fans, wishing doesn't make it so. None of us, has a clue right now what will happen. We're all trying to read the same tea leaves...and there is very limited information right now. It's not a matter of anybody being right. It's a matter of what is best for Josh and ultimately the team and that is in the hands of the neurologist and the coaches.
  6. Josh needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist. It is not a team decision...to protect the player.
  7. To be clear, that was still in drills, not going through the actual game plan practice. The media is not allowed to observe that part, for obvious reasons.
  8. On Total Access Last night, they were giving first quarter awards. Willie McGinnest chose Sean McDermott. He cited the Bills D, really touting how well they played against the Pats especially. He pointed out all McD needs to do is get his QB under control to play more consistently and quit the mistakes.
  9. This was an excellent read and analysis. Thank you so much OP for posting this.
  10. Quick question. Who reported that Allen was taking first team reps? Chris Brown reported the drills he was doing with Barkley and that's what we saw on film. Reporters aren't there for the team practice. So how do you know who was taking first team reps?
  11. He was limited today again, but that may have been due to practicing on a wet field.
  12. We all hope. My point is, if he is cleared but without a chunk of practice, if he could at least be the backup, we wouldn't have to activate anyone from the PS.
  13. At the very least...assuming Allen is cleared to play late in the week, I would expect Barkley to start and Josh to be the backup.
  14. I like Chase. Somehow, though, the Chargers have rarely had good luck with kickers. (One of the reasons they had to promote Chase.)
  15. I believe the Chargers just promoted McLaughlin to the active roster.
  16. This is true. He'll never do the right thing because he's too busy hanging onto his job.
  17. Riveron's a moron.
  18. Thank you for this. Very informative.
  19. Should have caught it.
  20. First of all, they don't have to be household names. They just have to be willing to come back to the ball and contest catches, not just let the defender make the INT. And the reasons these QBs aren't seen as making stupid decisions is because they have receivers that do the above. Brown and Beasley are better WRs, but the rest of the receiving corps are the same from a year ago. The oline is excelling in the running game, but not in pass protection. You are correct in that Allen does put the ball into harm's way too often, but I think part of the reason he does that is he trusts his receivers and his abilities too much. He needs to play smarter. On that point we agree.
  21. I think this is a valid point. I would agree with you here.
  22. One thing that cannot be overlooked. We've seen other QBs get away with "poor decisions"...throwing across their bodies, throwing into coverage...and getting away with it. Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are among that group. Their receivers make plays and bail them out. Instead of getting castigated, their throws end up on highlight reels. Now before anyone touts that Mahomes and Jackson are better than Josh at this point...I'm not saying he's in their company. My point is...he doesn't have the receivers to allow him to get away with bad decisions. I think he needs to put that realization at the top of his lesson plan.
  23. You know he has one! He befriended McVay all last season, calling him after games and chatting. (McVay talked about this in interviews.) McVay was flattered. Hah! Belichek was getting intel, figuring they may be an opponent in the Super Bowl.
