  1. I ordered the boot from Amazon. Should be here today.
  2. I'm dealing with plantar fasciitis right now. Very painful.
  3. Is he still in Paris? He and his wife are attending the Olympics.
  4. And with his play this far, I'm glad he's an ex-Bill.
  5. According to One Bills Live just now, they had over 200 applicants and did conduct interviews and evaluations. I think it was a matter of loyalty to a local guy. A lot of folks like him on play-by-play. Personally, I agree that he screams too much into the microphone and tries too hard with "catchy phrases."
  6. Because local law enforcement likely has more manpower. SS covers the immediate area and relegates the outer distances to the locals. That's my conjecture and I'm sure we'll hear more in the coming weeks.
  7. That's my point. I don't think this was an assassination attempt as much as it was a mass shooting. However, I will defer any further opinion pending the full investigation. I would add that if Trump was targeted by this kid, it could just as easily have been because he viewed Trump as a bully. I want to hear more confirmation regarding the explosives in his car etc.
  8. I agree that killing people is illegal. It just doesn't stop people from doing it.
  9. But not until after 4 people were shot...one fatally.
  10. Apparently, the entire perimeter was open and unprotected. The SS is saying it was the purview of local law enforcement. People in the stands could see the kid and we're trying to alert the authorities but no one was paying attention. Their focus was the immediate crowd.
  11. And a $15 donation to a progressive group (not the Democratic party per se) means nothing. The kid may have been concerned about climate change. I don't think this kid was political at all.
  12. I agree. This is just my opinion but likely this had nothing to do with politics. This kid was lashing out and wanted to make a statement. This was a public event, near where he lived with lots of people. His opportunity. Anyone who is pointing fingers at one side or the other is part of the problem. Too many shootings in this country...period.
  13. He was talking about his charity before he made his comments. Likely, he's trying to rile up the Bills fan base so they start donating! You hit the nail on the head!
  14. I lost my Dad in 2006 but one of my favorite memories was sharing wine and Monday Night Football with him one evening. I was visiting for the holidays. My Dad was hard to buy for, so that Christmas I bought a nice set of two bottles of French wine in a nice wooden case. The Monday after Christmas that year, Green Bay was playing. I can't even recall who they were playing, but I recall it was a good game. Mom was watching her sitcoms in their bedroom. Dad went out into the kitchen and came in with the bottle of white wine and two wine glasses. We enjoyed the wine and the game. Then...Dad went back into the kitchen and brought in the bottle of red. So...we killed two bottles of wine (albeit I do believe Mom got a glass) watching and enjoying that game. It was one of my fondest memories.
  15. As well as the national pundits who don't really watch the games and just go by past history. They see the players the Bills lost and extrapolate from there. They didn't pay any attention to how ineffective those players were in the second half of last season.
  16. That's why I've come to appreciate Mina Kimes. Like she said...she watches the games.
  17. They were saying it was cheaper for people to fly to Paris and watch the Taylor Swift concert there, than try to catch a concert in the US.
  18. I agree he is entitled to his opinion. I disagree with your statement about living in a "world where celebrating the nuclear family is negative." I don't see that. However, what I do see is a movement within this country to take steps backward when it comes to the rights of women and minorities. I think that has created a hyper-sensitivity when we hear rhetoric that even hints of supporting that. It's like if you took the Army's slogan, "Be All You Can Be" but added the addendum, "By the way, all you can be is...." (fill in the blank).
  19. I think I was more taken aback by his not so veiled reference to Israel and the Jews killing Jesus. I mean shades of Mary Kay Place's sitcom character years ago when she refers to the Jews as "the people what killed our Lord." 😄
  20. Don't go for ad free. Get the basic package with ads. It's 6.99 plus tax per month. The ads are not the least intrusive. Much better than watching regular tv ads.
  21. I subscribed to Netflix for one month just to watch the miniseries adaptation of a book I had read. Since I had the month, I watched the series and binge watched a number of movies that I wanted to see. I'll do the same for this. I'll subscribe for the month...watch the games and any other movies etc that I want to watch. Then I'll unsubscribe. It cost me $7.60 (including tax) for the ad supported tier (ads were not much of an intrusion). I know folks want to complain on principle. You used to be able to watch the games for free over the air waves on your antenna supported TV. Well, guess what? You can still do that...watching whatever games are broadcast on CBS and Fox on Sundays and Thanksgiving. There are other options today though to watch even more football on Thursday nights and Christmas day (a Wednesday) for those who want to pay for those services. I'm sure many migrated to cable TV rather than deal with the rabbit ears, to get more channels and more viewing options. Streaming is just the latest platform...and you have services that you can subscribe to one month and unsubscribe the next. It all depends on where you prioritize the spending of that $7.60.
  22. I was signed up for auto-renewal and got a notice that the new renewal rate would be $29.99 per month. No thank you. So...I called the "local" number and yes, got the call center with someone with a dialect. She offered me 3 free months and $4.99 per month thereafter. I took it but expected the renewal 5/12. Prior to that, I did check my online account that was still earmarked auto-renewal and it reflected the price she quoted me. On 5/12 my account was blank, but I was still able to access the e-edition. Then yesterday, I saw my account was permanently stopped. That's when I called today and found out their issues. The associate couldn't even check online to see if my account will/did renew. I want to support local newspapers, but the price has to be reasonable.
  23. The Buffalo News is messed up. I called because my online account, rather than renewing, was showing as permanently stopped. I called the number and the gal in the call center said that they were doing system upgrades that temporarily cancelled everyone's subscription. I was able to access the e-edition on my phone, but hopefully this gets fixed soon.
  24. I was thinking...they signed the Demon Barber of Fleet Street!
