  1. I prefer that too but Brett Favre isn't available.
  2. I ask this with complete sincerity: Is there an example that someone can give me of a QB who was highly drafted and whose career was ruined because he played to soon?
  3. The Jets fans were pissed off over nearly every draft pick the team had for decades.
  4. I have seen this posted by a number of people. I started thinking about it and I couldn't come up with an example of a QB drafted high that was started too early and it ruined his career. If you're thinking of some specific examples please share them with me. I'm not harping on you I just can't think of any.
  5. I remember going to a game in Kelly's first year here and the stadium was electric. I don't recall who they were playing but I remember he got dinged up and went to the locker room. When he walked back out of the tunnel to return to the game the stadium just erupted. I still get chills just thinking about it.
  6. I have a theory on the negativity that's contained within some of the posts on this board. I may be right, I may be wrong. My supposition is that a good many of the posters on this board are not old enough to remember the Bills of the late 1980's into the mid 1990's. That being said, those people have cheered on a team that has been mired in mediocrity (or less) for the better part of 2 decades. How could you be anything but negative? Those of us in our mid 40's and older have seen how glorious winning can be. Of course on the flip side we sat through 4 soul crushing losses. I completely understand the negativity because it seems to some that no matter what players they draft or trade for, the Bills will find a way to do the wrong thing just to get to 8-8 or worse. The trek to the mountaintop seems impossible. I and other posters in my age bracket have been fortunate enough to live through and witness with our own eyes a period in time when this franchise was truly great. At least for me that makes trusting the process and all that could potentially come with it worth waiting for.
  7. I don't think your point here makes much sense. Normally in a draft year with a lack of QB talent (perhaps 2019) guys tend to move up the board unnaturally. That certainly wasn't true this year at all as teams had their pick of a number of talented players.
  8. Edmunds is widely acknowledged to be a great pick up and as for Allen you are right to say that we don't know what he can become but the same is true for the 2 QB's that went ahead of him and also Rosen. Allen was a top 10 pick in nearly every mock draft I could find so I'm having a hard time understanding what you think you know that the professional talent evaluators don't.
  9. Do you mean the Joe Namath that won less than half of his games as a starting QB, the one that threw nearly 50 more int's than TD's in his career or the one that had a great 2 game run to the Super Bowl that got him into the HOF(by the way, only 3 playoff games in his career)?
  10. This does not read like real interest.
  11. I'm sure there will be an open competition for the QB position in camp. The winner will start game 1.
  12. I have to believe that Beane and McDermott are gonna provide whatever support is necessary to bring this kid along. They don't seem like the type to leave things to chance. I don't think this fan base will ever confuse effort with results.
  13. I think there are very few examples of QB's who became something in the NFL that they weren't in college.
  14. Thanks for adding that. Just like you I'm hoping that you are wrong.
  15. This is truly one of the dumbest articles I've ever read. Does anyone think that you have to be that clever when you're picking first? Are we supposed to think that Dorsey was going to blow up everyone's draft board by choosing Mayfield #1? It sounds like the columnist thinks Dorsey was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers. Not true.
  16. These two examples do not strengthen your argument. Rodgers sat while Favre was one of the elite QB's in the league and Steve Young sat for 4 years behind some guy named Joe Montana. The Browns and Jets also have QB's on their rosters that have started a bunch of games in the league while the Bills have McCarron who has only thrown 133 regular season passes in his career. I would think that the Bills hope McCarron can start the season as their #1 but are hoping even more that Allen is ready to take over sooner rather than later.
  17. Good post. I would think anyone on this board who thinks their voice is heard at OBD is delusional.
  18. It's good to see you've moved past denial and bargaining and are now on to acceptance.
  19. So you're saying Super Bowl in 2020 then?
  20. I'm not playing games. You seem convinced that there is no way Allen plays. I'm just saying the guy you've got listed as #1 on your depth chart has thrown 133 regular season passes and you've seen #2 in action. Now, that being said I also hope that AJ can be a productive starter but if he struggles we all saw last year that McDermott will not hesitate to pull the plug.
  21. Who even knows what McCarron is? Is he ready?
  22. So Allen could be ready to play ahead of Peterman but not AJ?
