History isn't on the Bills side in terms of coaches staying. Only 2 coaches since the 70s have won a Super Bowl after 5 seasons with a team.
-
I don't disagree with that. I'm not saying fire the guy tomorrow. At some point if he can't win the big one maybe it's time for a change. Allen only has so many years left in his prime. There is definitely a chance a new coach sets them back. It's also just as much of a chance a new coach pushes them over the hump.
-
I guess. I would agree if no other team does it but other teams have done it when the current coach doesn't get them over the hump. There's a reason only 2 coaches since the 70s has won a Super Bowl after being with the team for more than 5 seasons.
-
I agree, my point is many long time fans are enjoying the ride and are afraid a change means they go back to not being a Super Bowl contender or worse.
-
IMO that stems from a couple of things. One being if you follow the Sabres at all you have seen how well Pegula is with picking coaches there. Second, for many that have been a fan for a long time, this is the best stretch of winning they have ever had. Changing coaches and there is a possibility that this ends and they go back to missing the playoffs again
-
For one relying on turnovers isn't sustainable as that has some luck involved. Most agree they lost talent going into this season. I still don't necessarily agree that it's all due to talent that they don't get over the hump. A big one is the philosophy of rotating line men.
-
That's fair. Since they were this close this season I would trade multiple 1sts to get Garrett, sign Tee Higgins and re structure a bunch of contracts to make it work. Stop focusing so much on character in the draft. Make talent the number 1 priority.
-
I would want to do what the Rams did when they were close. Especially like this past season. When the Bills were one of the best teams, trade some 1sts and get some difference makers.
-
I would prefer them go to go all in and win one and take 3-5 years to rebuild
-
It's been " a couple calls or a couple of plays" for the last few seasons. IMO he's taken them as far as he can. I don't understand that notion that if McDermott left they all of a sudden go to being a drought team.
-
It's the same results. The one constant is the head coach.
-
You missed the part about it happening every season. It's been multiple seasons with the same result.
-
Whatever they are doing on defense hasn't changed the outcome each year. The defense continues to get lit up by good QB play each playoffs.
-
Your first point is why IMO they have never gotten over the hump. They are too focused on culture guys As far as the second point, you're right it's no guarantee of a Superbowl win but you do need playmakers to get you there. IMO is something the Bills lack. Look at the past few Super Bowl winners. All have playmakers on both sides of the ball.
-
I want to believe that but all the years he's been coach his defense hasn't changed philosophy much and crumbled against good offenses.
-
Got you now. Now they are counting people that most likely aren't watching making the ratings better. Even without that I'm sure the number was still very high. Your list you made is still a high number of people.
-
It's not my job to figure out who up and coming coaches to get. All I know is McD has taken this team as far as he can. His defense has played the same every playoff with the same results. My thoughts are many are afraid if McD goes the Bills go back to being irrelevant.
-
That all could be true. It doesn't change how many tuned in. I get many want to believe there was an actual boycott and many didn't tune in. The majority of people tuning in are casual fans and tune in regardless of the teams playing
-
Nope not at all. Reading that tells me they are getting a more accurate number. Instead let's keep this boycott going.
-
They aren't going to make up numbers. I feel it's a bunch of bitter fans that don't want to believe they are wrong
-
This is now on Beane, no question he needs to step up.

I agree he doesn't but I also think the stigma of a blue collar team has some influence. Look at how many are against elite talent of it comes with some character issues. -
The average viewer doesn't care about narratives.
